Dog Gone It
While we visited, I encouraged Carla to go to Boston with the sista's and support Jodi. I knew Carla really wanted to go and I didn't want her to miss out. She again was over thinking everything; transportation, numbers of those going, if they would be crowded in Shauna's house. I tried convincing her not to worry about those things and promised that things would work out and be fine. Well...her headache and struggle with depression got the worst of her today and things didn't end so well by the end of the day. Dog Gone It! I love my dear friend and realize that depression is real and can over power you some days. It breaks my heart. (if you get it, please get help)
I'm sad that I won't be going to Boston but really felt that the timing wasn't right and I needed to pick family over friends. I would be gone on Easter, which happens to be my favorite Sunday of the year. I love being at church with my hubby and kids. We also have so much going on right now and I know if I went I would be adding a little more stress to my hubby. Jared submitted his mission papers and we have to get him everything. The kid doesn't even own a regular white shirt. (his is cowboy cut) Kimi and Jared will both be going to the Temple soon for themselves and we need to get them everything. I need to schedule graduation and mission pictures. We will need to schedule family pictures. We have always taken the other boys to Kirkland or Nauvoo before their missions and are trying to fit that in too. It's all good and I am being taught that I can't do everything and to accept that. Dog Gone It! ☺

Playing
I went home and enjoyed the grands some more. They are so cute and it's been fun having them come to play.
Not long after the grands were picked up, I was picked up by Barbie to go to the Play. We left a little early so that we could stop by the Heritage Care Center and visit with Kay from SNAP. We had heard that Kay's niece, Heidi had died when we were at SNAP on Thursday. Kay seemed happy and so I asked her how everything was. She didn't say a thing about Heidi and so I asked her Heidi was doing. Kay said that she was doing good and that she had a new boyfriend. Barbie and I just looked at each other. Either we got some false information or Kay hadn't been told yet. I also talked to Kay and told her that she wouldn't be able to come to girls camp this year because of her health. She wasn't very happy with me but oh well...
The play tonight was Cash on Delivery. It was a hilarious play about a guy scamming the S.S. Department. One lie leads to another. The energy was crazy and constant. We did a lot of laughing. We always do a lot of laughing. I heard a new song "Pray for You" by Jaron Lowenstein on the way down. It puts a whole new twist on praying for someone. haha Here's the words.....
I haven't been to church since I don't remember when
Things were goin' great 'til they fell apart again
So I listened to the preacher as he told me what to do
He said you can't go hatin' others who have done wrong to you
Sometimes we get angry, but we must not condemn
Let the good Lord do His job and you just pray for them
I pray your brakes go out runnin' down a hill
I pray a flowerpot falls from a window sill and knocks you in the head like I'd like to
I pray you birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray all you're flyin' high when your engine stalls
I pray all your dreams never come true
Just know wherever you are honey, I pray for you
I'm really glad I found my way to church
'Cause I'm already feelin' better and I thank God for the words
Yeah I'm goin' take the high road
And do what the preacher told me to do
You keep messin' up and I'll keep prayin' for you
I pray you tire blows out at 110
I pray you pass out drunk with your best friend and wake up with his and her tattoos

More of the Same
As soon as Justin brought me Macie we left. I took Macie to play with Kelsi and Sadie so that I could go to the Temple to see Trevor and Tiffany get married. (3rd time for the Temple this week) I think Trevor and Tiffany are such a cute couple. They are just such good kids. Trevor works for Larry and so for their wedding gift we sent them to California for a conference but paid for them to stay longer so they could go to Disneyland. When I picked Macie up, I invited Kelsi and Sadie to go to lunch. Sadie wanted to ride with me and wasn't happy that she had to go in her car. The car seats these days are not the easiest things to move so we took both cars. We went to Chic-fil-A and the girls had a good time. I had a good time talking to Kelsi. Kelsi is still pretty reserved around me and doesn't say much. I think she is a sweet heart and I'm so thankful for her. Kelsi is so easy going which is essential being married to Braxton. She doesn't mind him having so much adventure even if it means getting shaving cream all over your baby or throwing your baby really high in the air. I love that Kelsi just goes with it and trusts Braxton. I'm glad she's part of our family now...she's a cutie. I talked to Macie all the way home trying to keep her awake so that she would nap at home and we did good right up to our corner. She did take a good nap.
I picked Trichelle's kids up from school and then went and picked up Justin's kids. I was really glad Kimleighel was home so I could leave Macie sleeping. I would have had to make two trips otherwise. The grands love playing together at my house and I love having them here. I made everyone dinner before the parents picked them up. (shepherds pie) Larry and I hurried to the church for the reception and got to see Braxton, Kelsi and Sadie. Sadie saw me first and came over to me...she's so cute.
When Trichelle and TJ came to get their kids we were laughing so hard at Behr that I started choking. (the kids a clown) I couldn't breath and when I did get some air I would cough. I coughed so hard it gagged me and I had to run to the bathroom. I was struggling with catching air, coughing and eventually even throwing up. The thought crossed my mind that if I died at least they could put I died laughing on my headstone. haha I love to laugh even if it about kills me. ☺

