Monday

An Extra Day...Some Extra Kindness

Today is Leap Day...We get one more day of the year and so I decided I would take advantage of my extra day by showing some extra kindness. A few days ago I took my "chocolate money" that I save in my chocolate fund bank and bought lots of chocolate.  Like $58 worth of chocolate.  I just have to say...I share!  I put an assortment of chocolate in a few cute bags and made a little card for them.

One was a thank you for always being so thoughtful and kind to me.  The other was to brighten a friends day that has been going through a rough time.  The bag had "bigger" chocolate and was for a friend that is always there for me and others.  I also took a little gift to another friend who's mom passed away.  This gal always has lots of candy and chocolate around her house so I didn't take her more. I did take some of hers with me after we visited when I was leaving. ☺

The kindness and chocolate might have brightened those friends days but it for sure brightened mine.  Kindness is kind of like preparing a lesson in church.  The giver gets a lot more out of it.

Talented Kids

My niece started a photography business about a year ago.  Randee is very talented and I have loved the pictures she has done of my kids and grands. Randee puts a lot of thought into her sessions and the results are fabulous!
Braxton is an adventurous kid and likes to do fun things.  He built this awesome airplane for his cute Sadie.  I think they both love it!  Braxton is talented and likes creating fun! No wonder Sadie is such a happy little girl!

Saturday

The Circle of Life

As I started this post the thought "Out with the Old...In with the New" popped into my head.  It fits...that's kind of how the day went.

Maxine Muir Van Rensselaer (Grandma Lowe's Sister) was put to rest this morning.  She lived in California along with her two children for many years and so they had her funeral services there and then brought her body to Ogden as her resting spot.  I always admired Maxine and thought she was so classy.  She was happy and wonderful and as I listened to her kids, Francine and Bob speak of her I smiled because we are similar in a few ways.  Maxine had different groups of friends that she liked going to lunch with.  She was a lover of friends and family....they are most important to her.  I liked her white casket and told Larry that I would prefer one just like that.  The graveside service was short and sweet.  Maxine was always concerned about others being hungry and so after the service upon her request everyone went to lunch.  (we left and went to Behr's blessing)
It's always nice seeing extended family and it was that way today.  I really love Larry's relatives and appreciate the little opportunities every now and then to say Hi to them and get a hug.
Behrenger Scott Barrow was blessed today by his Grandpa Ropelato.  It was an honor for Larry to give this cutie a blessing.  It was awesome to see the love and support of both families.  This happened on a Saturday because a lot of TJ's family had to drive far and it just worked out better for them.  It was nice and we had a yummy lunch afterwards at the church too.

Jaydan didn't realize Behr's blessing was on a Saturday and so he missed it. (darn)  The rest of our family was there and my mom came too. (actually Braxton and Kelsi brought her)  It's always a wonderful day when our family is together.

I met more of TJ's family and they are really nice.  It was fun to watch TJ.  He is such a proud daddy.
Later in the day Larry took me to our friends (the Hunters) for a baby shower.  It was fun visiting with the Hunter family.  We use to go with them boating when our kids were little and it was easier to schedule things.  Now we hardly see them but we will forever love them.

Friday

Stress...we all get it

My hands are still itching and peeling but not quite as bad as they were months ago but every day I'm reminded that things aren't quite right as I scratch the dickens out of my hands.  I wish I could scratch the stress out of them.  My hands have been this way for over 6 months and so I am getting use to them but it still bugs me.  I thinks it's related to stress.  I had a very vivid thought while I was at Bear Lake with my friends that "things were out of my hands".

I can't control or fix or change a lot of things and I guess some of that stresses me out. I can't make everyone better, or pray hard enough for trials not to come our way, or keep everyone safe, or make sure everyone learns what they are being taught, or control who gets our loved ones attention, or have my kids meet the right people, or make sure that people we love and care about don't delete us from their lives.  I worry like I'm sure we all do.  I tuck those feelings deep down and put on my happy face and think positive and have faith that everything will be okay.  But...those feelings are real and they are there and no matter how hard I try not to be bothered by them...my body knows and lets me know.  The doctor put me on high blood pressure medicine a few weeks ago too and that ticks me off.  I have enjoyed not having to take medicines.  I loved being healthy and always having good check ups. I was happy that I didn't have to depend on taking medicines to keep me healthy.

