Camping with Braxton and Kelsi

Braxton and Kelsi invited us to go camping with them and it worked out that we were able to.  Kelsi's parents and sister came too....it was really fun. MaryLou's dad built the cabin and it had so many cool touches.  It was cozy like a cabin should be.  A pack rat had a nest in the window and had five babies.  It was fun watching them.  When night hit momma rat was back and forth out of the window and before we even noticed she had moved all her babies.  I was watching her and never noticed her move even one of them.  I guess we made her nervous.
We relaxed the whole time.  I love doing nothing at times....sitting watching the Humming Birds come drink the cherry kool aid that Kaydi made for them was awesome.  Spotting a few deer in the mountains was cool too. And, listening to the leaves while watching the clouds...oh...so peaceful.
We filled up a big tank of water and brought it back to the cabin and then went for more.  When they came back with the second tank the guys noticed that the tank at the cabin was empty....400 gallons of water went somewhere but we didn't know where.  Kelly and MaryLou had to go call a brother to find out where the caps where to close off the water tank and Braxton and Kelsi went a third time for water.  It was kind of funny and we never could tell where all that water actually went.
The boys hiked the mountains and it was fun seeing them from the cabin.  I think they got a pretty good work out....the sweat on their backs was a clue.
I took a selfie of me going to the bathroom in the woods.  I couldn't wait any longer and thought my place of choice was pretty "choice"....notice the two trees that supported me? haha  I did something I have never done or thought I would do.....I used leaves. (too much information I know) I'm glad I wasn't a pioneer and I'm glad I have the luxury of flushing toilets and toilet paper.

Friday

Food 4 Thought Friday

A little feast without the calories!!

Feel free to play along for some yummy fun! Go HERE to play along!

Breakfast ~ What is the last movie you saw? I went and saw San Andreas with Carla and Robin on Tuesday.   What is the first movie you ever remember seeing? The first movie I ever remember seeing is Heidi.  I remember crying in it too.

Lunch ~ What did you have for dinner last night? I went with Larry to the Mandarin in Bountiful with some friends and had a variety of yummy food.  I really liked the honey, walnut shrimp and the lemon chicken. What is the first thing you ate this morning? a rice krispy treat
Dinner ~ When is the last time you cried (and why)? Probably when I was bearing my Testimony.  I always cry a little when I do.  I'm not good at keeping my emotions under control.  A friend once wrote me a note that said my bladder was built too close to my tear ducts...my family claims that are "eyes sweat".  When with others during a sad moment, are you the first or last to cry...or do you not cry? probably one of the first....I just can't help myself.
Midnight Snack ~ What is the last thing you regret doing?  I guess I regret speaking my feelings about my last calling in Primary.  I often regret saying the things that are on my mind but that doesn't seem to stop me from doing it.
What is the first thing you did today that made you happy?  I got to see my cute little grands face and get him ready for kids club.  I love our little sleep overs.....I love waking up to grands!
Recipe of the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life what is it just for the week?) Enjoy Today!

Thursday

the Malone's and the Mandarin

We haven't gone out with the Malone's for quite some time and we figured it was time to go again.  Larry had made arrangements with Matt.  (I like when Larry makes the arrangements)  We picked them up and Larry made Kathy decide where we should go.  She came up with Chinese food and Matt came up with the Mandarin in Bountiful.  Neither Larry or I had been to the Mandarin and so off we went.  I don't mind going a little further when we are with friends.  It gives us more time to visit with everyone.  We loved the Mandarin!  It was worth the drive and the little wait!  I was impressed with the size of the wontons that we ordered for an appetizer....they were the biggest wontons I had ever ordered and very good.  We ordered for meals and we all shared.  Everything was yummy.  We had a veggie lo main, honey-walnut shrimp, lemon chicken, and a beef dish.  I liked trying so many different things.  I will want to go back to the Mandarin for sure.
We enjoyed visiting with the Malone's.  Matt and Kathy are great people and friends.  It's fun catching up.  I'm glad that Larry made this dinner date happen.  It was a nice evening for us all.