The Grands
They were good about getting homework done right away. I enjoyed listening to Parker read out loud. I'm amazed how quick kids learn things. I love seeing them learn and progress. I love having them over.
Barbie was over the activity tonight at SNAP and a few of her girls came and did hair and polish on the girls. Barbie bought the girls bags to decorate for camp. They are suppose to put their plates, cups, and forks in them for camp. These girls make big messes. We had to leave the bags in another room to dry. A few leaders were going to pick them up tomorrow. The hair on the girls turned out cute. I think they really enjoyed getting "dolled" up. My mind in on camp. I was direct tonight but another leader was more direct and we had one gal decide not to go. I'm actually relieved because I don't think she would enjoy this camp. This year's camp isn't going to be relaxing. The gals need to be able to get around and so it's important for them to be in pretty good health. I also want positive attitudes. I have decided that since some won't be able to attend because of conditions that I will make everyone a shirt at least...even if they don't come.

Crowned
I met Mallory and Kathy afterwards for lunch. Mal went to the dentist today too. She's worse than me about going. The last time she went was because I actually called and made her an appointment. I love these two ladies. I cherish the discussions we have. I love that we can count on each other for any kind of help or support. I love that we have shared so much together and will continue to for the rest of our lives.

Another Elder
It was awesome to have all my guys up in the ordination circle. Larry, Justin, Kevin, Braxton and Jaydan. Gramps was also up there along with our High councilman- Randy Garside, our Bishop-Bishop Gurney, and our friend Clint McFarland. When TJ receives this Priesthood, all our guys will be able to stand in for him. Julie stayed home with the kids and Ivy and Zaden were with their dads, but everyone else was with us including Bobbi McFarland and her boys. It was wonderful!
These ducks were at church all day just chillin in the parking lots. By the time Jared was ordained there was a hurt one. He was sitting in the snow and blood was around him. Braxton felt bad for it and so he helped him to the other side a little faster. It seemed mean but having it freeze to death seemed meaner.

Celebrating Mya
When we got home Mya got out her microscope and we enjoyed looking through it. I loved her excitement. Her family came down a little later and her daddy brought the elk he just shot to show her. Larry helped Justin give Macie a priesthood blessing since she wasn't feeling very good. I love that we have the Priesthood.
In the bottom corner of one of the pictures is our statue of the last supper that Larry bought while we were in Italy with the Jones. Parker thought it would be a great place to hang his hat. haha I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Mya and I snuggled and talked before going to sleep. It was fun listening to Mya talk and tell me the things on her mind. We woke up to a Winter Wonderland...it was Beautiful.

Grand Week
Having the grands around brings out the good in all of us. Kimi, Jared and grandpa all enjoy them so much. All of our grands are really good kids. They are pretty easy. Behr was a lot easier this time. I didn't put down chairs to keep him in the family room. I did close all the doors to the other rooms but he didn't wander much. He is getting pretty good at entertaining himself and playing with toys. he is really cute. While he played one day I cleaned the toy area in the pantry. I got rid of a garbage sack full of stuff and put the other toys in totes. I had Jared and Kimleighel move the Doll House upstairs for now. It was being used to throw toys on. It sure feels good to have that done. Messes really do drive me crazy...I remember that when I am home and notice them.
Macie came and played on Friday like she does and her and Behr and funny to watch. Behr is a tease and Macie is too. Today Macie wasn't feeling up to par and so I tried keeping Behr under control. They really do love each other and have a fun time together. One of the things that brings me joy is watching my cute grands enjoy each other.

We Are Blessed!
***I'm kind of embarrassed for even being a little upset yesterday. Opposition in all things right? It's okay I felt that way because it helped me remember how blessed I am. By feeling that way I prayed a little harder. I am being made better. I hope that weakness is a little stronger today.

