Awaken

Trichelle invited me to another great seminar.  This one is similar to Limitless but I enjoyed it more.  Gerald use to be involved in Limitless and that's where my girls met him.  Both of my girls really connected to Gerald when they met him at Limitless.  Gerald decided to start this conference because he wanted to focus on different things.  This conference was more spiritual and I felt so love and got to really know so many others that were there.  I had a great time being with my cute daughter and TJ too because they are awesome.  At this seminar we were taught many tools that help us change our way of thinking.  I really dug inside myself a few times and liked what I learned.
The speakers were awesome and were all in alignment with each other in what they taught.  It just went hand in hand with the other speakers.  One speaker got me thinking about how I judge and why I let something she said try to offend me.  I quickly worked through the "why's" and moved on and enjoyed her presentation and seriously felt a love and connection for her.  I thanked her after and she gave me a nice hug.  One thing I thought was "We All Rock Our Journey".  Every one of us is doing our absolute best and we are all on such different journey's.  There really shouldn't be any negative judgement.  I was able to really see the greatness in these people and they saw it in me.  We shared the "greatness I see in you" a lot.

I demonstrated breaking the arrow with my neck by letting go of a believe that was holding me back and owning a new belief.  The last day when we broke boards my experience wasn't as good.  I couldn't break my board and I was seriously bugged by it.  The first time I hit my board I was shocked that it hadn't broke.  I stood there in unbelief and let some negative thoughts flood my mind.  I realized that the reason I couldn't break my board was because I didn't believe the new belief I was saying.  I couldn't lie and I couldn't break my board.  I had so many people encouraging me and trying to help me but I was a mess and could not get rid of the negative in my head.  It was painful...seriously my soul hurt as well as my poor hand.  I learned a lot from that experience and so in reality it was a good experience.  I didn't want to take home my unbroken board though and when I went over to talk to some kids that had came I got some help.  I really felt like I was inspired to go talk to those kids and let them know that I was happy to have met them.  One of the boys had let me lay my head on his tummy during "laughing yoga" but the other kid I hadn't talked to at all.  He was the one that was inspired to tell me a few things.  He asked me if I had heard of Elder Bednar's talk on faith.  Faith to be Healed and Faith Not to be Healed.  Something in that comment struck me and more things went through my head.  I asked this kid if he would help me break my board.  Of course he wanted to help.  TJ got out some gloves and David (the kid) told me that I had to state my new belief and mean it.  I said it a few times trying to really feel and believe it.  David hit the board and nothing happened.  In a way I was glad since I had such a hard time.  Then he said "Dawn, you have to believe it...now say it like you believe it."  I raised my voice stating my belief and he said "No..louder".  I repeated it a few more times, increasing my volume and feeling the belief and convection as I did.  This time the board broke and I felt the same wonderful feeling when I had broke my board in the previous conference I had participated in.  David told me it was my belief that had broke the board and I believe he is right.  But because I had help it made me think about life and how we do need "friends" to help us get through some hard times at times.  I'm still thinking about my board and the many lessons it has and is teaching me.  (I wasn't suppose to break my board)
I loved this conference and feel like it is such a great event and could benefit anyone.  The things I learned go right along with the things I learn each Sunday.  In fact, President Uchtdorf's talk for Conference was exactly what this event taught.  (I'm recording this about a week late)  It was super fun getting to know my team and spend those days with my cute daughter.  I felt so loved by so many.  Even Gerald and his darling wife Krysta (The leaders of this event) looked into my eyes and told me wonderful things.  It was very personal and wonderful.

Run Jared Run

Jared had a 3 day track meet at Ben Lomond High and so Larry and I went to watch him run.  He did a really good job today and was fast.  He was on a relay team and ran 1/4 of the track and was in the lead.  He was the guy off the block.  He ran another race and was pretty quick.  He would have been faster but he had to run the length of the field to get to the starting point.  As soon as he got there they started the race.  I think Jared has enjoyed track.  It's nice seeing him out there with the other kids.  He's not passionate about it though because he never just runs outside of school.  Have I mentioned lately what a good kid this son of mine is?  Well, he is.  He brings joy to this mommy's heart!