I'm not sure how to free myself from the stress.  Do we ever really free ourselves from it all?  I don't think it's possible but I am hoping that I will figure out a way to ease what's going on inside me.  I seriously don't think that things are bothering me and I don't feel stressed but my body and especially my hands and blood pressure tell me different.  I'm amazed at our bodies...they are pretty darn smart.
Today I met my cute friend Jodi to go see our friend Robin.  I was close to the hospital and was planning on going and checking on Robin while we were up that way. I was glad that Jodi text to see if I wanted to go with her.  I was watching Behr while Kimleighel got her teeth cleaned and checked and the timing was just about right and so we met.  I loved seeing Jodi hold my cute grand and love on him.  It makes my heart do amazing things.  Carla, Jodi and Mallory all like holding my grands if they're around when I have them.  That makes me happy. ☺  Robin was doing pretty good even though we woke her to visit with her.  I hope that this experience will help her to change some things in her life.  I want her around for a long time!
***Sunday in church I received a few thoughts that I think will help me with my stress.  I am preparing to teach about the Atonement in a few weeks and the atonement is the answer.  I need to trust in the Atonement and give my stress to Christ.  I think a Priesthood Blessing would help too.  It's crazy how I immediately think of having others get them but I'm not so good at asking for one myself.

In Relief Society our lesson fit right in and I know it is an answer to my problem.  I took a picture of the board so I could remember better.
Recently I had heard we should meditate every day and I did it for a few days and then forgot.  I really think that will help a ton.  I know I also need to ponder and let my feelings be acknowledged and then give them up.  I am always trying to improve my scripture study and I really liked the advice that was brought up today.  *Set a time to read every day.  I know when I write things down I am more apt to do them.  *Start small...even just holding the scriptures..don't make it harder than it should be.  *Find out what works for me. * Reward yourself....I'm thinking about having chocolate while I study the scriptures. *Write down questions I need answers to.  *Use the study guide.
I do know that we find answers to our problems in the scriptures....truthfully I didn't realize I had such a problem.  It's time to wake up and do something different.  I also think a walk to the corner every day will help clear my mind and refresh my soul.

Thursday

Thankful this Thursday

While I was at bowling trying to get those pins to fall done, I noticed some messages from "messenger".  I was shocked to open them up and read that Robin had a massive Heart Attack and was in surgery for four hours  to have a stint put in her artery to unclog it!  Scary! I'm glad that she is okay.  Times like this make me realize how fragile life is and how at any minute one of us could be gone.  I really like how loving and supporting the "sista's" are to each other.  I kept reading the love and concern others had for Robin.  I was happy that some went to visit her and I loved reading how Robin had them laughing.  Robin is good at telling stories and her sarcastic side really is hilarious.

After bowling I went to Daughters of Utah Pioneers.  I love learning about the pioneers and being around good women.  Robin Bailey shared a story of one of Durk's ancestors today and it was really quite interesting.  She did a good job.  Those people went through some pretty crazy things like we do.  Marriage has never been easy.  People cheat and are not always good to their spouse.  Life is hard but with God's help it's easier to handle.

I came home and made up a few  "I Care Bags" that I plan on giving out later.  Then for Special Needs we went to Weber States Game.  Oh my heck it was fun...especially listening to the girls cheer.  It was fun to watch a few of the girls who are always helping the others.  We had a few that were going and getting drink for the ones that don't like walking and climbing stairs.  We had one crying because she wanted a drink and soon someone was going to get her one.  Dyan got this all together and had even brought everyone treats.  I work with such wonderful ladies and I love them all.  We saw Wanda on our way out and I really miss her.  She was a super President!

On the way home a few of the gals share their experiences of being suicidal and even trying to take their life because of how hard it is at times.  I am so thankful that they didn't and that they are still with us because they are so great and make my life better.  They are a blessing to many and really the two that shared are so happy right now that I would have never guessed they had felt that way.  I learn so much about these girls every week.  I learned that Emily was married to the cute guy she brought last week.  I'm getting to the point I am starting to ask them all if they are married or have been. ☺

When I got home Larry told me that his dad had been over to visit with us.  His dad has prostrate cancer and because of his age they aren't going to do anything for it.  That makes me sad....I like having dad around and even though I know the time is ticking away for each of us I don't want it to stop.

I'm thankful for each and every day and for those I get to share my days with.  Everyone holds a special place in my heart!  Life Really is a Gift!

