Zoo For Jordyn's Birthday

Normally I avoid being out in the hot weather.  It makes me sick...it really does.  However, when Kevin mentioned to me the other day that they were going to the Zoo for Jordyn's birthday and invited me to join them I decided that I would.  That is, if they had room so I didn't have to drive.  They did and so I went.  I haven't been to the Zoo since Jared was in first grade and boy has it changed.  I had a good time remembering how it was but really enjoyed the changes.
I was really grateful that they had huge misting fans around the park.  Holy Cow it got hot!  Julie said that this is probably the hottest day they have ever gone to the Zoo.  (lucky me)  I took advantage of the fans and let my makeup run and my hair do whatever it wanted.  The coolness was much more important.  We got to feed the giraffes.  Jordy was really looking forward to that. She told me they were going to get to before we even left.  She loved it and showed the giraffe her long tongue too.  She does have a long tongue.  The twins seemed to enjoy the animals too.  Briggs wasn't too sure about getting too close to the giraffe though but didn't cry....just held back as far as he could.  I love that Kevin and Julie take all the kids with them most of the time.  They are so family oriented which I admire so much.

I mentioned to Kevin how cool it was for me to see him with his cute little family.  Kevin and Julie are great parents (all my kids are...I'm so blessed)  They are making a great life with lots of fun memories for their children.  I love observing.
We stopped at Golden Corral for dinner.  That's another fun tradition Julie and Kevin do for their kids.  They spend the day with them and then go to dinner.  They always text the families to join them if they want and are available.  This year only Lynette, Rich and Kimleighel joined us.  Lynette told me that I looked like I had gotten a little sun today.  She's right...just a little!

Fun day with a cute family.

Jordyn is Three

Jordyn Jo is three years old.  What a cutie pie this little one is.  She's such a sweetie. Jordyn loves dolls of all kinds.  She will entertain herself for hours with her dolls.  Jordy is very girly.  She loves fancy clothes and princess things.  Her favorite color is pink.  She recently told her mom and dad that she doesn't like getting her hair done and would rather be "died" or move. ☺ Even though she doesn't like the process of getting her hair done she does like it to look pretty.  Jordyn is a smartie and very polite.  It's so much fun have Jordyn is are family.  She adds so much sunshine to our lives.  Jordyn is very cute with Briggs and Brynlie. She's thoughtful and kind.  We're so blessed to have this little one in our family!

Thursday

A Fun Thursday

Kimi was watching Trichelle's kids today.  I didn't have anything going and so I got to enjoy them too.  I was happy that Ivy chose to hand out with us today.  She is at the age that friends are usually first but today we got her.  She was fun and a joy have over.  Ivy wanted to make some "slime".  I didn't have the ingredients and so I took her to the store and we got them.  She is so thoughtful and kind to her brothers and made sure we included them.

"Slime" is made with glue and a little bit of diluted borax.  The kids all had a good time with their slime.  I'm glad that she thought of it.  I love having little ones in my home.  I think it would be so lonely if they weren't always coming and going.

I love seeing their cute faces, and getting their squishy hugs.  I love hearing them giggle and scream with excitement.  I love watching them grow and learn.  I'm so thankful for each of my little's who bring so much happiness to my world.
Larry and I met Tanna and Eric at LaFerrovia for dinner.  We haven't visited with these two for a few years.  We've bumped into one another here and there but haven't really got to visit until tonight.  I love these two.  They are so strong and I learn from them.

They are going through some pretty challenging times but are hanging in there.  I can see their testimonies growing because of their challenges.  Challenges really are a gift.  Through our challenges we are pushed closer to our Heavenly Father.  We need Him more to strengthen us and enlighten us.  I am also learning things because of their challenge. The rippling effects of ours and others trials stretch so far.  God is so wise in teaching us the things we need to learn.

I'm really grateful for these friends.  I'm so thankful that we have grown close over the years.  I love them so much.  I adore each of their kids and grands.  The Monson's are a blessing to our family.  I know that a few of my kids have been blessed through them.  I'm so thankful for friends!

Wednesday

Cindy Nurr's Event

One of the ladies that I have met through Awaken did a seminar tonight and so I attended it with Trichelle and a few other ladies.  It was at Cindy's house and was about hypnotherapy.  Cindy has always enjoyed helping and teaching children.  After she retired from teaching preschool she felt  the need and desire to go back to school.  She earned a degree but then was introduced to Hypnotherapy.  She feels like she will be able to help others with her knowledge and gift.  I do believe that hypnosis is a powerful way to heal some things from our past.  I had a session years ago with a friend and it was amazing.

Cindy started her presentation with a prayer which I thought was really cool.  She was hesitant but was encouraged by Amber since this was her event and she felt the need.  It was awesome.  I know that God had provided many different ways of helping his children to heal and better their lives.  I know that Cindy has been directed to this path and that through her others will be healed and brought closer to our Heavenly Father.