Ivy Marie is 10

I had other plans for today but I'm glad I was able to change them.  I was thrilled when Trichelle asked me if I wanted to go with her to celebrate Ivy's birthday since I am Ivy's favorite person. (that's what Trichelle said)  We didn't tell Ivy and it was fun watching her face as she figured it out.  She was happy which made me happy.  Breakfast has always been a birthday tradition for Trichelle and her kids...Gramps and I were invited to join them.  Gramps turned 84 yesterday and so it's fun celebrating both him and Ivy.  We went to Pigs & A Jelly Jar and it was yummy!
We took Gramps home and we headed for the Front Runner.  We decided to ride it instead of worrying about driving and parking.  It was fun and interesting.  You see strange things happening on the train and trax or even while riding them.  Earlier a  friend of mine saw a couple "having at it" on her ride....ruined her for life she said.  I'm glad we didn't see what she did but the couple sitting behind me were enjoying each other at little too much and Ivy was blushing and put her hand by her eyes to block the view.  People can be so thoughtless.

Ivy wanted to go to City Creek and was super excited when she realized that is where we were going.  Her smile was huge.  We had a great time and I enjoyed watching Ivy and thrilled to see that even though she is tall and I might thing she is older than "10" she likes the things that 10 year olds like.  I told her that if she found something that she liked I would get it now instead of when she spends the night for her birthday.  She  found a few stuff animals that she liked and was going to buy one and let me buy her the other one.  I told her she could have both.  She was so happy she went and got another one.  Trichelle was really glad that she gave Ivy $$$ to spend how she wished because she is certain she wouldn't have got her the stuffed toys.  Ivy also found a cute jacket.  I think she looked for the jacket because it was a little cooler than she had planned when she got dressed.

We had Sushi for lunch and saw Mitt Romney after lunch.  Mitt actually bumped into Trichelle when we were leaving the food court.  He walked fast to avoid people.  He is pretty tall and we thought it was cool.

I'm so thankful that I was included in Ivy's Birthday Celebration.  I love spending time with my kids and grands and it makes me feel special when they like to spend time with me as well.

Tuesday

A Little Distraction

Sometimes you just need a friend to distract you from your troubles.  Carla and Robin have been making quilts together and that is a good distraction...they are busy.  However today they were taking a break but Carla called me concerned for Robin.  I won't get into her troubles because they are hers but she needed a distraction.  Robin wasn't answering her phone so we just went to her house and knocked on the door until she opened it.  I was glad that she looked so good and she seemed pretty happy.  We had no idea what we were going to do but to start we decided to get some lunch.  We went to Subway and at first the cool air felt really nice but pretty soon we were shivering and had to get outside into the warm air.  We talked about a few different things but ended up in the Mall at the theater.  We just decided we would go see if there was a show starting soon and we had two to choose from....Insidious or San Andreas....we chose San Andreas.   It was a very intense movie...I think Larry would enjoy it.

I was glad that I was able to help be a distraction today.  It's nice having good friends that care about each other.

Monday

Celebrating Teresa

I wanted to take Teresa to lunch today for her birthday but she already had plans.  She's awesome though and invited me to join her and her mom and Suzie.  I've gone with them before and so I did.  Actually moments before I messaged her I was thinking that I would like to go see "The Cokeville Miracle".  She told me that's the show they were going to and then to lunch.  Perfect!  I got ready and we all met in the Mall.  It was a really good show.  The power of prayer is incredible and Angels are real! I know that's why those kids were saved.  This town had the heads up about the bomb and so many people everywhere, stopped and prayed.  It made me think of when Jared was lost....I will always believe it was all the prayers said for him that he was saved.  I also know that Jared had Angels surrounding him.  God knows us and loves us and hears our prayers!

I love my cute friend, Teresa.  Teresa is so kind and beautiful....I feel blessed that we met and became friends!  I hope the 60's are good for Teresa....she deserves the best! ♥

Sunday

Date Night

Justin and Natalie had a date night and so we got to have the kids.  One of the best parts about having the kids is that they love coming to our house.  We played outside for quite awhile.  Macie loves swinging now.  She wanted to swing with me and then by herself.  I need to lower the big swings because I couldn't get in it right while holding Macie.  I love our playground...it's just so fun!
I invited the kids to spend the night since the movie was a later one.  Actually even if it would have been early I told Natalie the kids could spend the night.  They like spending the night too and only get to at their grandparents...so it's fun for them.  My little's make me smile! ☺