Wednesday

Wonderful Wednesday

I absolutely love starting my day by going to the Temple.  Today I went with Janet and Cindy because the rest of their group couldn't make it.  The workers know me already and they are so kind and nice.  Today we needed Brother Peterson to get his robes on because we didn't have any men with us and you need a man to do sealings.  Thank goodness another guy felt impressed to do sealings today so that he could relive Brother Peterson.  As always it's wonderful listening to the promises and blessings of the ordinances in the Temple.  I feel like I am doing a good thing when I go to the Temple.  I know that it is where I need to be as often as I am able.  (I caught Janet's head in the pic)

My visiting teachers came today and they are such a joy to me.  I love giving them treats and had a few different ones today for them since our visit in January was over the phone.  Ruth and Jeanenne are some of my favorite people ever!
I haven't visited with Lorrilee for about a year and so we went to lunch today.  Lorrilee is a happy and positive gal that is fun to visit with.  I admire her a whole lot and I'm glad we were finally able to catch up and enjoy each others company for a few hours.  I swear Lorrilee doesn't age.  Neither does her cute hubby Ron.  She's 15 years older than me but no one would be able to tell that.  I learn a lot of good things from Lorr.
Ivy invited to me to her 5th grade History event.  All the kids were someone from History and had to do reports on their person and dress up like them.  Ivy was Amelia Earhart...I thought she looked cute.  All the kids introduced themselves and a few gave a brief report about their character.  They all sang songs and it was fun seeing Ivy enjoy singing.  We were the back row but it was fun because we could stand and wave and give thumbs up without anyone else seeing.  Ivy told us about Amelia when we got home and let me just say she knew a lot! Ivy is such a cutie.  I love that both kids wanted me to come over after the program...they love their gramma like their gramma loves them.

I saw my cousin, Kristi at the program.  Kristi's mom and my dad are siblings.  Kristi has twin granddaughters with pretty red hair that go to school with Ivy.  It was fun seeing her and we decided it was time to get together with our other cousins.  Again, because of social media we are connected and can make this happen.

Tuesday

Temple Tuesday

Today I went to the Temple twice.  I got up and met Kathy and Lisa there early so that we could go through a session together and then have our day to do other things.  We met early so that we could make the 9:00 session and even though the traffic was busier than any of us planned we were all plenty early and had time to relax before going to the session.  (we all thought we were going to be late...we really missed Jodi too....she didn't have a car today)  The session was nice as always.  I love listening and learning new things.  It was fun wonderful being there with friends.
We decided to go to Kneaders after for a quick meal.  Lisa and Kathy were both going visiting teaching and needed to get home.  I needed to stop by the store before heading home.  So we chose Kneaders because it is fast.  I really enjoyed seeing Lisa since I haven't for so long.  We tried catching up quickly and I think we skimmed the surface of some of the most recent things happening.

I hadn't been home long before Larry got home.  He showered and we went to the Temple again.  Since I had already done a session and we really only have one more family name to take and because there was a sign at the front desk saying they needed people to help with Sealings we went there.  It was nice and I felt "extra" people in the room a few times.  I love knowing that we are not alone and others are around us more than we know.  My friends dad was the Sealer and so he kept stopping and asking me questions that took me back in time and down memory lane.  I'm not sure how that was for the others in the room but for me it was wonderful.  I love going to the Temple and I love going to the Temple with Larry.
Larry took the kids out for dinner and I met Tonya for dinner.  We needed to talk and see each other since it doesn't happen often enough.  Tonya wasn't feeling well.  I swear the inversion made a lot of people sick and I'm glad it's gone.  I love Tonya.  I love having her be a part of my journey through life.  She always seems to say the right things.  I was thinking how cool it really is that each of us are blessed to be God's instrument when He needs us.  Friends are so refreshing and important in this life and the next!  I have some of the very best!

Monday

A Peaceful Day

I got to have Parker and Macie over to play today so that Natalie could go on a Field Trip with Mya.  Poor little Macie has been pretty sick with bronchitis but was happy to come and play.  We watched cartoons and snuggled.  Parker had fun playing on my I Pad...they only get to when they are the only ones here.  It was nice having them over and we just chilled.

Natalie was back when I got back from taking Parker to School.  She stayed and talked while Macie fell asleep in my arms.  Natalie and I had a good chat about balancing life...or at least trying to.  We talked about the struggles we all get and how we are constantly adjusting our lives to handle what we have to.