It was a great night.  I love the friendships that I have made in the past several months. I love seeing how supportive everyone is to each other.  We are all important in God's plan...plain and simple!

Lagoon?

Today Kevin came and got the Air Hockey and our Pop A Shot.  We are trying to simplify our lives and we feel like these toys have served their purpose in our home.  Even though we have grands that enjoy them, we also have little ones that are too little who also want to play.  We just feel like these things will be enjoyed at another house more.  Having them gone feels so good.  The room feels lighter.  I was glad he brought his little gang and that we got to have them come inside to play while he took things apart.  I love these faces.  I love how Kevin just continues on with his kids in tow.  It makes me smile.  I'm happy that our Hockey table and Pop A Shot will be enjoyed by our kids and grands still.
Trichelle takes her kids to Lagoon on Wednesdays and she invited me to go with them. She told me that I would really enjoy hearing them laugh and even scream.  It sure brings joy to her and she knew it would me as well.  We thought I could get in and just watch....wrong!  I needed to buy a pass as well which I wasn't willing to do for just a few hours.  The kids were looking forward to it and so I told them to just go and I would wait.  Trichelle gave me her keys so I could go to Station Park.  I found a cool spot under a tree though and was planning on sitting there and watching people.  I had barely positioned myself when I got a call from Ivy.  They thought it was mean to leave me and so they came back out.  I really didn't mind waiting because I knew it wasn't going to be long.  We went to Station Park together instead.  We just walked around.  We went in Build a Bear and as cute as though bears are, they can get expensive.  That's when I realize how conservative I am.  If I got a child a bear from there it would come out naked.

We got us a drink at Fiiz and sat by the fountain and visited while the boys threw pennies in the pool.  I'm sure they didn't make any wishes but they enjoyed throwing away our pennies.  I had fun and I hope the kids didn't mind too much.  Next year I think I'll just get a pass so I can go watch.  (maybe even this year)

Temple

The Temple is one of my favorite places to go.  I'm so glad that Cindy and Lisea invited me to join them each week.  I was doing a good job of attending on my own but it is really nice to be able to rub shoulders with these sweet ladies once a week.  I also love the Sealers and other Temple workers that we see every week.  I truly feel loved on Wednesdays.

We noticed that there are tomato plants by the east doors on both sides.  There are also some poinsettias right now.....interesting to me.

Our groups was split up today and so I thought we'd get to the alter a few more times but I still only got there two times.  I know it really doesn't matter how often I kneel at the alter since the amount of work being done is the same.  I love hearing the blessing of the sealings.  I'm reminded how blessed I am to have those blessings.

Tuesday

Bowling with My Boys

Tonight I went Bowling with my Boys!  I sure do love these cute guys with all my heart.  I really missed TJ and Jared but it was still fun and wonderful.  My boys make me laugh.  They are all so funny in their own way.  I admire my guys. They are all hard workers and such great men.  I marvel at how well our boys turned out in spite of Larry and I...Oh and because of us.  I know we taught them a lot of good and we also taught them things not to do.  They are better than we were and that is exactly what we hoped and prayed for.

Bowling was fun.  My scores weren't great but I had a good time.  I did't get a strike but picked up an awesome split.  My first balls were good and there were so many times I thought all the pins would fall but they never did.  Larry and Justin had great games. The other boys did well...I think.  I don't really care about the scores.  I just go to have fun.  Braxton likes to bowl tricky sometimes and he challenged me to be like him.  He was throwing the ball between his legs from behind.  I did it once and it was hard to do.  My boys thought I was cool though for trying and my ball did stay on the lane. haha

I bought everyone a drink, fries and scones.  We really did have a fun night together.  I like Bowling with my Boys for My Birthday!  I love each and everyone of them.  (Larry was a good sport and came even though it was the one night he had set aside to watch a ball game...it was on at the bowling alley but no noise)

I Believe There Are Angels Among Us

Today I had a wonderful day that reminded me of how much I am loved.  Teresa came over and helped me clean up my computer a little.  She spent a few hours with me just because she is so nice.  I sure appreciate my friends and their gifts.

Carla called and wanted me to help her bag her pampered chef party.  I love doing that, I love opening up boxes and sorting through things.   After we sorted the orders we just visited.  Kimleighel had gone with me and we chatted for over an hour and it was just nice.  Carla and Kimi both needed to vent a little or at least express themselves.  I'm good with that and usually have things come up and out too.

I got a text from Kathy some time during the day asking me if I was home and so when I got home I text her that I was.  I thought it was kind of strange because usually if someone asks that it means they want to come over.  We had just gone out with Kathy and Matt and so I was stumped.  Later that evening Kathy came over.  She was so sweet and shared with me a quote that she had read the day before that made her think of me.  It was a positive quote and that made me feel great.  Then she said that while she was in the store and passed some chocolate she thought of me again.  It hit her that I she had thought of me two days in a row and so she bought me the chocolate and brought it over!  Wowzers.....that act of kindness sure made my day.  (chocolate always makes my day)  But, really just knowing that someone was thinking of me because of good things was awesome and such a gift.

