Chesterfield Field Trip

Our group took a little field trip to Chesterfield today.  It's past Lava about 25 minutes.  It's a place that some pioneers settled.  It's a pretty little community with lots of green grass and rolling hills.  It's been restored and people are allowed to go and tour the buildings through the summer.
I love all the antiques.  It was really interesting to look around each place and listen to the cool stories that the volunteer had to share with us.
We were able to go into the school house, the general store, a few homes, the church or meeting house and the tithing house.
It was a beautiful day and a really fun field trip.  I'm so thankful that I live now and have all the luxuries and conveniences we do.  I admire the pioneers and all they endured.  I'm sure they felt very blessed too.
I'm glad I don't have to make dinner on a little wood burning stove, or haul water from outside, or wash the laundry by hand.  I'm really glad I don't have to put linseed oil on my floors four times a week to keep the critters out.
It was a really enjoyable field trip.  We enjoyed a yummy lunch in the basement of one of the buildings.  It was really cold inside and outside by the time we were finishing.  I'm thankful for the pioneers and all they did.  They were such faithful people and hard working.  I like how God placed them all over.  They had to have been inspired to even find Chesterfield.  The Oregon Trail went through Chesterfield and maybe that's why they went back to settle there.  Very Interesting Day!

Wednesday

Heather's 40

Heather has a Birthday Shout Hooray!  Heather is one of my favorite people alive.  Heather has accomplished so much.  She is so much stronger and better than she thinks.  She is smart and got another degree.  She is nice and my cute grand loves having her as a teacher.  She is friendly and has some wonderful friends.  I'm glad that our family are included in her circle of friends.  She is a blessing to us and so is her family. Heather is fun and I love spending time with her whenever I get the chance.  Tonight it was fun celebrating her!

We went to Maddox and it was suppose to be a surprise.  I'm not sure if it was or not but it was fun.  Larry and I enjoyed visiting with her mother in law.  We had arrived first and so we sat on the end.  We thought about sitting in the middle but decided against it. ☺ I loved the cute cake Barbie had made for Heather.  It was so bright and cute.  I think it was to remind Heather of their time in Hawaii together.
I'm grateful for Heather, Jerry, their kids and her parents.  They are all such good people.  I'm glad that are paths have crossed.  I love the Anderson's and Sessions and the rest of their family!

Miss Macie

So I didn't start the morning off at the Temple but I did start it off with this cutie.  Jared had an early dentist appointment and Natalie needed help with Macie so she could go to the school and help in her kids classes.  I picked Macie up at 7:30 and she was all cute and ready to go.  She was so excited which makes me so happy.  I wasn't going to stay while Jared got worked on but we did.  I told Natalie not to worry about breakfast and so when Jared was finished we to Macy's (store) and found a big pink doughnut for Macie.  She loved it and was hungry because she ate it all except for one little bite.

We went home and had Kimi come down to play with Macie since I had an appointment to visit teach.  Natalie got done about the time I left.  Natalie had to take Justin for a follow up appointment.  He had surgery yesterday.  The doctor did some bone crafts and put an implant in to secure a tooth to later.  His lip and gums had to be cut and stitched again since the emergency doctor didn't stitch the inside of his lip on Saturday.  Poor Justin.  We do feel blessed though because if the chisel would have hit him any higher it likely would have been a lot worse!  The doctor today was very slow in seeing Justin and so when Natalie text me to see if I would be able to pick up Mya I rearranged my list of things to do.   (I might make it to the store one of these days.)  I was actually glad I was available because that is one way I know I can help my kids out.  I don't go help clean their houses or take meals in because I'm just not good at that. So, when I get the chance to help with the kids I try really hard to do so.

Monday

Lucky Ducks, Mal and Babies

I have missed our Monday Game Day.  I couldn't go the last two weeks and I was happy that I could make it today.  We played Five Crowns and Farkle.  We had two different Lucky Ducks.  Lorrilee won Five Crowns and Laura won at Farkle.  The time goes by so fast and it is so fun visiting with everyone.

I met Mallory for lunch afterwards.  I needed to give her the gift for Amanda. (marrying Lantzen)  We went to Hug Hes so I would be close to the Hospital.  I always enjoy visiting with Mal.  She always says things I need to hear.  Today we shared our feelings about having the grands.  We feel the same way about a lot of things.  She told me a lot about a friend of hers and while she talked I kept wondering what she would say about me if she were talking to another friend.  She wasn't saying anything bad because Mal just isn't the type to do so but it got me wondering.  I love Mallory so much and decided that I need to make time to see her more.  She can get away from work and all I have to do is say when.  I'm going to make it a point to go to Ogden more often even if it is just to see Mal.
I went to visit the twins after.  As I was looking for a parking place I saw Lynette who was just walking towards the Hospital.  It was fun being there sharing our grands with each other.  I admire Julie at how good she is with the twins now.  She's ready to take them home and I really think they will be coming home soon.

When I got home I finally had a little time to work on my blog.  I really hope that all the time and effort it takes me will be worth it to someone one day.  Hopefully I will get some time soon to put my posts in the book I am making.