Tuesday

Celebrating Birthdays

This morning I headed to Kneaders in Layton to Celebrate Lorraine's Birthday which was yesterday. Tammy thought it would be fun to wear Spring Hats.  I immediately thought of the hat Trichelle had made for a Derby Bridal Shower.  I had Spring on my head.  It was such a fun hat that we all modeled in it.  We might have turned a few heads or caused people to roll their eyes but we had fun!  One guy did mention the Derby which made me laugh out loud and smile!  We visited for quite a while.  We met at 8:00 and didn't leave until 11:00 and that's only because I needed to leave.  I always enjoy our visits.
I met Denise at the Kneaders in Ogden to Celebrate her birthday which is tomorrow.  I thought it was funny that both friends chose Kneaders.  Denise and I also visited for about 3 hours as well.  I think that is a day well spent.  I'm glad that we do make time to meet up for our birthdays.  I sure love my sweet friends.  I'm about as Happy as I can be!

Monday

Mr Candy Man Strikes Again

The treats I told my Candy Man that I liked arrived today.  I think I might be in Heaven!

Friday

Grands and Dinners

I love Friday mornings when Macie comes to play.  It's even more fun with a cousin.  Today Behr got to come play.  It's so much fun watching these little ones interact with each other.  They are learning to share and be patient with each other.  They are so cute and they make this gramma's heart happy.  Ivy and Zaden came too after school but things were busy and I didn't get any pictures of them. I made them pancakes for a snack and grilled cheese a little later for their dinner.  They didn't want roast.  Jared had some roast though and Kimi ordered herself a pizza.  That's how crazy it gets at our house.

I made dinner for the Wards tonight.  I decided to make them a roast since I heard a lot of people were making chicken and bringing salads.  I was thinking of Logan and I hope he was able to eat some.  When I took the dinner to them Julie was trying to get ready to go to a Rodeo to support our cute neighbor who is dating Logan.  Instead of eating home tonight and enjoying some of the roast, Larry and I went out with Neil and Kathy. We've ate out a lot this week. (hahaha) Even when I have cooked. ☺
It's been many years since we have visited with these two.  Neil and Larry were the best of friends growing up.  Neil even came and stayed with us when we were first married and living in Malad in a basement apartment.  He was dating Kathy then and she came over a few times too.  Neil and Kathy rented out apartments on 2nd street and when we moved back from Idaho we rented from them and saw them a lot.  We both ended up building back in Hooper and even though we are close we seldom see them.  I'm glad we made time tonight because it was a lot of fun visiting with them.  Kathy and I had our own conversation and Neil and Larry had their's.  The time went too fast and hopefully we won't wait as long to get together again.

Kimleighel is 21

This feisty, kind, crazy, loving, stubborn, helpful, darling daughter of mine turned 21 today!  Wow, what a journey we have had.  We were blessed to have this cute girl born to us.  We were the only parents that day that got to take our baby home.  It still makes me sad that the other two mom's (who we knew) were delivering still born baby girls that day. Knowing that has helped me be more thankful for our sweetie.  When Kimleighel has been ornery and hard I remember her birth day and it's easier to handle.  We are so glad we have her.  Kimleighel is so affectionate and loves giving others hugs.  She is also very good at complimenting others, especially me. Every day she tells me how gorgeous I am and how much she loves me.  Kimleighel can switch her tune like a dial on the radio, but she usually ends up on the happy and nice channel.  Kimleighel is very helpful to me and her siblings.  She is such a wonderful Aunt and loves all of her nieces and nephews.  She reminds me of me when it comes to loving kids.  Me and Kimleighel look forward to what will come next on her journey.  Life is full of adventure, especially with this cute girl.  Such a Blessing, our Kimleighel!

Thursday

Celebrating Kimleighel

Kimleighel really wanted to go see Beauty and the Beast a week ago when it came out but because of some negative things we read about it she waited.  We thought we'd wait to see what others said about it when they actually had seen it and all the things we heard then were wonderful.  This taught me a good lesson.  We shouldn't be swayed by things that others say until we look into the topic a little bit more.  I remember feeling that way when all the hype came out about our church not allowing the children of gay couples to be baptized until they are 18.  When you look a little deeper you find out the why's.  In this case about the movie some people were just voicing their opinions which ended up being much different from mine.  We went to a theater with fancy recliners and had out treats delivered to our seats.  It was great and we both loved it.  The movie was fantastic.  The music was awesome and the actors were wonderful.  I'd go again today!  Spending the day with Kimleighel on her birthday is always fun for me.  I cherish these times!
We got home and picked Larry and Jared up for dinner.  Kimi was very thoughtful tonight and realized that Jared would be on his mission for his birthday and so she invited him to join us so we could celebrate him as well.  I was so proud of her for thinking and doing that.  I had thought that earlier in the day but hadn't said a word.  Kimleighel chose to go to Red Lobster which happens to be one of Jared's favorite places too.  They both order the Ultimate Feast and ate it all.  Looking across the table at our youngest made my heart happy.  I nudged Larry and and said "didn't we do good?"  We are truly blessed with some awesome kids that have enriched our lives more than anything else.  We have learned so much by being their parents and are better because of each of them.  I thank Heavenly Father every single morning and night for my family.  Oh I love them!