When these kind of days happen, I can't but help think of Heavenly Father and how He is blessing me through my sweet friends.  I realize it's a two way deal and that some how I am also blessing them.  I love how it all works.

Monday

Monday-Funday

I always feel bad that Kathy's birthday fall around Father's Day.  The reason I feel bad is because she usually gets overlooked by her family.  I know it makes her feel bad and this year she was in tears on her birthday.  All her kids were leaving and her hormones were off and it just wasn't a happy day for her.  I told her we were going to celebrate her even if it took us weeks to do so.  Today we were able to get together.  We went to Jeremiah's for breakfast. It was fun visiting and focusing on Kathy.  The girl cracks me up.  I'm glad she was born and that we are friends.  Kathy is one smart gal...a little goofy sometimes but seriously smart.  I learn a lot from her.  I hope that she felt special today because she truly is.  I love Kathy!
Richard, my team lead from Awaken, hosted a BBQ tonight.  I talked Larry into going because I wanted him to meet some of the people that I have became friends with through the Awaken Seminars.  I don't think Larry really enjoyed the little get together but he was a good sport.  I'm glad Trichelle brought her boys to keep Larry entertained.

This group of people are good and nice.  They are constantly trying to be better and help others to be better too!  I'm glad we went.  I wanted to support Richard and those that came.  It was super relaxing for me at least.  (Larry maybe not)

It was fun meeting Richard and Anthony's wife's.  I would not have put Ann and Richard together at all.  Karen and Anthony were a good fit. I liked Ann and Karen though and thought they were lovely women.  I am constantly learning from others.  One thing I learn is to see others for who they really are.  I believe most people are wonderful beings when we really "see" them.

Saturday

Dinner with the Malone's

Larry and I were just getting home from the store when Larry got a text from Matt inviting us to dinner.  Heck Yes, we wanted to go.  They gave us a few minutes and then came and got us.  We went to Applebee's.   We sure had a great time visiting with our friends.  We hardly see them since they go to the Single Adult ward and all of our lives are so busy.  It's refreshing to take a breather and just chill and be with friends.

Larry had on a reindeer headband when they came to pick us up.  (Kathy hit a deer on their young adult trip when they went back to the church sites.)  Kathy is a good sport and it's been long enough now that it can be joked about.  Larry is such a silly guy and makes us all laugh out loud often.  We need to remember how nice this was tonight and be sure to take the time to ask the Malone's out next time.  I'm so thankful for friends.

We pulled in to our driveway and a few of our kids were there.  Kevin was returning the boat that he borrowed from Trichelle and TJ and so their cute family was there.  Trichelle and TJ were there to get the boat so they can go out tomorrow and enjoy it.  It was so fun seeing everyone.  I love these simple times.  When everyone was gone we watched an episode of Hawaii 5 0 with Kimleighel.  She'd been waiting all day for us to watch with her.

Friday

Day Camp

Today I had a day camp for the girls that couldn't go to Heber Valley with us.  Most was because of their health and I felt bad that they couldn't be included.  It was a fun day for everyone that came.  I made Hawaiian Haystacks for lunch, Kay had a sandwich.  We did a few crafts (rock angels, wood angels) and we had some discussions and activities like we did at camp.  (the greatness I see in you, and labeling each other)  After everyone received their labels I had them read them.  The rest of us said:  "Yes, you are!" and they had to reply with "Thanks, I know!".  It is so hard to claim are greatness but it is so important to do so.

It was a very successful day.  I was feeling good about things until I posted a picture on the internet and a few girls felt left out.  I felt bad about that.  I'm sure they just thought that I didn't want them to come.  In reality these ladies that came really wanted to go to camp and just couldn't and I had crafts and things for them already.  I did have one girl that got sick and didn't come to camp and I did forget to tell her about today.  It happens...I forget things sometimes and I feel bad. (I'm impressed with all that I do remember) The other gal that brought it to my attention really is not interested in camp but I'm sure she would have just liked to have been invited.  Live and Learn...continually!

Wednesday

Hello From Alaska

I got another text tonight from an unknown sender.  It said: "Hello from Alaska!  Just met your son who is a complete star!  We are so grateful for him!  Michael and Jill Liem."  HOW COOL IS THAT?
It's very-very cool...that's how cool it is.  I love that people are so thoughtful.  I was told that the people in Alaska would take care of my son and it's happening already.  I feel so blessed to have him there.

I thanked Jill and found her on Facebook.  We are now Facebook friends. ☺ After I thanked her for being so thoughtful and taking the time to make my momma heart happy she replied again..."Thank you so much for supporting your son on his mission!  He looks really well and is such a lovely young man.  We are lucky to have him her!"  Well I think I am lucky that he is there.  This is my only son that stayed in the states and the first time I had people send me pictures.  I really like it!  I know that things have changes since our first son went and it is easier to find people and communicate...I'm so thankful.