I really want a day or week to work on Jared's book as well. The way my life is going I won't have it done by August.  I wanted to have it done for the five year anniversary.  Oh well....I can only do so much and that is not a top priority right now. (even though I want it to be)

Allergies

I was happy that I was able to help Julie today. Since she had a C-Section she isn't able to lift Jordyn and Jordy had a Dr. appointment today.  I got to take them and lift and carry Jordyn when needed.  Jordyn gets a bad cough about every other week and so Julie made her an appointment to meet with an allergy specialist.  Heck, they reached their deductible with the twins and so the timing is good.  Jordy was good when the nurse put dots all over her back.  She just sat on Julie's lap and colored on a tongue depressor.  When the nurse had to prick each of the dots after dropping different liquids on them Jordyn realized about half way through that she didn't like it.  She laid down on Julie without any thrashing around or screaming while the rest were pricked.  Then when it was done she quite crying and continued coloring.  She's such a cutie.  She is allergic to Burch, Cottonwood and a weed.  I think the Dr. prescribed something for her and we were done.  Julie made an appointment for Kamryn to be checked out as well!

I didn't mention that the appointment was for 9:00 and we were the only ones there and we didn't see the doctors face until 9:45 which is when Julie was hoping to be able to pump.  Even though we only had to wait 10 minutes to see if there was a reaction we were in the office until about 10:30.  (poor Julie)

Jordy and I went to the cafeteria to get a treat while Julie went up to pump and see the babies.  She came down and told me that she still hadn't pumped.  There were too many people in the room with the twins while she ran up.  Julie likes talking about the twins progress and so it was good they were there so she could.   By the time she came down to find us she was very uncomfortable.  I hurried to get her home.

Sunday

Sundays....My Favorite

Bennett is working in Rock Springs, Wyoming now.  He text me this morning to see if I would be home if he came by.  He wanted to surprise my mom with a little visit.  I was excited to have him come over and having early church worked out great.  Bennett and Carrie didn't stay for very long but I thought it was very thoughtful of them to come at all.  They made my day.  Bennett had Jordyn laughing as he played with her.  She didn't want to get too close but she was enjoying her Great Uncle.  I'm so glad that Bennett is doing well.  He is such a happy, positive guy.  He is constantly complimenting me and building me up.  I sure do love my younger brother.  He is pretty darn wonderful!

The house was full today.  Everyone was able to come for dinner.  These Sundays are my favorite.  The house gets noisy and a little chaotic but it's fun.  I love having everyone together.  Braxton brought me my Mother's Day Poem today since he forgot to on Mother's Day. (because he brought so much for our Fiesta)  I'm impressed.  I cherish the things my kids write to me!

Saturday

Super Busy Saturday

Last Saturday Jen had a baby shower planned for Julie.  Well since Julie had the twins that morning the shower got postponed to this week.  Jen always goes to a lot of work.  She planned this shower around the Kevin's favorite team, the Dolphins.  If you remember when they announced that they were having twins it was with the Dolphin, football theme.  Everything was so cute and I really hope Kevin was able to see it.  He had a track meet and so I'm not sure.  This shower was as much for Kevin and Julie and the twins.  Julie got a lot of diapers, blankets and clothes.  I gave each twin a bank with some $$$ and some burp clothes and diapers.  While this shower was going on so was a bridal shower in Mountain Green for Mallory's soon to be daughter in law. (I missed it) Dirk's dads funeral was the same time this shower got over. (I missed it as well)  I picked Julie up for the shower and had Kimleighel take her home.
Over a month ago I promised Carla that I would take her families pictures since Sarah and her family were in town.  I had Trichelle drop me off at Carla's.  I think we got some really cute pictures and we did it pretty fast.  Jessica needed to leave to go to work.  She lives and works in SLC and her schedule had been changed and she didn't have as much time as we had hoped.  The sun was a little bright and we got some squinty eyes but for the most part I think we got some good pictures.  It was fun taking them.

I wouldn't mind learning more about photography and editing.  I really enjoy it and would love to have more knowledge concerning it.  I guess I will have to take some classes since I have always had an interest.  I wouldn't want to take pictures for money...just for friends and family because I enjoy it.
Carla and I had promised our DUP group that we would attend the Daughter of Utah Pioneers Jubilee.  I didn't really feel like it but since they were counting on us for lunch we went over.  I ended up winning a crocheted afghan. ☺
I didn't have much time at home before I had to leave for Ivy's dance recital.  I met Larry there since he ended up stopping to check on Justin.  What happened to Justin you might be asking.  Well, while he was working today a chisel shot back and smacked him in the mouth. It broke his front tooth off but left the root in his mouth. It also broke some of the bones in his mouth as well as splitting his upper lip.  He text me that him and Macie were going to have matching scares.  He will need surgeries on his mouth now.  Once a mom, always a mom.  My heart broke for my son and his family.

I'm not going to lie...I cried when I saw Ivy.  She reminded me of Trichelle when she was around 16-17.  Ivy is only turning 11 next month.  She's beautiful but growing up way too fast! Crazy how time flies!
After the recital we came home so Larry could shower and then we went up to see the twins.  Julie was there with them and so we visited with her until Kevin and Kamryn got there.  Kevin was able to feed Briggs.  These babies are doing so good and when they can eat without getting worn out they can come home.  They are getting so close.  Kam was excited to hold Brynlie.  Tonight was the first night the twins have been side by side since they were born.  I like seeing them together.

We took Kam home with us and her and Jordyn got to sleep over.  Kevin dropped off Jordy on his way to the hospital.  We had a good time with the girls and let them stay with us all day Sunday as well.