Wednesday

Meet Me

Well we went to Jared's track meet today and we watched him wait for his turn to jump.  We watched for over an hour as the girls jumped.  The wind blew, and the rain came down and the girls were still jumping and the boys were still waiting.  We got cold and a little discouraged and so we left. I was worried about the little's getting too cold.  I think Sadie had a good time anyway because she loves Jared and was able to chase him around and have him hold her and show her off a little.  I had Kelsi drop me off at Larry's shop instead of taking me all the way home. When I walked into the shop, Brooklyn aka My Candy Man was there.  I thanked him for all the yummy chocolate he has given me.  He told me if I ever wanted  more to let him know because his friend is always going to Australia.  (he's there now) I told him I did really like Crunchie's or Violet Crumbles and before I could google them to show him what they were he had made a call and placed an order.  Wowzers!  I like this guy...I like this guy a lot.  I'm going to be enjoying some honeycomb candy soon! Woot Woot! An old neighbor came into the shop too and so we visited for quite awhile.  It was nice seeing Richard after so many years. Larry and I had plans of going back to the meet to see if we could catch any of Jared's events.  We decided to bag it though and went to dinner instead. (it was cold and wet)  I have never tried the Alfredo at LaFerrovia and since it was the special, Larry and I both decided to get it.  It was yummy.  We took some home for our kids too.

Temple Time

The Ogden Temple is closed for cleaning.  So, last week and this week our group attended the Brigham City Temple.  I didn't make it last week because I was so far behind on many things and wanted to use the time to get some things done.  Just Lisea and Cindy went last week and they ended up visiting with the sealers most of the time because they couldn't find any men to help.  There were men ready to help us this week.  I drove and Kathy was able to come too.  The clouds were dark and cool looking until they covered us.  The darkness along with some heavy rain made it really hard to see.  I was glad to get off the freeway.  I bet my passengers were as well.  I enjoyed visiting the Brigham City Temple.  It's so pretty and bright.  We walked around a little after doing a bunch of sealings and enjoyed seeing some of the other rooms.  This temple really is so pretty and I was happy that I went.  The weather was much better when we came out.  I could see the sun and knew that today was going to be a wonderful day.

*I might have forgot my bag a few times in the temple.  The first time I remembered it was outside of the restroom and the second time I had it sitting by me while we waited to get the names back from the sealings.  Lisea pointed at my bag but I thought she was pointing at a flower on the door and so I nonchalantly shook my head yes and took a step towards the door to leave.  Lisea then said...that's your bag.  Yep, that's my bag alright and so I grabbed it and we giggled as we left the temple.  I'm thankful for others that keep an eye out for me.  Sometimes I worry about myself.

Tuesday

Friends Meeting Friends

Today I had planned on meeting Pam and Lisa at City Creek with Kathy and Jodi.  Things didn't go as planned but it still turned out to be a wonderful day.  Kathy and I decided to meet Jodi instead at Farmington Station.  That was the plan and then I another change happened.  I received my sweet text from Julie this morning and another text followed asking me if I had time to visit with a friend since she was in town.  Of course I had time...I would make a visit happen.  I didn't tell Julie I had plans, instead I included her in the plans I had. If she couldn't have I would have still made sure to see her.  I was excited for Julie to meet Jodi and Kathy and for them to meet her.  I love sharing my friends with each other.  I think so much of my friends and talk about their goodness with other friends and so when I get an opportunity to have them meet I take it.  Julie met us at Farmington Station and so we were able to visit and have lunch together along with Kathy and Jodi.
I was so excited to see my sweet friend.  Julie believes in me like no one else.  She lifts my spirit every single day through her texts.  She deeply cares and the feelings are mutual.  I was watching for Julie and was planning on hiding behind a cabinet to scare her. But, when I saw a security car pull up with someone that looked so much like Julie I strained to get a better look and realized it was Julie. ☺  She was lost and had actually parked about as far away from us as possible.  (I might have given her bad instructions...they made sense to me)  Anyway the security gal gave her a ride and even though I was hiding behind the cabinet she had seen me and so we were both tippy toeing to scare each other.  It was a great reunion!  I love this girl! If I would have known that she saw me, I would have run out and taken a picture of her in the security car.