My heart bursts when I know that my son is with someone that is texting me.  I just feel a little closer to him some how.  People are so wonderful.  I know Larry did this kind of thing with the Sisters out here and so maybe that is why we are having these things happen to us.  Next time I have the opportunity to take a missionaries picture I am going to and I will send it to his mom.  It's the little things in life that make a huge difference! ♥

Lunch with some Sista's

Shauna was in town and so Jodi planned a lunch for her.  Apparently it wasn't a good time for anyone else.  It didn't start out to be for me either because I was suppose to take Teresa to lunch for her birthday.  We actually changed that date to Monday when Kathy cancelled.  I've done a lot of juggling on my calendar this year.  I'm glad though that I was able to go.  I took Kimleighel with me since she was hoping that the two of us could do something.

The plan was to go to Tony's but it was closed for cleaning.  I guess it's always closed for a few weeks at this time of year.  We didn't know!  We walked around the corner to the cute sandwich shop that we took Kellie to for her birthday last week.  I decided to just order soup and a salad since last time I got too full.  It was perfect.  I love the cute things in this shop.  So many fun memories of my childhood come back looking at the nostalgic candy we use to enjoy.  A lot of older toys are available there too.  It's a fun little trip down memory lane.  I wonder what my kids remember from their childhood's?

It was fun visiting with Jodi and Shauna. I enjoy their thoughts and input on things.  However, I did leave feeling kind of guilty.  Sometimes I say too much about others.  Not necessarily mean but more than I should.  I've been repenting...again.  Funny thing is, I don't thing anything bad about what others say because I know their intent.  I don't feel like they are being judgmental, so why do I feel like I am?

It was fun anyway.  I enjoyed my time with Kimleighel as well.  Oh and Trichelle called me tonight and told me of a breakthrough that she had.  It was awesome and the best part was that she wanted to share it with me. YEAH for my cute girls!

Temple this Morning

We had a big group go to the Temple today.  I think I counted 10 of us.  The good thing is---we had three men. The bad things is---my name wasn't on the list of participants.  I am so glad that one of the sealers noticed.  I did notice that I was going to be last to go to the alter and that's because my name wasn't on the list.  I know it's because there was such a large group of us and I didn't go talk to Sister Peterson to let her know I was there.  It worked out though.

Today one of the Sealers was Brother Shupe.  I went to school with a few of his daughters.  Lael was my age and we always competed in band for first chair.  Her sister Wendy is a year younger and sold us my wedding ring.  I love the Sealers in the Temple.  They are all such nice men.

I love the group I go with and feel a true friendship with them all now.  I guess that happens when you spend most Wednesday mornings in the temple together.  I love being in the Temple and feeling the unconditional love there.

My favorite name today was Ivy Viola.  I just thought it was pretty.  I couldn't help but think of her mother who named her that.  I bet she loved flowers.  We noticed that four daughters were sealed to the same parents today.  I bet that was one happy family.  I hope we got them all.  I always worry that someone might be lost and forgotten.  That's a sad thought.

The Temple grounds are beautiful but I like them better in the Spring.  I like bright flowers best.

Tuesday

4th of July

Today was one of the most relaxing 4th of July's I can remember.  We didn't get up and go to a parade or to any celebration.  We usually do yard work and maybe a little boating.  Larry did go out and paint the swings. He painted the tires the on Saturday and so the play ground looks good again.  Kimi mowed the lawn and I worked on the computer.  Then we fixed hot-dogs for lunch because it seemed like the right food for today.
I told Larry I'd like to go to the show or for a drive.  He chose to see a movie.  Kimleighel picked Despicable 3.  The theater was full and so we had the luxury seats that are still pretty close to the screen.  It wasn't too bad but not our favorite spot to be.  The show was cute but it was mid afternoon and so Larry and I were caught dozing.  It was fun going out for a bit.
We came home and watched a few more episodes of Hawaii 5 0.  We caught a few before the movie too.  We never just sit and watch TV but it was kind of nice being able to.  I love having Netflix and being able to watch one episode after another with no commercials.  We might be a little addicted to Hawaii 5 0.

We did think about the freedoms we enjoy and we do appreciate everyone who has fought to have them and keep them.  I will always pray for God to Bless America!  We need God and His blessings!

Monday

Celebrating Us

Teresa and I met today at Even Steven's for lunch.  We have had to reschedule to make this happen.  I'm glad it finally did.  Teresa's birthday was a few weeks ago and mine is in a few weeks so this worked out great. I love this girl and I'm so glad we became friends.  Teresa is so genuine and good.  She loves everyone is nonjudgmental.  She's a strength to so many...she is to me!  I enjoyed sitting out on Washington Blvd while we ate.  There are so many interesting people that walk by.  I wonder what their stories are.  I enjoyed our visit and I'm thankful that every now and then we make the time to see each other.  Isn't Teresa so cute?