Tuesday Temple
The last few days I have had my daughter in love show send me a video about Satan's biggest lie,(it's about being perfect and doing it all) and a neighbor shared a talk on Being Good Enough with me. I didn't realize I was coming across as worried or any other way but I must have been portraying something. I have been praying extra hard for my family. It's not so much I'm worried for anyone particular. I just hope for wonderful things all the time for them. I turned to the scriptures and let them plop open on my lap. As I read a few things stood out in my mind. First of all that my sins are forgiven. (woohoo) Because I ask in faith I shall be blessed. The Lord's will would be done on His time and that the Atonement is a wonderful gift that we can use daily.
I love that God is very aware of us each and every day. I'm sure He is always giving us little signs that for the most part we probably just over look. I feel good when I notice a sign even if I don't quite understand it. I know God loves each of us. I know that He knows us individually. We are not alone on this journey in life.

Sleepover with Macie
We didn't hurry when we woke up which was about 7:30. We watched a Mickey Mouse Movie and played. We went on Macie's speed. It was enjoyable to me to see her so content and loving being at our house. Kimi and Jared were home since it is Martin Luther King day and so we invited them to come with us to the store and to lunch.
Macie was so excited to see all the toys at Toys R Us. I told her that this store was kind of like Toy Heaven and I think she agreed. We looked at everything. She liked a few things but when I asked her if she wanted it she would say no and move on. We even walked over to Barnes and Noble book store because she had said that she wanted a stuffed toy like Mya had and Barnes and Noble carried them. She decided that she really didn't want the stuffed toy and would rather go back to Toys R Us. I told her that it was time to decide what toy she wanted to get and so we looked some more. Eventually we went down the aisle that had Hello Kitty things and I saw a few cute things and when I pointed them out to Macie and her eyes got bigger than they usually are. She grabbed the handle of the box that held the airplane and three kitties and was set. Her mind was made up. Dang she is cute.
We went to McDonalds after and had lunch because that is the place that Macie chose. We had a good time and Macie was ready for me to take her home after. She was excited to open her gift and put it together. She loved it and flew it up the stairs and back down again. My heart was happy just watching her. I sure do love these cuties that call me gramma!

Mya is Nine
Wow....I can't believe how fast the years go by. It's so strange to me that this cutie pie is already nine. What a joy Mya is and has always been. I think she is such a cute girl. Mya is so kind and very spiritual. She believes in Jesus and really tries hard to follow him. Mya loves to read...I love that! Mya is creative and loves anything that is crafty. She is conservative and is very aware of how much things cost and doesn't like taking advantage of others. (I notice that every year I take her shopping) She is happy with whatever she gets. Her favorite color is purple but she likes a lot of colors. Mya likes to have fun. Mya loves watching movies. Mya is maturing and is losing her baby look. I even had a friend of mine that is in her ward notice that. Mya is just an awesome little one and I'm so glad that I am her granmma.
A few things Natalie shared about Mya...Mya is a super big help and Natalie wouldn't survive without her. She is a good girl and a great example. Some of her favorite things are: reading, purple, lasagna, playing games especially Monopoly but also loves Mancala. Mya loves learning how to cook.

My last scheduled activity at SNAP (except camp)
Tammy came and spoke to the gals about being happy. She shared a little of when she lost her hubby and some steps that she took to be happy. Happiness really is a choice and it is up to each of us individually to make it. Tammy told the gals that it was okay to cry and be sad but to set a timer and when the timer goes off to get up and go do something else, preferably for someone else. She shared a few things that make her happy. Each of us was challenged to go home and write a list of things that make us happy. I know that when we think about the things that make us happy, we realize more and more of the things that do. Tammy did a great job and I was so Happy she came and shared a little of herself with all of us.

Breakthrough....Book Club
I went to my wards Book Club. I have been curious about other book clubs, plus I just wanted to associate with a few of the gals in my ward. We talked a lot but not a lot about the book that we all read. The book was Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson. I enjoyed the things that were shared about the book but if I hadn't read the book I wouldn't even know if I would be interested in it. Except for the fact that it was an enjoyable read. I liked the book. I liked imagining how I would have acted being able to stay in an estate with my friends. I thought there was a lot about the book that we could have shared but really it doesn't matter, it was still fun mingling with some neighbors.