Jodi and Kathy were still looking around.  Kathy was actually trying to decide which pots she wanted to get for Cinco De Mayo.  She's funny and takes a lot of time to decide things.  Kathy seriously makes me laugh but in a good way.  She's  a joy and very talented.  Jodi was late getting out of her Harp Lesson and met us an hour later and she also got to help Kathy try to decide.  (Kathy didn't choose the pot I would have)  I don't feel like I ever have enough time with Jodi to really talk...I wish we had more.  I like our one on one talks.

We went to Blue Lemmon for Lunch and our visits are never long enough.  Especially today with Julie.   I could have stayed longer but also worried about her long drive home.  I decided that we will just have to meet and have a weekend to chat and enjoy each other.
My soul was filled today as well as my bucket. Some days are the best and today was one of them.
When I got home my cute grands were helping gramps pick up rocks in our field.  He paid them all $5 for coming and helping him.  Zaden was so cute and tried giving me the money because he told gramps he didn't want his money because he had found a "crystal" and that was all he wanted.  I thought that was so cute and sweet.  I do have sweet grands that are very helpful and kind.  Seeing them just added to the joy I was filling already.  I love how Behrenger wanted to stand with the big kids for a group picture. He giggled and knew he was being big too.

I love my life!  I am content with what I have.  I have realized the last little while that I am a pretty simple person.  I don't need the best or to keep up with anyone or anything.  I have everything I need and I'm not out searching for more.  I don't even think about more most of the time.  You will find dust in my house and maybe a few stains on my couch.  You will find hair on the bathroom floor because it's always there.  The carpets might need vacuumed and the walls could stand to be cleaned but our home is comfortable.  We have more than enough.  We have a wonderful family and lots of pretty awesome friends that fill our life to overflowing.

Saturday

Moving Day

Braxton and Kelsi moved this weekend into a much nicer place and in the same ward they have been in.  My job was to watch the grands.  I knew that and had it on the calendar but didn't realize Braxton had the day off Friday.  In my mind it was later and so I planned to attend the funeral of Debbie and LaVerna's dad.  When Braxton asked me if he could bring the kids early I was caught off guard because I misunderstood.  I told him I would not go to the funeral but Trichelle had my back and I she watched the kids while I went and I picked them up afterwards. I love that my family really does watch out for each other and I truly appreciated Trichelle.  I just felt like I needed to go to this one and I was glad I did.

I usually make a nice green dinner for Saint Patrick's Day but didn't think much of it until it was time for dinner.  I made green spaghetti with burnt butter and parmesan cheese.  Sadie's wasn't too sure at first but then decided it must be okay since the rest of us were eating it. That was our celebration this year.
Kelsi brought the kids early on Saturday and we (Kimleighel and I) enjoyed them the entire day. Sadie loved playing outside and I got the weeds sprayed while she played.  I seriously do not like weeds yet they show up every spring.  The weather is nice now and it is wonderful to be outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Even though I wasn't super busy I was tired at the end of the day.  Taking care of babies is much harder than it use to be when I did it all the time. ☺  I was glad I could help out though and would have chose the babies over hauling or unpacking and trying to organize...or clean the old and new place.

Thursday

The Light Within

Our Stake Relief Society had a nice program and dinner with all the sisters to celebrate the Relief Society Birthday.  Larry got to serve and so I decided to miss Special Needs and go too.  (I feel like I can now that I am the camp director)  The dinner was yummy and the program was really nice. The program focused on the Light we all have within ourselves.  I enjoyed the ladies at my table and we shared a little laughter together.  Larry snagged the cute grand of  Mitzie Yamashita...he loves babies. He had the cute little guy while everyone ate.  It was a nice night and I'm glad I went.  All the sisters got a cute little note book to write down the moments when the Light of Christ has impacted our lives.  Then, when times get rough we can look back on the things written and be lifted up again, knowing that He and His light is always with us.