***A little thing that I have noticed lately.  I know that Satan is trying to discourage me and make me think that I'm not important to my friends anymore.  How is this happening?  It seems like whenever I have something planned with a friend that I get bumped and it has to be rescheduled.  Sometimes my friends don't even get back to me.  Well, I know that things happen and come up and that it is necessary to change plans but it has been happening a lot this year.  (almost every time I plan something with someone)  I know that is one of Satan's little tactics though.  I've caught on to this guy and I refuse to let the turd get me down.  I know my friends love me and that I am just as important to them as they are to me.  The dude will not get me down.  It was a good try until I saw the pattern and noticed where my thoughts were going.  I love myself and my life and I will not go there.

Sunday

Winner Winner...Chicken Dinner?

Kevin's family is in Evanston with Julie's parents and Kam chased a chicken and won.  She's such a cutie!

Saturday

Trials and Blessings

Today was a day to ponder and to count my blessings.  In the afternoon I received a text from a Sister Long in Alaska.  She was helping Jared return his tablet that is broken.  I thought that he had returned it while he was in Provo but I guess not.  I was feeling so grateful for good members that are willing to take their time and help my son.  While she was texting me I received a cute selfie of her and my cute missionary and his new companion.  Boy did that make my mama heart happy!  Instantly tears of joy flowed from my eyes.  I love seeing my cute son's face.  It just makes me happy.  I love how the Gospel united us all no matter where in the world we are.  We are One Big Happy Family!  I love that and love being a part of it.  I know this Church is the True Church.  I love all the love and support we all give each other.  It's such an awesome feeling.

Larry and I were headed to his shop to get the receipt for the tablet when Justin called and told us that Scott's house was on fire.  We had plans of going to a wedding reception and being early but that never happened.  We stood outside Scott's house and watched it burn.  The firefighters were on top of it but there was so much damage.  Larry and I stood there and cried.  Scott had just finished remodeling his house a year or so ago and to know it was gone was heartbreaking.  We are just so relieved that Scott and his family were not at home.  (they were being protected)
Scott and his family were enjoying a movie together and I'm really glad that they didn't answer their phone.  There wasn't anything anyone could do and at least they enjoyed some family time together before all this.

I had plenty of time to think and ponder tonight.  It was really hot and so I went and sat in my car with the air conditioning on.  The thought came to me that God allows things to happen.  I know He could have prevented this but He allowed it.  I also know that He knew it was going to happen and made sure the family wasn't home.  He does guide us to safety and always blesses us with the strength to get through our trials.  Erin had just backed up their computer a week earlier....I don't think that was a coincident.  There were other tender mercies and I witnessed so much love and support from their neighbors and family.  Things like this bring people together.  Things like this help bring us closer to our Heavenly Father and Savior as we lean on them for support and comfort.  No matter what the trial there are always so many valuable lessons to be learned.  One big one is that God knows and loves us.  He blesses us through others and that's a good feeling.

I loved visiting with Scott and Erin later and admire their positive attitudes.  The girls were awesome too.  Good things will come from this, I just know.  God Bless Scott, Erin, Mallory, Hayley and Brittney.  This cute little family will remain in our prayers while they rebuild their home.  We sure love them all.

Friday

Paid for Being Me

After enjoying a fun lunch I needed to go to SLC to get an axle for Larry.  I meant to take his truck to lunch so I could just leave from there but I forgot.  I had to drive home and get his truck and so I asked Kimleighel to go with me.  The traffic was crazy on the other side of the freeways, those heading North.  It was thick and slow for a long ways.  I was glad we were heading South and I prayed that all the congestion would be gone when we headed back that way.  For the most part it was a lot better but it was still kind of slow.  It took us three hours which was a little longer than I had planned on it taking but not much.  We were still home in time for Kimleighel to have her Movie Night with her friends.

Larry and I went to dinner.  I really have a hard time eating again after going out but I like leftovers so I don't mind.  Plus, I'm not going to turn down a date with my Honey.  We went to Olive Garden and it was yummy.  I ate a little salad and lasagna bites that are meant to be an appetizer.  That was good enough for me.  We got to sit in a corner and we were glad because it was a busy place and we liked being out of the way.  A young couple from out our way were getting seated and they hadn't seen us and so Larry threw his cloth napkin at the cute wife.  It was funny.  We shared our thoughts about their cute family with them when we were leaving.  I think it's good to let others know the goodness you see in them.  Sharing kindness makes the giver and receiver feel good so it's a win, win situation.