Disneyland
One thing I enjoyed was looking at all the yummy treats. I think they are so cute. I specifically like that you can watch through a glass window as the workers dip and decorate the caramel apples and marshmallow sticks. I stopped a watched a few times. I noticed that they use plastic bowls for the white chocolate and they really knock the apples to get the extra off. They use Peters Caramel too. It was quite enjoyable for me to watch them as they worked.
Saturday we visited Disneyland. It was still decorated for Christmas for a few days and they even played Christmas music throughout the park. I loved it all! It was so festive and wonderful. The inner child in me became active right off the bat. Larry's inner child didn't stay put for long before it was out and running. One thing we promised Trichelle was to see if we could get a remote for Zaden's Mater truck he had made a few years ago. They had lost his and was hoping they could replace it. We stopped on our way in the first day. Yes, they had replacements for $5. We knew we would be stopping back by the Cars shop to pick that up. When we did Larry was acting all giddy and I asked him if he'd like to make a car or truck. He was so cute and admitted that he did. I loved watching him choose the body, tires, rims and accessories. He was just like a little kid again. (so cute) He made a Monster Mater with flashing rims of different colors and a light bar that fit on the cab. He even bought the extra chip so that Mater talked. hahaha ☺My heart couldn't help but smile all over.
On Monday we had early entry to California Adventure. Early entry was at 9:00 because of the slow season and I liked that just fine. Everyone hurried to the Cars ride and we all walked right on. I love Cars Land. It was very festive and cute but is super cute any time of year. We walked around and then headed to the Toy Story ride. It was just opening and so we rode it a few times. I use to always beat Larry but now he beats me. I'm getting slower and less accurate and I don't really care. The weather was nice. We did get rain on Tuesday which was funny because that was suppose to be the good day. I carried an umbrella with us every day and only had to open it for a short time on one of the other days. Compared to the minus degrees at home we were in heat wave. I loved the temperatures the whole time...even when it rained it wasn't cold. There were a few changes from the last time I was there. The Aladdin show is no longer there. They have a new Frozen play now in it's place. They use to have a place from Frozen where you could go inside and play in snow and even build a tiny snowman and that is gone now too. When we went to Eat at Ariel's Grotto on Tuesday they had changed that also. We were most disappointed in that change. They use to bring out a tiered dish with appetizers and salad on it. It was pretty fancy looking but I guess too much food was being wasted and so now each person can choose a soup or salad to go with their entree. I doubt we will go there again. I would still suggest it though for people with little girls who want to meet the Princesses. They get to meet Ariel right off the bat and then four more Princesses come out and visit every table. The food was good but we preferred the old way they did it.
We both slept good every night because we were exhausted. I hate to admit it but we tire quicker than we use to. We didn't stay until the parks closed either. haha We knew we could go back and rest and come back but when we were done, we were done!
When we were in a gift shop in Cars Land, Larry kept holding up and looking at Mack. I noticed that he did that three different times. I think he might have been looking for the price but when I asked him if he wanted he just smiled. ☺We decided to get it along with a stuffed Mater and some plastic cars that babies can chew on. Because we were at the Paradise we could purchase those things and they would deliver them to us. Sweet! Of course we also had to buy another carry on bag to bring all the toys home in. Larry makes me giggle. Larry is kind though and lets the grands play with his toys when they come over.
This really was a fun trip for us both. Larry got over his sickness and we both had a really good time. We enjoyed the warm weather and each other. We loved walking around observing all the different people. It was fun letting our inner children out....you can get away with almost anything in Disneyland. It was fun seeing others do the same. We are blessed and we really do appreciate all that we are able to enjoy in life. Life is pretty darn fun if you take time to make it happen.
Our last day we had early entry to Disneyland. We thought going to Indiana Jones would be a good choice. It wasn't....that part of the park didn't open until 10:00. So we went into Fantasy Land and of course there was a long line for Peter Pan....there always is. Larry asked me why it was always so long and truly I just think it's a novelty. We headed to Alice in Wonderland and just as we approached the cars the ride stopped. Everyone on the ride had to be assisted off. We didn't see it open the rest of the day. We had time to spare and I felt like we were walking in circles trying to decide the best thing to do. I was kind of bugged on my inside and so finally I just told Larry we were going to wait for Peter Pan. That's right...we were going to walk back and forth for forty minutes to ride in a boat that sailed over the city. Larry was sure it was going to break down when we got to the front of the line because it's happened to us before. This time however, the ride continued to work and we got to sail around for a minute or two. Now he can say he has rode Peter Pan. I'm sure he will never let me convince him to stand in that line again though. ☺ By the time we finished that ride we were able to go to Adventure Land and walk on the Indiana Jones ride. We rode a few more rides that we like before heading back to California Adventure for lunch at Ariel's.
When we had done everything that we wanted to at both parks we headed back to the Hotel to catch a shuttle to the airport. We still had plenty of time and so we decided to just chill in the lobby. Well at least I chilled in the lobby. Larry wanted to go in the gift shop again. The guy makes me laugh. He was in there for quite some time. I even wondered if he had exited through the other door without me seeing him. When he did come out he had a huge bag. I couldn't help but laugh out loud at him. His face was so cute. He had decided to buy a bunch of stuffed toys. Larry loves stuffed toys and had already bought one a few days earlier. I guess he wanted more. (I told him we already had a Mickey and Minnie...now we have 2) I wasn't sure how we were going to get them all home because our bags were packed. We unzipped them anyway and shoved them in. Surprisingly we fit everything. I seriously enjoyed watching Larry enjoy himself. He was able to buy so much because we had a Disney card with lots of money on it. We have a credit card that earns points and we have been using it for a few years and so we had quite a bit on it. I think I can say with confidence that Larry had a good time! Me too! ♥