Life isn't easy that is for sure but it can be pretty wonderful when we focus on what's important and adjust so that the most important things get our attention.

I love Natalie as well as my other "kids in luv".  I think I have a pretty good relationship with them all.  I hope that they will always trust me if they need to talk.  Now, I'm trusting in the power of prayer and the knowledge of doctors to get everyone better!

Sunday

Saturday is a Busy Day

Not all Saturdays are as packed and busy as today was...thank goodness.  We usually start the day off with a basketball game and piano lessons but today we had forgot about piano lessons and Jared went to work.  Natalie wasn't feeling very good and text us to say we would wait...whew! (we forget a lot)

Durk and Robin Bailey celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary and their kids planned a great party for them.  We knew about this for weeks and were excited to attend.  I really felt special because the kids mentioned a few times that the people invited were their dearest friends.  Durk and Robin are wonderful people and neighbors.  When we first met they volunteered to stay with our five kids so we could go to Italy.  Robin is one of the kindest people I know.  She's an "Angel" on Earth.  Robin and Durk have style.  They are funny how they handle things some times.  Robin has taught me so much over the years and I am a better person because of her.  I admire her so much.  She is just so kind and is always serving others.  Durk and Robin get credit for the way my kids turned out.  They let them come to their house to play and both taught them valuable things.  Robin taught a few of my kids how to tie shoes, how to make rolls and even pies.  I know she taught them more and was always nice to let them come and play.  Even my grands ask if they can go to Robin's to play.

I enjoyed hearing the things Corrie, Bill and Jameal shared about their parents.  The video they made was really cute.  It was fun watching Durk and Robin grow up.  As I watched  it was fun to see that a few of their grand kids take after them.  It was a great celebration.  It was held at the Maddox Lodge.  I love Durk and Robin and their cute family!

While we were at the Anniversary Party, Lori Brinkerhoff's kids were throwing her a surprise party since she is now 50.  At about the same time Tammy Nye was having a baby shower for her daughter, Stephanie who is expecting their first.  I ran over a gift since I couldn't make it.
As soon as we got home from Durk and Robin's we had enough time to pick up Jared and Kimleighel and go to Sadie's birthday party.  It's fun going into that cute house that started out as Trichelle's.  (Trichelle still owns it)  It's fun having family fill it again to love and support each other.  Sadie was playing on the floor when I walked in and she wanted me to hold her.  That simple little act just lights up my heart. The house continued to fill as more cousins came.  I feel bad that Kelsi's parents and sister weren't in any of my pictures...I only got Kelsi's grandma.  Kelsi has a great family and I really love them all.  All my kids married into good families.
Everything looked so cute.  I really liked that Kelsi put up Sadie's cute pictures she has done at Day Care.  Cute little hand and feet print pictures.  Her little prints are so small and cute.  Braxton decorated Sadie's cake that she got to dig into.  He did a great job and again I had a proud moment.  My boys are talented!  Sadie was careful with her cake and it took her awhile to really get much of it but by the end she had it picked up and was eating it.  She actually ended up sitting on it. ☺  What a cutie!  I love Sadie and it was fun celebrating her year of life with her.
Braxton made Sadie a cute airplane.  It has brackets on the wings so it can be hung.  Braxton is a talented and creative kid that isn't afraid to try anything.  I love seeing all that my kids do...they are pretty awesome!
Behrenger enjoyed his cupcake while Sadie enjoyed her cake!

Friday

Kent Widdison

Sadie came to play again today so that her mommy and daddy could go to the Temple.  I had forgot to put it on the calendar and was kind of embarrassed that I hadn't remembered even when Kelsi said something about it Thursday morning. (I thought Kimi was watching her again)  I did remember once we started talking about it.  I had planned on watching Sadie and then going to lunch with my Hooper Honey's.  We had a change of plans though after Kent Widdison passed away.