Our driveway was full of cars when we got home.  Sixteen people had come to Kimi's movie night.  I was happy to see so many support her.  I guess we had some guests here until 3:00 am.  I didn't hear them.  Everyone was suppose to bring treats to share but we didn't see any.  Larry decided to run to the store and get some Pop and chips and I made some popcorn.  I also brought the cookies over to the bar so they were available.  I think the kids appreciated the treats because a lot got eaten.  I know Kimleighel did too.  I want to give Kimi credit for cleaning up so great.  No dishes were in the sink this morning and the bar was cleared.  She put everything away and there weren't any signs of having a group of friends over at all.  I hope she does it again.  I love having kids in our home!

Hooper Honey's Celebrating Kellie

Woo Hoo...I love celebrating birthdays!  I love this fun group that I call the Hooper Honey's.  They crack me up and I might need to add how funny they are.  The Funny Hooper Honey's.  No lie, we laugh every time we get together.  Sometimes we are very serious too but we usually find something to laugh at.  These gals are clever and funny and it's so much fun sharing our lives with each other. Everyone's lives right now are pretty good.  Not too many worries which is a nice thing.

I thought it was awesome how we all kind of matched today.  Usually I'm the odd gal out with bright pink on.  I think I will ask everyone to wear red, white and blue for my celebration!

We went to Burch Creek Mercantile on Washington Blvd.  It's a quaint little sandwich shop.  It's a place that brings back childhood memories.  It's really cute and the food is yummy too.  I like that it's not so crowded and you can actually visit and enjoy each other.

We chatted for a few hours before we all had to leave.  It was a very wonderful and fun lunch!  I love these Funny Hooper Honey's!

Thursday

The Bailey's Cabin

Today our Daughters of Pioneers Group went up to Robin and Durks cabin at Bear Lake.  These women are so much fun.  The drive both ways went fast because there was so much chatting.  I did a lot of listening.  I learned a lot but can't remember it now. haha  The water is so high this year.  I couldn't quite get over how close it is compared to a few years ago.  It was so pretty just sitting at the table and looking out the window.  I had the best view from the cabin.  It was a little chilly outside and so I stayed in.  We had taco salad for lunch and it was yummy.  Then some of us shared a treat that was suppose to remind us of our childhood.  I told them all about Honey Comb and how we would always get it when my grandma Bessie came to visit.  I love it because of that memory.  I didn't go get any and so I shared some banana cookies I made.  I am pretty sure my yummy banana cookies will be remembered by my kids and grands.

We played a little game where we showed one of our scars and told a few stories about how we got it.  We made up two stories and one was real.  It was fun listening to everyone tell their stories.  I was pretty good at knowing the true story but will admit I was wrong a few times.  We have a few good story tellers in this group.  I fooled a few ladies too so I might be one of them.  Most of the stories were true but not the reason for the scare.  It was fun and we laughed a lot.

Kim Vaughn shared some stories that he has wrote with us.  It was fun listening to him.  His stories were of his life and so they were interesting and great.  It was a really fun day.

Wednesday

cuties at my house/blood drive

I love summers.  Summers mean more grands more often.  I just think it's fun having these cute faces in my home.  I love them so much.  Today Kevin brought the older girls to play.  Sweet Jordyn wore out and feel asleep on the floor.  The twins went to daycare...they get to go there once a week in the summer.  Trichelle brought her fun boys over awhile later for Kimi to watch. Oh how they all make my heart happy.  I love everything about them.

While they were there today I made cookies.  I really thought the girls would want to help me but they didn't today.  Kamryn wanted to color some pictures for the book I'm doing and Jordyn just wanted to watch her princess movies.  I know Kamryn likes to bake but not today.  I don't bake like I use to and truthfully it's because things don't get eaten as quickly with everyone gone.  Since Jared left I am really noticing a difference.  I am throwing more food out that isn't getting eaten (even pasta salad) and the ding dongs I buy are still in the drawer when I want one.  Jared ate more than I thought.  I miss my boy but wouldn't want him here right now.  I know he needs to be on a mission and I'm thrilled that he is.
One of Larry's responsibilities as a High Councilman is the Stake Blood Drive.  So that means that I get to help out too.  I go over and unlock the building and then I sign people in.  I'm pretty much there the whole day.  I like visiting with people though and so the time usually goes pretty fast.  Today it got a little slow around 3:30.  We still had people there but people weren't coming like they should have been.  I decided that I would donate since it was slow.  The only good thing about donating is that I met Mataya.  She's a darling girl.  We talked and of course my mommy brain went right to Jaydan.  We talked about the two of them getting together and she is so sweet so said she would be happy to go out with him.  I hope he asks her soon.  I know they talked that night but a date wasn't set.

My blood didn't flow like it usually does.  I wasn't able to fill the bag and so my blood will only be used for testing.  I just don't think the needle was in the vein right.  It hurt and was too close to the tendon.  Janet Foster made my day though.  She told me that she had looked over at me while she was donating and was admiring how young and youthful I looked.  Man, a compliment can sure add a heap of happiness to your heart quickly.   I had to give her a hug.  Those kind words were needed, which makes me think we always need them. I'm going to be better at sharing kind words with others.