Sista Sleepover!
We had snacks and watched three different movies. We had talked about getting in the hot tub but not everyone remembered their swim suits. I love getting in the hot tub in the winter but didn't mind not going in. We snuggled in blankets and watched Sully, Lights Out and Premonition. Sully was really good and I want to rent it for Larry to watch. Lights Out was creepy and would have been more so if we would have turned our lights out. Patti and I didn't want the lights out and we won. Premonition was just weird. It was hard to follow and we all should probably watch it a few more times to catch everything.
Then we talked. We talked about angels and ghosts but focused more on angels since they aren't scary. We shared stories with each other. They were nice stories of others watching out for us. Carla has an inquisitive mind and asks lots of questions on things that don't make since to her. We got into some pretty deep discussions and everyone had open minds. I bore my testimony more than once and would not have backed down if I had been challenged. I shared my experience of being forgiven years ago and how part of the deal was for me to bare witness of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I did that tonight. I pray that Carla will recognize her prayers being answered. We talked about things she should be aware of and pay attention to while seeking her answer. She wants a sign and I'm positive she isn't noticing them. I know God is hearing her prayers and answering them but that she isn't recognizing it.
One thing that bothered me after thinking about it later was when Carla expressed her thoughts about "Why do other LDS families pray for their kids and their prayers aren't answered like ours were when Jared got lost?" I told her that I don't know why some people's prayers are answered a certain way and others aren't. I just know that it's all how it's suppose to be. The thing that bothered me was that I didn't stop and say that being LDS had nothing to do with Heavenly Father hearing or answering our prayers. I will probably bring that up to her later. God isn't prejudice. He loves all of His children no matter where they are in life. And, I believe we are all where we are meant to be at this time...I don't believe however that we are all meant to stay where we are right now. We are on a path and everyone's path is specifically for them and their growth. Also...as we go along our path we are able to help others right where we are. Everyone is important and meant to be where they are for the time being. Our progress on our paths is very individual as well. Sometimes we might speed right along but I am pretty confident in saying that we will reach bumps along the way that will slow us down. Maybe so that we will take time to help others on their paths or even to slow down so others can help us.
Another point of interest was how could all these Church's on earth claim they are true and the others aren't. I shared how our Apostles have said it. All church's are good and teach true principles. However, they are not complete. I told her how ours was exactly set up the way it was back when Jesus was first on the earth. I shared that our leaders are called of God...not men. I testified of that because I know for certain that is true. I told her that our church can add to what others have and that those church's are good if they are bringing people to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. That's how our night ended. I felt good about our discussion. At times I wish I was more intellectual and could point out doctrine and specifics but that's not how I am. I have strong faith and "feel" and recognize the spirit. That's how my testimony is strengthened and that's the only way I know to share with others.
***Brynlie was admitted to the hospital Monday night when they took both of the twins in to get suctioned. Brynlie's oxygen levels were low and so she will be staying in the hospital for a few nights now. I feel sad for the babies and their parents. I know it's exhausting to them. I love how Kevin and Julie take turns staying at the hospital and supporting each other. They are working their way over a little bump on their path. Jordyn is coughing bad too but because she is older she might be able to avoid the hospital. (we hope)