Kent passed away on Valentines Day after fighting cancer for nine years.  We all knew his time was limited.  On Fast Sunday, Dale Widdison had shared with our ward that he had gone to Kents and gave him a blessing to release him from this world.  Kent waited two more weeks before taking that step.  Kent was a great man with a great family.  It was mentioned over and over again how smart he was even though "he forgot" to attend school.  He was known for wearing Sun Glasses to church.  He said it was so people couldn't see him cry. One of his sons said maybe it was also so no one could tell if he went to sleep.  The family had a darling picture of Kent and his twelve grand kids all wearing sunglasses.
I think this picture might have been taken one of the last times Kent came to church.  I remember Kent sharing his testimony just a few months ago.  I also remembering standing by Kent's hospital bed a few years ago as I watched the Bishop Ropelato give Kent a Priesthood Blessing.  Kent was a fighter and kept fighting for years.  He was a happy man with a strong testimony.  I'm glad I knew him.

To show my appreciation to Kimleighel for taking such good care of my grands and having my back so I could go to Kent's Funeral, I took her to lunch and then shopping.  Kimi is so good and has chosen to let go of her friends since they are on a different path than her.  She doesn't really like being home so much and would really enjoy going out with friends but she really wants to do what is right and her friends pull her the other way.  Kimleighel is radiant and her countenance is so good.  She is happy more than she isn't and portrays happy even if she's sad.  She asked if anyone wanted to hang out on Friday and two of her sister in luvs replied and invited her to join them in their plans.  That made Kimleighel so happy.  We talked about how family should be the ones always there for us and how ours always is.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I had fun shopping with Kimi even though shopping isn't really my thing.   We made plans to shop together again on her birthday....that's what she wants to do and so I will.

Thursday

Good/Bad/Good

Today started and ended great but the middle was a little rough.  Sadie Lou came to play with Kimi.  I love that Sadie likes this gramma and always reaches for me.  It just warms my soul.  It was fun seeing her and holding her for a bit before I went bowling.

I bowled really good my first game and then Julie called.  Julie had just got back the results of her 3-D ultrasound and the doctor had just called her to let her know that their baby girl has water on her brain.  Any kind of unexpected news is hard and this was not what any of us wanted to hear.  My heart went out to Kevin and Julie...it broke a little because I knew their's were breaking a little.  Julie is so wonderful and tried to be positive...it might not be too bad, we can handle and do hard things, our families are so supportive and everything will be okay.  She's right everything will be okay but that doesn't take away the hurt or disappointment.  I struggled my second game because my eyes kept leaking even though I was trying to be positive.  I really do know that things happen for several reasons.  I know that miracles still happen and maybe we will get one.  I also know that God has a plan for each of us and some times a miracle isn't part of that plan.  (I really want the miracle)

I am not one to keep things to myself.  I need the love and support of family and friends.  Once Julie sent a text to each of us I shared the news with my team.  Later I let a few other friends know what was happening asking for their prayers.  I know God hears and answers prayers.  Even if we don't get our miracle we will be blessed by the prayers.

The Special Needs group put on a Fireside Tonight and it was fabulous.  The spirit was so strong and I felt so much peace.  I love this group of people.  I was so impressed with the talks they shared and the music.  It was such a great program that us leaders want it to be an annual event.  My heart was filled with joy as I drove home.  I was so pleased that Braxton, Kelsi and Sadie came to the meeting too.  They came to support me since I always support them.  It was so thoughtful and I really appreciated them for taking the time.

The intensity of my prayers increased today.  Isn't that how it goes?  I pray all the time but not all my prayers are as intense as they are right now.  We want things to turn out a certain way...but we trust in our Father and will accept His way.

Wednesday

Women's Club

A few weeks ago Ann asked me if I would speak to her Hooper Women's Club about Jared's book and experience.  I told her that I'd be honored to do so.  I wasn't nervous at all which is quite unlike me.  I think I must be being blessed.  I was asked to take 30-40 minutes and when I noticed the time was up everyone said to keep going.  So, I shared more experiences that happened because Jared took the wrong path first.  Jared's adventure triggered more stories and experiences for many more people.

There really is so much more that happened than just having a lost boy scout.  Testimonies were strengthened, prayers were answered, and miracles happened.  I am grateful that I had the opportunity to share some of those experiences with women that I admire and look up to.
Ann's introduction was so sweet and wonderful.  She sure made me feel like I am doing something right.