Mostly Done...my room

Other than a few pictures I want to get my room is finished.  I love it!  It's light and cheery and refreshing.

Wednesday

No Pinching

The sista's met for lunch today at the Greenery.  It's always fun when we get together.  Patti brought her darling grand and she was so cute it made our visit even better.  We shared treats with eachother and that's always fun and tasty.  Some how I lost my sack of treats from Patti.  I'm guessing it was under the table.  These gal are talented and great.  Chris commented that she looked like the Green Giant which seriously made me laugh because she is quite a bit taller than me.  I love her.  She shared a little of her struggles and how she pushed through them.  That's what we do...we push through and keep going even when things get tough.  We are tough!  Jolene came in hopes of seeing Carla who is having fun with her grands.  It was nice learning a little more about Jolene.  She is very gifted and good at following the spirit.  I admire everyone and enjoyed this group of sista's today.
Before meeting my friends for lunch I stopped by Larry's shop because Brooklyn (probably spelled different but I'm not sure how) brought me more chocolate.  I'm not sure why I"m so lucky and that I get this yummy chocolate from Australia but I'll take it.  I opened them at lunch and shared with everyone even though Brooklyn told Larry that I shouldn't share.  I think it's because I shared the first bar he gave me with some ladies at bowling and hardly ate much myself.  I like to share though and this candy is different and needs to be tried.
When I was leaving the shop, Cindee said everyone was going to bring chocolate to my funeral. I told her that I wanted lots of chocolate at my funeral to be given to those that come. One last gift from me. ☺  We talked about how a celebration of life would be in order.  She shared that her dad wants everyone to wear Hawaiian shirts and to have Beach Boys music playing.  I agree....no crying (or happy tears are okay)....but celebrating and laughter would be nice.
Jared had his first track meet today at Weber High and so I went up to watch him.  He did good and it was fun watching him be involved and a part of this group of kids.  Track and field is a lot of work and watching those kids run and push themselves was awesome.  I was getting burnt and I think Jared was about done competing when I decided to stop over at Tonya's.  I had visited with her for quite awhile on the phone but being that close and not stopping just seemed wrong.  I love visiting with her some more before heading home.
There are times when Larry gets out the vacuum and helps me with the house.  He vacuumed and it looked better but seriously it wasn't sucking as much up as we knew it should be.  Then the vacuum stopped and I was glad Larry was there.  I cleaned it the other day because I didn't feel like it was performing very good but I missed a few spots.  Like the roller....it was covered in hair. There was so much hair it looked like a wig.  Gross, I know.  Then the only opening I didn't check was clogged.  Larry cleaned it all out but we needed to wait for it to reset itself.  I'm thankful for this guy and all his help.

Monday

Getting Things Done

The boys helped Larry get the furniture back in our room on Sunday and so the last few few days I have been putting it together.  I love the new look.  It's light and cheery and feels refreshing.  Besides putting things together I also made dinner for Braxton and Kelsi.  The time slipped away and Braxton got home before I got the dinner there.  It's how my life has been this year...it's crazy.

We went over to Marc and Randee's and went through their new house.  It's huge and has a lot of cool features.  I really hope they invite us back to watch a movie or have pot luck.  Their home is meant to entertain and I hope we will be included.  Zoey invited us to stay and watch a movie but since it was getting late I asked her if she would please invite us again.

Tuesday I went visit teaching and them my visiting teacher came to me.  We still had things in the front room and so we visited in the family room.  Ruth laughed at our mess and laughed even harder when I told her she should have seen that room the night before.  I must say that Ruth makes me feel more loved and wonderful than any other visiting teacher ever.  I adore her and I hope that she continues to come and visit me.

Larry worked on cleaning the room up and I blogged.  It's all looking better, except the quiet room.  The quiet room is filled with things that belong in the closet that haven't been put back yet but it's getting there....slowly but surely.

