I'm Sealed to My Parents

This morning I received a text from Carla who isn't a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but who loves and honors me and is excited for me regardless of her beliefs.  It was simple but meant so much.  "Have an enjoyable time with your mom and "dad" today!  Love you sweet friend."☺ That simple act of kindness made me smile!

Today I experienced something I never thought I would!  I was sealed to my parents for Time and All Eternity! I was very emotional to say the least!  I was trying to hold my emotions in and by so doing I was really worried I might snort when catching my breath...I've done that before.  I'm not sure if I did or not but I do know that I felt The Spirit and Many More at the Temple today!

When we were sitting with a sister in a room just making sure we had everything ready (which we didn't) I was overcome by a spirit...it was my daddy.  I looked over at Larry and his eyes were red and he was feeling him too.  My sweet momma was just concentrating so hard on what the sister was saying that she didn't recognize it....that's ok though....he was there.  I understand why the Temple asks you to come so early....it's so that when you don't have all the things you should they have time to help you with them.  My mom did go to the Temple and ask the people in the recorders office what she needed to do the work for my daddy and they gave her a few papers that only said she would need a  few recommends that she needed to get from her Bishop and the times and doors we needed enter.  I was sure that she needed a "card" with my dads name on it but from what they told her I'm sure she thought it was all taken care of.  I even asked last Tuesday when I went if I needed to do anything more so that I could be sealed to my parents after they were sealed.  The brother told me that everything would be ready....it wasn't but they did get it ready in time.  So thank goodness for the extra time and patient people helping us.

Oh...and Satan will do anything to try to stop Our Father's will from happening.  When my mom got to the Temple the recommend that she showed them was expired!  What?  Thank goodness she needed a new one for this living ordinance...she was good....but oh wow...almost not.

Larry was proxy for my daddy and we all had escorts to make sure we "didn't get lost".  I felt pretty special.  Larry told me that his most spiritual part was in the new name booth...the spirit was super strong there.  It was super strong everywhere.  When we entered the Chapel and took our seats on the second or third bench the brother in charge approached us and said that it was requested that Larry and I be the witnesses.  (I have no idea how that happened)  So we gladly said that we would be.  When we went to the endowment room I found it quite interesting that the young man that followed Larry into the room left a chair between him and Larry.  I wonder if he saw my dad there ... it was for my daddy which made me smile.  Some time shortly after the endowment started I was overwhelmed by the Spirit!  I knew my grandma Bessie (my mom's mom) was there and that my dad's parents and sister were there as well.  There were so many angels there and I wasn't sure who they all were...then I had the "thought" that many were spirits that haven't come to this earth yet.  That makes so much sense...the "LINK" happening today mattered to them as well.  Sealings are so important!

It was a wonderful, spiritual session.  The spirit spoke to me and I learned so much. We had time to contemplate before the sealing happened.  After spending some time in the Celestial Room we decided to go wait in a Sealing Room.  We could talk more there without disturbing others.  I shared with my mom some of the things I experienced.  She was happy to hear that so many angels were with us and that her momma was.  I thanked my mom for choosing to do this work for my daddy.  My mom and daddy had discussed it before he passed and they both chose to have this done.  I thanked her for changing her mind from a few years back.  She didn't remember but she told me that she was just fine with being an administering angel for the eternities.  I would have had her and my dad sealed if she hadn't chose to do so but it's nicer knowing that she wanted this.  I complimented her on enduring some tough times and staying together...we all have to do that.  I couldn't thank her enough and told her that her and my dads decision affected many, many souls.  I felt so blessed.

The sealing room had about 18 people there to show their love and support to my mom.  I appreciated seeing Justin, Natalie and Jaydan there.  The other kids were either out of town or just couldn't make it.  I was okay with that because I know that each of them are happy for this.  Again the Spirit was so strong.  I lost control when it was my turn to go to the Alter.  I can't even describe all the feelings going through me that I was trying so hard to contain...and not doing very good at.  It was wonderful and draining.  I felt peace when it was over....wonderful, serene, peace.  Oh Happy Happy Day!
When we got home our mail was scattered on our bed.  A cute little envelope caught my eye and I wondered what is was.  I noticed my name and tried remembering if I had ordered something then I thought: "it's from Julie".  I didn't see the return label until after I had opened the envelope and read the card.  It was from my sweet, thoughtful friend Julie.  Tears immediately spilled from my eyes at the thoughtfulness and timing of this gift.  Then I just smiled and laughed as I read each heart and her card.  She gave me a "heart attack" through the mail.  What a blessing each of my wonderful friends are to me...what a blessing Julie is to me!  Today was seriously one of the best days ever!

It's Been a Year

So many Emotions running through my soul today!  Happy, Sad, Excited, Anxious, Heart Broken, Blessed..... Last year my daddy passed through the veil and left those of us here with lots of wonderful memories.  Oh how I miss this daddy of mine.  I text this to my siblings today: MY HERO...."You held my hand when I was small, you caught me when I fell, you're the hero of my childhood and my later years as well. And every time I think of you, my heart still fills with pride though I'll always miss you daddy dear, I know you're by my side.  In laughter and in sorrow, in sunshine and through rain, I know you're watching over me until we meet again."  My daddy was a good daddy!  He was a wonderful provider, an honest man, hard worker, mellow, loving, kind, quiet, caring and just plain wonderful.  He truly is My Hero!!!
My thoughts have wondered back to last year when we were able to help keep my daddy comfortable while he was preparing to pass.  Part of me hated those days.  I so wished that the doctors could do more and help him get strong again...it made me so sad that the decision was made to go home so he could pass.  I am pretty darn sure it made my dad sad too....he was coherent and didn't feel like he had a say at that point....that broke my heart.  Part of me loved those days.  My brothers and sister were all at my parents and we all worked together to help my mom and dad.  I loved watching my brothers interact with their nieces and nephews and chase them around the yard.  We had lots of fun memories during that time.  We all loved and supported each other and it felt good.
My kids were so kind and gentle with their grandpa.  They would come and rub his hands and comb his hair because he really enjoyed that.  I would rub his feet everyday until just a few days before he passed when it no longer felt good to him.  I loved that I was able to soothe him those last weeks and that it was my "job" to rub his feet.
I loved all the love that was shown and felt during those times.  I really think it bound our family even closer.  I know that we can all count on each other.  I loved sleeping in my dads bed so that I could be close if I was needed.  I was so worried that I would be the only one not there when he passed because of my responsibilities.  My family was great and supported me so that I could be at my parents during those week.
I love that my kids came to be by their grandpa and make some last memories of him.  It was hard seeing my strong daddy become weak and helpless...but he was always grateful for everyone's help and expressed it while he could.
I love that I was there when my daddy took and exhaled his last breath.  I was standing in front of him and Jaydan and Braxton were there and so was my little brother.  It was peaceful and I remember holding my breath waiting to see if he was going to catch another breath and when he didn't I slowly exhaled my breath and said a silent prayer thanking my Heavenly Father for allowing me to be there. The others were close and joined us and we stood around my daddy  and a prayer was said by Jaydan. I'm so glad we have a Heavenly Father to bless and comfort us...He truly did!
So Now Today on My Daddy's Angelversary we are  doing his Temple Work and Sealing Him to my mom.......and I get to be sealed to them too! Larry get's to his proxy which I think is so cool. I'm so Happy and also a little sad....I so wish my brothers and sister could be there too.  I truly never believed this day would happen but my daddy told my mom to go ahead and do his work when she could after he passed.  I'm glad it's happening on his Angelversary...it adds Sunshine to a Cloudy Day!
Oh Happy Happy Day!