Fun Bunch Lunch

I have more pictures with this group of ladies than any other group.  It's because we look for "kodak moments" or maybe we just create "kodak moments".  The Hooper Honey's don't mind getting pictures either which I think is fun.  I like having all these crazy fun pictures because it helps me remember all the fun we have....and we DO have a lot of fun!
Jodi and I had talked about going to lunch this day but we had forgot to make up an invite and so Jodi just posted a message about it.  We had as good (or better) turn out than we normally get.  We went to the Greenery.
Kathy noticed that it was National Random Act of Kindness Day and so she brought us all a few treats to give away if we wanted to.  I gave mine away as we were leaving the table.  Mandy Allen and Morgan Toomer were there eating and Mandy was excited to see me. (she is special needs and went to camp with us once)  Morgan is Mallory's daughter in luv and was taking her sis to lunch.  I figured they would love a treat.  They were very happy to get a treat. Carla preferred keeping her treats and decided to pay for my lunch as her act of kindness. (what a sweetie)

I didn't realize that it was National Random Acts of Kindness Day but did a random act of kindness on my way to pick up Carla and Kathy.  I noticed a stalled car off the side of the road with the hood up.  I stopped and turned my car around and tried "jumping" the lady but my jump didn't work.  I was glad that I had taken the time to try though especially when I found out what day it was. We should be kind every day though because being kind is being like Jesus. ☺
My battery was charged today by my fun friends.  All my friends make my life brighter and happier.

Temple~Good Morning

Last month at the Daughter of Utah Pioneers club, Lisea Allen invited me to join her and a group of friends who attend the Temple every Wednesday morning to do sealings.  I went last week too and am planning on going every Wednesday.  We are done early enough that it doesn't interfere with the day.  I love going to the Temple and figure I can use all the blessings I can get.  I know those on the other side of the veil are with us and help us and I need to do my part as well.

Sealings are nice because they are a bit more informal and we can chat a little.  I also like that we can move around.  I love hearing the promises and blessings too.  I love feeling the spirit and knowing that there are angels among us.

I'm so glad that Lisea invited me to join her and the others.  My days are just better when I start them at the temple.

Tuesday

Tuesday with Larry

I actually started the day by taking my friend to the doctor. Susan had surgery on her shoulder and needed a ride to the doctor.  I was thrilled that I was able to help her.  Both her girls are in Hawaii and her other kids and siblings had things.  I was glad.  I know it was hard for Susan to ask for help and she kept apologizing to me for taking up my time.  I asked her if she liked helping people and she smiled and I said "Me Too!".  I loved the time we had.  I loved visiting with Susan.  Susan is such a great friend and person.  I'm so glad that today I was able to serve her.
Larry has been sick with a cough so we didn't think it was a great idea to go to the Temple.  Besides, Larry made us both appointments at the Dentist to have a cleaning.  It's been three years since either of us had one. (oops)  I guess our insurance actually pays for cleanings now and so maybe I won't be such a slacker about going.  I found out why my bottom teeth are turning grey....they have cavities.  I have a bar/retainer behind my bottom teeth which makes it hard to floss and that's where the cavities are.  I'm just glad that my teeth can be fixed and that they really aren't just rotting away.  I have decided that I will ask Nate (our dentist and nephew) to take the bar off.  I think I will go have a plastic retainer made to wear at night instead.  I think it will make a huge difference.

After the dentist we went to Red Lobster because we had a gift card.  It was yummy and it was fun being with my cute hubby.  I only ate part of the coconut shrimp I ordered and so Larry had lunch for the next day.  Now a days I can only eat about half  of my meals which is nice because Larry does love the left overs.  I just think I should be getting thinner since I am consuming less calories...oh well.

Sadie Lou is 1

This little cutie is one and she is so much fun.  I can't believe how fast this year has went.  Little Sadie Lou is such a huge blessing.  She has been a fun baby.  She is so cute!  We absolutely adore this little girl.  She is adventurous or at least she acts like every adventure is fun.  She is easy going and goes along with everything, thank goodness because her daddy involves her in a lot.  She loves her family...and extended families.  She gets excited when she see's us.  I love everything about this little one.

Sadie likes being thrown in the air....really high.  It freaks me out the few times I have watched but she thinks its fun.  She likes food I think more than her bottle.  She loves stuffed animals and is easy to put down to bed if she has an animal to snuggle with.  Sadie smiles a lot and her smile lights up the room.  It is so big and cute!  I'm so thankful for Sadie and I'm glad that I get to see her so often.  I'm really glad I got to watch her the week her parents went to Hawaii...we bonded!

Happy Birthday Little Cutie Pie!