Sunday

Brent Celebrated 60

Birthdays are worth Celebrating!  Some are even more worth celebrating when you could have been doing a funeral instead.  Brent turned 60 on the 10th and so Tami and their kids decided to invite their extended family and some friends to help them celebrate.  I thought it was a great idea.  One of Brent's friends said it reminded him of a funeral.  I told him it could have been and so weren't we happy that Brent was still here to celebrate his birthday with us.  I quite enjoyed looking at all the pictures and watching the video of Brent's life.  It all made me smile.  It was fun and nice being around family celebrating a life that was fought for.  I hope Brent is able to celebrate more birthdays and that he keeps being blessed with miracles in the health department.  The thing that has been good over this last year of sickness is that Larry and Brent have gotten closer.  Brent has called Larry for blessings many times and Larry has been honored to give them.  It's been a rough year but I think there has been a lot of good things happen too.  Cheers to Birthdays and Celebrations!

Saturday

Games and Plays

Ivy's games, Behr, Play, Larry Vegas

Ivy had a few early games again.  I love watching her play and I'm happy to say that her team won both their games.  Ivy hurt her ankle at the end of the first game but worked it out because she really wanted to play the second game.  Good thing she did because she scored the first basket of the second game.  She was excited and so was I.  It was fun watching her cute brothers watch and cheer for her.  They all love this Ivy girl...Me Too!  TJ came and got Behr to put him down for a nap and so after the game I went to their house until he woke up.  Kimi took Ivy and Zaden to a show.  TJ and Trichelle went to a meeting.  Larry stopped at Dirk and Julie's today and I will admit I was a little envious.  I miss my cute friend!  Larry and Kevin also went to the Temple since the games are in the evening.  Yesterday they went shopping.  Larry even bought an Oregon Duck shirt to show support to Kevin and his team.  He's cool like that!
Ivy played with my phone and I found these pictures on it.  Isn't she so cute?  I can't believe she's so grown up.  It's crazy!
I got to go "Play" tonight with my cute friends.  I love these ladies and we have a good time together.  The play was fun.  I also thought the play was funny but not nearly as funny as the lady who laughed so loud at everything.  Chatting to and from the play is a favorite time for me.  I love our time.  I laugh when I first looked at this picture and thought "one is not like the others". ☺  Before the play we went to the Spaghetti Factory...a favorite of mine!

Friday

Bonneville Buds

When I knew Larry was going to be out of town I got a dinner together with friends  from school.  I call this group of friends my Bonneville Buds.  Some of us even went to elementary school together.  It is fun catching up and hearing about their lives.  It's funny how we all start out about the same but by the time we graduate our paths are so different.  I was thrilled that Jeanne was able to join us this time.  Jeanne and I were locker partners when we were seniors and she was in my wedding party.  Tonight I was told I am the life of the party.  That is all well and fine unless I am getting laughs by belittling another.  I did that tonight and as soon as my sarcastic remark came out of my mouth I wished I could have sucked it back in.  Immediately I apologized but still felt horrible inside on the drive home. I had made a joke regarding Tami and even though I said I was sorry and she seemed fine I felt like I needed to do more.  I considered sending her a text or even a hand written apology but ended up calling her instead.  Tami told me she didn't really even hear what I said.  Whether that is true or not I wanted her to know that I was at fault and felt horrible.  I then told her how much I really admire her.  Tami is adventurous, talented and not afraid to try anything.  She is always learning and doing new things.  She's awesome through and through.  Seriously all these ladies are.  We are all so different but look at us....we are doing great!  I really enjoyed our time together.  I love reconnecting with childhood friends.  Even if we didn't hang out there is still something wonderful knowing that everyone is well.

Celebrating Kelsi and a little more!

The new carpet for the bedroom was put down yesterday!  Hooray!  Larry and Kevin left last night for Las Vegas to watch College Basketball.  I'm glad that Larry took the time to make this happen.  I like seeing my guys bond.

Today besides watching just Macie, I also got to have Behr.  We had a good time.  These cousins have a good time together.  I love watching them learn to play and share with one another.  Behr usually takes a morning nap but not today.  Heck, Macie was there and he didn't want to miss anything.  I asked him if he was tired but he shook his head "no" and went and laid out on the little bench we have.  I could tell he wasn't tired. haha ☺
We had fun with some silly apps on my phone.  The kids get a kick out of these apps like I do.  Whoever thought this up was clever.  They make me laugh out loud!
Behr and I met Kelsi and her kids at "Chick fil a" so the kids could play.  We went out to celebrate Kelsi.  It was fun and close and I enjoyed our time together.  I hope my girls feel special even if we only go for fast food because they are.  I'm proud of our little mommies.  My heart about bursts when Sadie runs to greet me and wants up and then lays her head on my shoulder to give me a hug.  This time of life is great.  I thought that pretty much during all the times.  I hope my kids enjoy each moment along their journey as much as I have.  I like being a small part of their journey.

