Wednesday

Temple Time

The Ogden Temple is closed for cleaning.  So, last week and this week our group attended the Brigham City Temple.  I didn't make it last week because I was so far behind on many things and wanted to use the time to get some things done.  Just Lisea and Cindy went last week and they ended up visiting with the sealers most of the time because they couldn't find any men to help.  There were men ready to help us this week.  I drove and Kathy was able to come too.  The clouds were dark and cool looking until they covered us.  The darkness along with some heavy rain made it really hard to see.  I was glad to get off the freeway.  I bet my passengers were as well.  I enjoyed visiting the Brigham City Temple.  It's so pretty and bright.  We walked around a little after doing a bunch of sealings and enjoyed seeing some of the other rooms.  This temple really is so pretty and I was happy that I went.  The weather was much better when we came out.  I could see the sun and knew that today was going to be a wonderful day.

*I might have forgot my bag a few times in the temple.  The first time I remembered it was outside of the restroom and the second time I had it sitting by me while we waited to get the names back from the sealings.  Lisea pointed at my bag but I thought she was pointing at a flower on the door and so I nonchalantly shook my head yes and took a step towards the door to leave.  Lisea then said...that's your bag.  Yep, that's my bag alright and so I grabbed it and we giggled as we left the temple.  I'm thankful for others that keep an eye out for me.  Sometimes I worry about myself.

Tuesday

Friends Meeting Friends

Today I had planned on meeting Pam and Lisa at City Creek with Kathy and Jodi.  Things didn't go as planned but it still turned out to be a wonderful day.  Kathy and I decided to meet Jodi instead at Farmington Station.  That was the plan and then I another change happened.  I received my sweet text from Julie this morning and another text followed asking me if I had time to visit with a friend since she was in town.  Of course I had time...I would make a visit happen.  I didn't tell Julie I had plans, instead I included her in the plans I had. If she couldn't have I would have still made sure to see her.  I was excited for Julie to meet Jodi and Kathy and for them to meet her.  I love sharing my friends with each other.  I think so much of my friends and talk about their goodness with other friends and so when I get an opportunity to have them meet I take it.  Julie met us at Farmington Station and so we were able to visit and have lunch together along with Kathy and Jodi.
I was so excited to see my sweet friend.  Julie believes in me like no one else.  She lifts my spirit every single day through her texts.  She deeply cares and the feelings are mutual.  I was watching for Julie and was planning on hiding behind a cabinet to scare her. But, when I saw a security car pull up with someone that looked so much like Julie I strained to get a better look and realized it was Julie. ☺  She was lost and had actually parked about as far away from us as possible.  (I might have given her bad instructions...they made sense to me)  Anyway the security gal gave her a ride and even though I was hiding behind the cabinet she had seen me and so we were both tippy toeing to scare each other.  It was a great reunion!  I love this girl! If I would have known that she saw me, I would have run out and taken a picture of her in the security car.

Jodi and Kathy were still looking around.  Kathy was actually trying to decide which pots she wanted to get for Cinco De Mayo.  She's funny and takes a lot of time to decide things.  Kathy seriously makes me laugh but in a good way.  She's  a joy and very talented.  Jodi was late getting out of her Harp Lesson and met us an hour later and she also got to help Kathy try to decide.  (Kathy didn't choose the pot I would have)  I don't feel like I ever have enough time with Jodi to really talk...I wish we had more.  I like our one on one talks.

We went to Blue Lemmon for Lunch and our visits are never long enough.  Especially today with Julie.   I could have stayed longer but also worried about her long drive home.  I decided that we will just have to meet and have a weekend to chat and enjoy each other.
My soul was filled today as well as my bucket. Some days are the best and today was one of them.
When I got home my cute grands were helping gramps pick up rocks in our field.  He paid them all $5 for coming and helping him.  Zaden was so cute and tried giving me the money because he told gramps he didn't want his money because he had found a "crystal" and that was all he wanted.  I thought that was so cute and sweet.  I do have sweet grands that are very helpful and kind.  Seeing them just added to the joy I was filling already.  I love how Behrenger wanted to stand with the big kids for a group picture. He giggled and knew he was being big too.

I love my life!  I am content with what I have.  I have realized the last little while that I am a pretty simple person.  I don't need the best or to keep up with anyone or anything.  I have everything I need and I'm not out searching for more.  I don't even think about more most of the time.  You will find dust in my house and maybe a few stains on my couch.  You will find hair on the bathroom floor because it's always there.  The carpets might need vacuumed and the walls could stand to be cleaned but our home is comfortable.  We have more than enough.  We have a wonderful family and lots of pretty awesome friends that fill our life to overflowing.

Saturday

Moving Day

Braxton and Kelsi moved this weekend into a much nicer place and in the same ward they have been in.  My job was to watch the grands.  I knew that and had it on the calendar but didn't realize Braxton had the day off Friday.  In my mind it was later and so I planned to attend the funeral of Debbie and LaVerna's dad.  When Braxton asked me if he could bring the kids early I was caught off guard because I misunderstood.  I told him I would not go to the funeral but Trichelle had my back and I she watched the kids while I went and I picked them up afterwards. I love that my family really does watch out for each other and I truly appreciated Trichelle.  I just felt like I needed to go to this one and I was glad I did.