Monday

A "Grand" Tea Party

On Christmas all my grands got a tea cup from me so that we could have tea parties. (the boys got cool mugs)  Since there is not school on President's Day we decided it would be the perfect day for our tea party.  Every single little was able to come and we had so much fun! I had the table ready for them when they arrived.  I also had bow ties for the boys and scarfs for the girls to fancy up with.  They all looked so cute!  I have some of the cutest grands ever born!
We served hot chocolate from two of the tea pots and cran/raspberry & sprite from the other.  It was delightful.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.  I think everyone got filled up and then they were off to play.  (that's the real reason they all like coming over is to play together and build their friendships)  I love watching them all enjoy each other.
When everyone was finished eating and visiting at the table we started a little  craft project.  I wanted the grands to make pictures from their food prints.  I got the foot prints of the littlest ones first.  Jordyn was tired and needed a nap and so I did hers first.  Everyone was so good about getting their foot painted and washed up again after.  I have fun grands!
It took awhile to get everyone's prints done.  Everyone played until it was their turn.  Afterwards I got the brushes out and let them create their masterpieces.  My grands are very talented too!  Macie really got it to everything and is at such a fun age. The Younger grands were pleasant and enjoyed everything going on.
Everyone made two pictures...one to take home and one to leave here.  I want to put them upstairs in the room they play in.  I liked watching them create their pictures and choosing their favorite to take home.  I think every picture turned out cute. (I still need to finish Behr's and Jordy's)
The kids kept playing and enjoying each other.  It was such a fun day!  I'm excited for this new tradition that we started.  I sure adore these little ones so much!  They bring so much joy and happiness into our family!

Being a grand parents is such a blessing!  I love it so much!  I hope my grands will always want to come to our house to make memories!  Dang...They're so Cute!

Talks in Church and Connor

Larry and I had the opportunity to speak in the 3rd ward today.  I told the congregation that I was experiencing a little reverse dejavu.  When Bishop Rhoads was our High Councilman, Bishop Ropelato had him and his wife speak to us.  Bishop Rhoads had forgot but just wanted to hear from me as well since we got to know each other pretty good when he was over our ward.

I was asked to share experiences of how the Temple has blessed our marriage and our family.  Easy peasy huh?  I wasn't stressed or worried and kind of pointed out to Larry while he was studying and preparing his talk how mine was so easy.  I started with the scripture: Alma 34:32 "Behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors." There is no better place to prepare to meet God than in the Temple.  I shared some quotes and then experiences.  Attending the temple made more of a difference in our family than we realized.  I know for certain that I was a much nicer wife and mom when I attended the temple.  The temple just purifies our souls and enlightens are minds and makes us better.  The temple is so important and such a blessing.

I summed up my talk by saying: We go to the Temple to get answers to our prayers.  We go to the Temple to feel safe and loved.  We go to the Temple to have our families for eternity.

Larry spoke on how important it is to prepare ourselves and get to the temple.  He told everyone that if they were here at this meeting then they were almost ready to go to the temple....just a few more tiny steps.  He kept it simple and spoke of Elijah.  I know his talk gave people hope of being able to prepare themselves for the temple. Larry felt inspired to invite a sister from our ward to come listen because she is so close to going to the Temple.  They had a good talk later and she is getting herself ready.

Jared and I returned to church today so that Connor could give us the sacrament.  Connor has the priesthood and is so excited to be able to pass the sacrament.  This is one of those reasons it was important for Connor to be baptized.  Being able to pass the sacrament is such a blessing to Connor and those in his ward.  It was such a blessing to me to have my sweet friend give me the sacrament.  Connor beamed and tried so hard not to smile.  He wanted to be reverent and proper and did a really wonderful job.  We didn't stay for the whole meeting because heck we'd been to church already and was thought it was good that Jared even went back with me.  Connor is a blessing that's for sure.  His cute helper Cort is one heck of a kid too.

Jaydan is 25

Our family has been enjoying this cute kid for 25 years now!  What a blessing Jaydan is!  Jaydan has been known for wishing others a happy birthday by saying: "happy escape from your mothers womb day".  So twenty five years ago he did that.  He escaped and entered this world as blue as the doctors scrubs. He escaped even though he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck twice and tied in a square knot.  This weekend he escaped the luxury of living at home and has entered into another phase of his life.  I'm excited for him.