A few hours after I donated I got kind of sick.  I was holding my cute Jack while Kelsi donated and I got feeling a little shaky.  I told Larry that I was going home and would be back if I felt better.  I never went back.  I chilled and fevered the rest of the night.

Jared Made it to Alaska

Yesterday morning a received a "surprise" call from Jared.  I was so excited.  It was so great hearing his voice.  He was just getting ready to board his flight to Alaska.  He sounded great. He shared a little secret with me.  He told me that he really didn't like his first two weeks in the mission.  I would have been surprised if he would have.  Missions are a big change.  I knew that studying everyday and having someone around you 24/7 might not be his favorite.  He told me that it was all good though.  I realized that my brain is so focused on seeing the good that I was able to read his letters as if he were enjoying everything thoroughly. I told him that too...I guess if he wants me to know he isn't happy, he is going to have to spell it out for me because everything I read between the lines is great.

He mentioned that when he arrived in Alaska that things were very different but that he would get use to it.  I reminded him how the other boys must have felt when they arrived in their missions not being able to understand a word of what was being said.  I hope Elder Ropelato will practice focusing on the good and manifesting great things.  I reminded him to be the very best companion that he could be and if he did he would enjoy his companions.

I'm so excited for Jared's journey.  It's going to be amazing.  He is going to be amazing.  This kid is so humble and kind and is going to be a blessing to everyone who gets to know him.  I'm so blessed to be his momma.  Man....he's a handsome guy!

Tuesday

Celebrating Kellie

Kellie had a birthday last week!  Woot Woot!  We had planned on going to lunch the day before her birthday but things didn't work out and so we had to reschedule. (I've had to reschedule a lot this year with my friends...weird)  We decided to go to Even Steven's.  It's a quaint little place in Ogden and is pretty good.  It was great just visiting with Kellie.  I really enjoy one on one time.  I'm so grateful that this sweet friend came into my life and that make time to visit every now and then.  Kellie is pure sweetness.  She is really wonderful about taking care of others.  She's a terrific mom and grandma.  She always puts everyone's feelings before her own.  She so concerned for the well being of others.  Her heart is tender and caring.  I'm so glad this girl was born and that our paths crossed and that we have each other now and forever.  Kellie's a saint that is for sure.  (she would laugh at that and probably deny it...but she really is)

I admire Kellie and try to follow her good example.  Kellie is also very funny.  She has a great sense of humor and we can be serious and then funny and it works.  Life is pretty darn good because I am surrounded by some of the best people born!

Sunday

grands and simplifying

Today I got to enjoy the cuteness of Kevin's little's.  Kevin has football twice a day now and so he needed a little help with his cuties.  That's one of the things about summer that I love at this time in my life.  I get to help out with Kev's little's more often than usual.  The other grands get to come play more often but since Kevin's little ones go to daycare during the year I really don't see them as much.  It was so much fun having them all.  They are so good and the twins are pretty easy now.  I love watching them compete with each other.  I love how Kamryn and Jordyn are such good big sisters.  I really did enjoy having them all for the day.  It was so fun!  I really loved all the cheesy smiles and loves they so freely give.
Tonight we had a family meeting.  Larry and I have come to a time in our life that we really need to simplify.  We have a lot of loose ends and stuff.  Most of our big stuff has served it's purpose and it's time to get it out of here.  The very thought of getting rid of things is pretty wonderful.  The heaviness of having it all is lightened.  Things like the boat, pool table, hockey table, pop a shot, land, time-shares, punch bowls (I have 2 and don't use them), dishes and decorations.  We even thought about down sizing our home but we won't until Jared returns....then maybe even then we won't.  I like it here and I think I will like it even more after purging.

We have a goal now to really get things in order so that we will be ready to serve a mission when Jared gets home and settled.  I'm really feeling the greatness of setting goals and being specific about them.  Having time limits and such...it's empowering.

While we were meeting I had some of the grands draw some pictures for the book I am doing.  I'm pretty darn excited about it.

I felt relieved after meeting with the kids.  They are all fine with us getting rid of things.  Some of the things will be going to them and I really like that too.  I'd love to see our toys enjoyed still by our family.

The next few years are all about preparing for the next big step in our lives.  I'm excited/nervous but I know it will all be good because we are being lead by the best....Heavenly Father.  With God nothing is impossible and everything always works out!  YeeHaw!

Awaken Seminar

I love attending the Awaken Seminars.  They remind me of a big Youth Conference.  You learn from speakers who involve the audience and want feed back. Then they have activities to implement the things you learn.  I go with an open mind/heart to receive inspiration from God.  Being in this atmosphere prepares me for inspiration.  Things just come to my mind that I know would not normally just show up.  I like that and find it fascinating.
Trichelle brought her family to the Hypnotist show and Zaden laughed so hard...it was fun!