I kept Behr going a little longer.  I needed to buy more wood for the girls camp craft we are doing and to pay for the carpet.  Behr fell asleep for about a minute before I stopped to pay for the carpet.  On the drive home  I kept doing things to make him laugh and stay awake because I really wanted him to take a good nap. He did sleep good but when he woke up he was grumpy.  Kimi said he must of woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  He's a cutie though even if he is grumpy.

Thursday

Yipee....Kelsi is 23

It's this cute girls birthday today!  What a blessing Kelsi is to our family especially Braxton.  Kelsi is a cute girl and is good at following the Spirit.  She notices little things which are really messages from God.  I know that because she blogs about them sometimes I read them.  Kelsi is a cute mom and is now going to embark on the adventure of staying home with two cute babies.  I was also twenty-three with two little ones.  It's a lot of work but such a fun time of life.  Kelsi is easy going and is good at going with the flow.  She's pretty patient, at least from my eyes. Kelsi has been raised well and has wonderful, loving parents and so I know that her journey in life will be awesome.  Kelsi is pretty quiet still around me and hasn't really opened up much to me but maybe that is just how she is.  I enjoy getting to know this cute girl better each year.  I'm glad Kelsi was born and that her calling was to be a Ropelato and wife to our cute Braxton.  They together make beautiful babies and have a lot of fun together which makes my life better.  I love seeing my kids happy and moving forward and upward!

Celebrating Kathy

I'm glad that my friends are on the ball this year because it's happening too fast for me to keep up.  I'm not as on top of things as I usually am and truthfully it bugs me.  I'm glad that my friends are thinking though and for this lunch it was Mallory.  She noticed that we didn't have a lunch date set yet to celebrate Kathy's birthday and got this one set up.  I'm grateful.  We met at Goodwood.  I like that place because it's quiet and not super busy.  We had a good visit.  I guess it wasn't long enough for me because I ended up calling Mallory to ask her a few more things.  I sure love these sweet gals. I call them my "gal pals".  We've had each others backs since Junior High.  They seriously are so sweet and wise and pure.  I'm so lucky to have such awesome friends surrounding me.

Our Ward Book Club got together tonight to discuss The Forgotten Garden.  It was a good read and had a few twists to it that weren't exposed until the last pages.  I would suggest this book to others.  I enjoyed visiting with the ladies in our ward.  I pretty much enjoy rubbing shoulders with everyone! ☺  I volunteered to have Book Club at my house next time since I am one of the older ones and I don't have kids to put to bed or take care of.  Maybe I'll clean???

Tuesday

Getting My "Flex" On

Yesterday I went and visited Julie Ward who just had surgery removing some lumps from her breast.  She was in good spirits and we had a nice visit.  While I was there Tammy Truman came to dust for her.  My mind just does not think to help like that.  I have thought a lot about that and I think it's because I feel dumb having people help me with my cleaning.  Twice in my life others have come to clean something after I had a baby and I have a really hard time accepting that.  I admire those that can because people want to help and cleaning needs to be done.  We all visited while Tammy dust and then she asked if she could vacuum.  I refused to let her and I did it.  I'm not sure if I'll ever be better in this area.  I took Julie chocolate and a bracelet that said "never give up".  I can do that!  I've thought a lot about things since that visit and experience.  I wonder sometimes why I am the way I am.

This morning I had decided to make cinnamon rolls for the Wards since everyone that has brought in food has brought healthy stuff.  Julie told me that Logan was really missing some treats and that cinnamon rolls were his favorite.  I made the rolls and were letting them rise while I headed out to the garage to cut out Angel's for camp.  I know it's early but time flies and I really want to be ready and still enjoy helping Jared prepare for his mission.  When I turned the saw on it was LOUD.  I figured it just needed a new blade and so I changed the blade.  It was still loud but I decided to go ahead and just cut with it anyway.  I made it to the head and the saw quit.  My brain starts thinking now that I'm really glad I did not wait until later to cut the wood and how am I going to get these angels cut.  I really don't want to buy another saw since I don't craft like I use to.  I immediately was missing my daddy.  He would have rescued me.  My mind kept thinking as I folded laundry and got the rolls in the oven.