Today when he showed up for dinner he looked younger because he shaved all his facial hair!  I like that cute face!  I actually miss having him around and have enjoyed the last year when he was here so much.  Jaydan is a fun, kind, smart, loving, obedient son! I'm excited to see what comes next for him.  Because of his move he is now planning on getting another part time job.  He might be subbing at the schools and he might even be seen at Larry's shop later again.  Whatever he decides will be great.  Jaydan manages his money really good and likes having extra in the bank.  Ever now and then it's good to change things up!  I hope Jaydan's blessing this year will be huge!  I'm so glad this kid calls me mom!
I made some robot valentines for my grands because I love them a "bot"!!!

Saturday

Pedi's with my girls

I wasn't doing anything when Kimi called to ask me what I was doing.  Actually I had just turned on the computer and was going to add my blog posts to the new blog book I've started for this year.  She told me that her, Trichelle and Ivy were headed to get pedicures and they wanted to know if I wanted to join them.  Heck Yes!  I know it has only been a few weeks since my last one but I didn't care.  I will jump at every invite to spend time with my girls.  I told them to have a seat saved for me and I would leave right then.  It's a good thing they saved me a seat because the place was packed and people were even waiting.  The technicians were jumping back and forth from clients trying to keep everyone happy.  We had a good time.  Ivy chose to get her nails done instead of a pedicure and they turned out really cute.  They were short enough that they looked good and I think she will be able to still do whatever she wants without it feeling weird.  At first I was sitting at the other end of the row with lots of chairs between me and my girls and when a chair by them came open I asked to please be moved and the workers were happy to let me.  It was a lot more fun being by Trichelle and Kimleighel.  I enjoyed the massage chair while we soaked and got our pedicures.  Oh how I love pedicures....Oh how I love my girls!  Happy Day to Us!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Breakfast ~ What have you loved the most about this past week? I guess it would be that I have been able to Celebrate the Birth and Life of My Mom, Son and Neighbor! I love celebrating Birthdays!

Lunch ~ Briefly tell how you met your "love". Larry and I met at the Institute of Religion at Weber State in a Courtship and Marriage class.  We attended at this time of year and even had to write each other a Valentine.  The teacher had a Valentine with the class members name on each one sitting on a desk and strangely enough, Larry and I got each other.  He first asked me out at the Un-Party the institute had at Lagoon...I couldn't go with him for the day he asked and the story gets long after that.

Dinner ~ What are your plans for Valentine's Day? Jaydan's birthday is on Valentines Day and so we are having a dinner for him. All the kids will be here this week and so Larry ordered steaks...it will be a nice dinner.  Larry sent me Roses a few days ago and I'm going to make a Valentine treat for my grands.

Midnight Snack ~ List 10 things you LOVE about your life right now.
1. I love that I am able to attend the Temple often.
2. I love being able to help with my grands and see them every week.
3. I love that I my window of life is open and I have so many friends that I get to spend time with...my friends inspire me to be better!

Celebrating Robin

Robin turned 71 on Monday but sure doesn't look like it.  Robin is the best neighbor and such a great friend.  She helped me so much with my kids while they were growing up.  She let them go over to play and would give them treats and teach them things.  If my kids know how to tie their shoes it's probably because Robin taught them.  I remember her teaching Braxton how to make rolls and Kimi remembers Robin teaching her to make pies.  When Larry and I went to Italy back in 1994, Robin and Durk volunteered to watch our kids.  Robin encouraged me to get Jaydan potty trained first before we left and since he was ready it took me only a few hours and he was trained.  I give credit to Robin since I wasn't in a hurry to potty train again.

I'm glad that we started celebrating birthdays together the last few years. All these ladies mean so much to me and have inspired me to be better.  They are all great examples and I love the memories of each of them.  I have learned to be more patient from Robin.  When her family didn't put things away instead of getting mad Robin would hide the items.  She got her point across in a subtle way instead of being angry.  She once used her hubby's plate again to serve the next meal on because he didn't clear it.  Robin is clever and soft spoken and a wonderful example to me.

I think the first time Robin came into my house I immediately started pointing out to my kids what needed to be put away.  That's how I was but I felt so stupid because I knew Robin wouldn't act like that and from that day I always tried to enter with something nice to say first.

Robin is an Angel on this earth.  She is so kind to everyone and is so sweet and pure!  I'm thankful she is in my life!

Waking up to friends is a great way to start the day.  My kind of breakfast is one with friends!