I usually make a nice green dinner for Saint Patrick's Day but didn't think much of it until it was time for dinner.  I made green spaghetti with burnt butter and parmesan cheese.  Sadie's wasn't too sure at first but then decided it must be okay since the rest of us were eating it. That was our celebration this year.
Kelsi brought the kids early on Saturday and we (Kimleighel and I) enjoyed them the entire day. Sadie loved playing outside and I got the weeds sprayed while she played.  I seriously do not like weeds yet they show up every spring.  The weather is nice now and it is wonderful to be outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Even though I wasn't super busy I was tired at the end of the day.  Taking care of babies is much harder than it use to be when I did it all the time. ☺  I was glad I could help out though and would have chose the babies over hauling or unpacking and trying to organize...or clean the old and new place.

Thursday

The Light Within

Our Stake Relief Society had a nice program and dinner with all the sisters to celebrate the Relief Society Birthday.  Larry got to serve and so I decided to miss Special Needs and go too.  (I feel like I can now that I am the camp director)  The dinner was yummy and the program was really nice. The program focused on the Light we all have within ourselves.  I enjoyed the ladies at my table and we shared a little laughter together.  Larry snagged the cute grand of  Mitzie Yamashita...he loves babies. He had the cute little guy while everyone ate.  It was a nice night and I'm glad I went.  All the sisters got a cute little note book to write down the moments when the Light of Christ has impacted our lives.  Then, when times get rough we can look back on the things written and be lifted up again, knowing that He and His light is always with us.

Mostly Done...my room

Other than a few pictures I want to get my room is finished.  I love it!  It's light and cheery and refreshing.

Wednesday

No Pinching

The sista's met for lunch today at the Greenery.  It's always fun when we get together.  Patti brought her darling grand and she was so cute it made our visit even better.  We shared treats with eachother and that's always fun and tasty.  Some how I lost my sack of treats from Patti.  I'm guessing it was under the table.  These gal are talented and great.  Chris commented that she looked like the Green Giant which seriously made me laugh because she is quite a bit taller than me.  I love her.  She shared a little of her struggles and how she pushed through them.  That's what we do...we push through and keep going even when things get tough.  We are tough!  Jolene came in hopes of seeing Carla who is having fun with her grands.  It was nice learning a little more about Jolene.  She is very gifted and good at following the spirit.  I admire everyone and enjoyed this group of sista's today.
Before meeting my friends for lunch I stopped by Larry's shop because Brooklyn (probably spelled different but I'm not sure how) brought me more chocolate.  I'm not sure why I"m so lucky and that I get this yummy chocolate from Australia but I'll take it.  I opened them at lunch and shared with everyone even though Brooklyn told Larry that I shouldn't share.  I think it's because I shared the first bar he gave me with some ladies at bowling and hardly ate much myself.  I like to share though and this candy is different and needs to be tried.
When I was leaving the shop, Cindee said everyone was going to bring chocolate to my funeral. I told her that I wanted lots of chocolate at my funeral to be given to those that come. One last gift from me. ☺  We talked about how a celebration of life would be in order.  She shared that her dad wants everyone to wear Hawaiian shirts and to have Beach Boys music playing.  I agree....no crying (or happy tears are okay)....but celebrating and laughter would be nice.
Jared had his first track meet today at Weber High and so I went up to watch him.  He did good and it was fun watching him be involved and a part of this group of kids.  Track and field is a lot of work and watching those kids run and push themselves was awesome.  I was getting burnt and I think Jared was about done competing when I decided to stop over at Tonya's.  I had visited with her for quite awhile on the phone but being that close and not stopping just seemed wrong.  I love visiting with her some more before heading home.
There are times when Larry gets out the vacuum and helps me with the house.  He vacuumed and it looked better but seriously it wasn't sucking as much up as we knew it should be.  Then the vacuum stopped and I was glad Larry was there.  I cleaned it the other day because I didn't feel like it was performing very good but I missed a few spots.  Like the roller....it was covered in hair. There was so much hair it looked like a wig.  Gross, I know.  Then the only opening I didn't check was clogged.  Larry cleaned it all out but we needed to wait for it to reset itself.  I'm thankful for this guy and all his help.

Monday

Getting Things Done

The boys helped Larry get the furniture back in our room on Sunday and so the last few few days I have been putting it together.  I love the new look.  It's light and cheery and feels refreshing.  Besides putting things together I also made dinner for Braxton and Kelsi.  The time slipped away and Braxton got home before I got the dinner there.  It's how my life has been this year...it's crazy.

We went over to Marc and Randee's and went through their new house.  It's huge and has a lot of cool features.  I really hope they invite us back to watch a movie or have pot luck.  Their home is meant to entertain and I hope we will be included.  Zoey invited us to stay and watch a movie but since it was getting late I asked her if she would please invite us again.

Tuesday I went visit teaching and them my visiting teacher came to me.  We still had things in the front room and so we visited in the family room.  Ruth laughed at our mess and laughed even harder when I told her she should have seen that room the night before.  I must say that Ruth makes me feel more loved and wonderful than any other visiting teacher ever.  I adore her and I hope that she continues to come and visit me.

Larry worked on cleaning the room up and I blogged.  It's all looking better, except the quiet room.  The quiet room is filled with things that belong in the closet that haven't been put back yet but it's getting there....slowly but surely.