I was expecting my cute niece to bring me some essential oils and when I opened the door to roses I was so surprised.  Larry says "I Love You" through roses and paint on the carpet.  The oils came a bit later.

About half way through the cooking time I got a call from Braxton.  Kelsi was having bad pains and was at the doctor and their were wondering if I could go sit with the babies.  Of course I could...I'm flexible like that.  As soon as the rolls were done I threw a towel over them and left. (I should have used foil)  I enjoyed the little's until Braxton brought Kelsi home.  She had a really bad urinery tract  infection but would be okay. Later in the evening I made frosting for the rolls and put them on plates to take to the Wards and another friend.  Larry and I shared one before leaving and I was not impressed with these cinnamon rolls at all.  I thought they were yucky.  They looked good but were a little dry from sitting under a towel most of the day.  The frosting wasn't great either.  Who ruins frosting?  Well apparently when I am making something for someone else it's a strong possibility that it might not turn out to be my best.  Instead of taking the Ward's two each as planned we took them each one.  They might finish one but I'm sure they wouldn't want another.  I apologized when we dropped them off and later in the evening Larry and I each got a text expressing that the cinnamon rolls were yummy and I shouldn't be so hard on myself.  The one family said they would like to try my good ones because they thought these were good.  Even if those texts weren't the absolute truth they did make me feel better about sharing.  I noticed the ones left at home got nibbled on but I did throw one away.  Some times I really believe "It's the Thought that Counts".

busy busy

The fun never ends even if you are camping out in your front room.  On Tuesday I text Kelsi to see if her and her mom would like me to bring lunch.  They said I could and so I stopped at In and Out Burger and went and enjoyed lunch with them.  It was fun visiting with MaryLou and hearing about her new Temple calling.  I really like my kids other families and enjoy visiting with them when I get the chance.  They are all awesome.  I held Jack for a bit and then Larry and I went with my mom to her financial adviser. She wasn't understanding everything and wanted us to be there with her so Clinton (her guy) could explain her account with us.  My sister met us there.  Everything was good...Clinton is taking good care of my mom. We visited with her and I cleaned her bathroom before leaving.  We stopped and bought some mattress boxes to go under our new mattress.  Getting a King has required new things. (I love it)

Wednesday I got up and went to the Temple.  I sure love starting my Wednesday mornings off that way.  I got to help with the Blood Drive today.  Larry couldn't get away and so I went and opened the building and then checked people in the rest of the day.  When Larry came he brought me a different chocolate that his friend, Brooklyn, had brought to him.  The chocolate is made by Cadbury and is found in Australia. It has jelly beans and pop rocks powder in it.  The funny thing is you don't notice the pop rocks until you have chewed it all up and then your back teeth start buzzing.  It's like a party in your mouth.

Thursday I went bowling and then I went to Book Club at Lorretta's.  We discussed a lot of things and talked about a lot of books.  I love our book club and learn so much.  I had to hurry out for something else but I can't remember since I am catching up and didn't write it down.  I went to SNAP that night and we have started working on the Production.  It's going to be cute.  I love the music.

Friday I enjoyed Macie for a bit and our house was sprayed for bugs.  I think I decided to treat myself to a pedicure after. Somewhere around this time our microwave died.  It sounds like it's working but it's not.  Funny how spoiled we become and depend on silly things like a microwave.  My kids will now run over to gramps to heat up their food.

Saturday started early.  Ivy had a basketball game and since she reminded me I figured I'd better be there.  I love watching the grands do their thing.  I also love visiting with their parents while they do.  After Ivy's game I went to Brittany Knight's baby shower.  I felt honored to be invited and was the only one from Hooper there besides Wendy. (DJ's mom)  I'm excited for Brittany to have a baby with her new hubby.  His family is awesome and I loved being around them and getting to know them a little.  I could tell they love Brittany and each of  her kids so much.  We were invited to Weber State's game by the Arnolds but had to run to Casey Nye's wedding reception first.  We didn't make it to the sealing and so it was a must to show up for the reception.  We got there at the first and were able to visit a bit Casey, his bride,  and his family.  At the game we have VIP tickets and sat right on the floor.  We got free drinks, popcorn and half time treats.  It was fun being treated like the rich.

On Sunday, even though it was Trichelle's "off" week she came over so she could meet little Jack.  I love Sundays and having the grown kids and grands over.  Our house gets loud and messy but it's wonderful.  I cherish our family time.