This conference was awesome.  We had some really great instruction on how we can each improve ourselves which will improve our own life.  We had some cool breakthrough activities.  One that really hit me this time was a simple one.  We partnered up and shared a story of us being a victim.  I don't have much but as a child I did "create" things.  I felt kind of dumb but also very blessed that I had something so small to claim as my "victim" story.  My partner's story was big.  We shared how we felt as victims with each other.  I cried out of pure love and compassion as my partner shared her story with me.  I didn't know her before we became partners but I loved her...unconditionally.  We also put ourselves in the villain's shoes and spoke for them.  Trading places really helped me get a better understanding for my "villain". (who isn't really a villain at all)  During that exercise I realized I was given things in my childhood because I was strong enough to handle them.  I was given those things to help me grow and guide me to another path.  I was given those things out of ignorance and jealousy.  I truly believe they weren't meant to hurt me like they did.  I was the target of releasing to help that person heal.  I also was shown how truly blessed I have been in my life.  How protected and loved I have always been.
Kimleighel's favorite activity was when we had to make a declaration about our highest self.  We said three things that described us at are highest/true selves.  Mine were: Heavenly, Kind and Delightful.  Then we finished it with something like...king, princess, warrior etc.  Mine was Daughter of God.  So if someone asked me who I was I would say: I am heavenly, kind, and delightful a daughter of God.  Then they said "yes, you are!" and I would respond with: "thanks, I know!"  It was empowering. I loved how it's ok and even good to be able to own our greatness and encourage others to do the same.  We are all so much more than we give ourselves credit for!
Gerald's brother, Clint came and spoke to us and that was such a blessing. Clint is such a fabulous and spiritual person.  Clint has been studying with a master healer from the Himalayas for the last few years.  I loved everything about Clint.  He asked 3 questions and that is what they do when they heal others.
1. What would you do/be if you knew you would succeed?
2. What would you do/be if you had $10 Million in the bank?
3. What would you do/be if you knew you had only 6 months left to live?
We pressed the tip of our pointer finger and the answer to those questions was clear in our minds.

My answers had to do with blessing the lives of others by helping them know of their greatness.  It was awesome.

He had a few ladies go on stage who suffered with severe pains throughout their bodies.  After they answered those questions, Clint pushed a few pressure points and patted their head and cheeks a little and pressed on their backs to release the blockages they were holding.  It was amazing and I was feeling a little jealous that I didn't raise my hand higher because my back was really aching at the time.  I did know that the ladies chosen needed it more than me though.  Then Clint have us all a gift and told us a little trick that would relieve our aches.  It was so simple and immediately it worked.  Trichelle was sitting behind me and noticed that I sat right up.  I couldn't feel any pain at all.  It was amazing.  I know that God blessed others with healing powers and those gifts are from Him.
We walked bare-feet on broken glass and that is when I knew that I wasn't playing with a full deck.  I really wasn't coming up with anything and a gal I was sitting by asked me a few questions and that "thought" came up.  I couldn't think of anything and nothing came to my mind when we broke arrows and so I passed on that one.  I'm not afraid of breaking an arrow by putting in on my throat and walking into it but when nothing came up I decided I wasn't going to dig anything up.  I don't know why but that felt right for me.
We learned about manifesting the things we want.  Actually we all do it all the time by the things we say.  Our thoughts are so empowering!  We learned about health and finances and how to improve in those areas.  We learned about being in alignment with God and accepting His plan even when it doesn't look like our plan.
We were told to set goals.  To tell those goals to our tribe and friends so that we would be more committed to them.  Even then I wasn't sure what goals to make and so I decided that I would make time to work on the computer for 2 hours in the mornings to keep up on my journal, family picture books and Jared's missionary journal.  I also decided that I would consciously "pay it forward" to someone every day.  I wrote a list of ideas to accomplish that.  I was feeling good about my goal but I knew that wasn't stepping up like I knew I needed to.
Today Larry and I went to the Temple and I was told what I need to do.  I wasn't thinking about anything at the time the revelation came but I recognized it when it did.  I really know that my purpose in life is to help others see their greatness.  Are you curious what I was told to do?  I am to write a Children's Book.  It will be called "Little One, You Are Loved".  It will be simple but powerful.  It's not one bit overwhelming to me.  My grands will provide the art for the book.  Simple as that!  I'm excited.  Then I was told to do a separate book for older kids.  It will be called "Happy to be Me.".  It is also very simple and will filled with positive affirmations.  I'm so excited because I know this idea is God's and not mine. I get to be the instrument and receive the blessings from doing it.  I love "Playing" with God and having Him guide and direct me.

I know that the last three days were preparing me to receive that little inspiration.  I know that I am also suppose to team lead at these conferences.  I want to be more involved in helping others and this is a way I can be.  I actually saw myself doing something like this at the last seminar I attended.  I am being blessed and I'm excited about the things I am suppose to do.
