Fun With Kellie

I took Kellie to lunch for her birthday today!  She chose a new little place out in Plain City.  It's called Roylies  and is owned by a cute young couple for England.  We both had chicken cordon bleu sandwiches.  They were really yummy.  They came with homemade potato chips too.  I will need to go back to that place.  Kellie and I think they need to put some "air" in there though.  We both got hot at different times.

We went shopping to Kohl's afterwards.  I am not a shopper but I know Kellie is and so I enjoyed watching her.  I learned a few pointers.  I don't think Kellie thought I was enjoying myself but really I was.  I was starting to get a back ache though and my face or countenance must have showed it.  Kellie had some gift cards and coupons and was able to get a cute purse, blouse, dress and shoes.  She said she will probably take some of it back.  I don't understand that, I really dislike returning things.  I usually will give something away instead of taking it back.

We had a fun time together.  I love this girl and I'm so thankful that we are in each others lives now.

Temple

I'm addicted to this place.  I didn't make it last week and felt the void.  I'm not going to be able to go with my friends this week since I will be enjoying some of my cute grands so I got up and went this morning.  I did initiatory because I love hearing the blessings and promises.  After my first card was finished there weren't people waiting in the waiting room and so I got another card and went through again.

I like feeling the spirit of Christ and I always do when I am in the Temple.  As I went through today I had the thought that I should make the Temple part of my morning routines.  I think instead of just attending once a week I am going to shoot for two or three.  I think it's where I'm suppose to be at this time of my life.  I don't think I could be doing anything better.

Today while I was going through I had a sister that seemed so serious.  I looked her in her eyes and smiled.  I smiled the whole time and her face didn't change.  The next time I was face to face with her I continued smiling and I saw her eyes light up and her mouth twitched and a smile appeared very briefly but it was there.  The next time she looked much more pleasant and complimented me.  She said I had a wonderful smile. ☺  I think smiling improves everyone's face value!  Before I left another sister told me I had a pleasant face. ☺ She said she didn't know of anyone that could hold a smile the entire time.  It's a trait I would love to be remembered for.  Smiling is My Favorite...I really do love to Smile!

Friday

Happy Birthday Kellie

We celebrated Kellie's Birthday Today!  I forgot her Birthday Crown.  I know why....I was watching Behrenger.  I got distracted by a very cute little guy and left the crown home.  Kellie might have been happy about it.  At the last minute I did decide to print some silly eyes to make things silly.  "I have my EYE on you!"

We went to the Greenery.  They have seating outside now but we chose to stay inside since it was cooler.  I love these cute gals.  I'm glad this lunch didn't get cancelled like it almost was.  There  is always a lot going on but nothing more important than celebrating someone's life!  I'm glad Kellie was born and that we became friends.  I really love this sweet friend of mine.
I was in line to pay and heard someone call my name.  I looked around and saw three of my cousins coming toward me with huge smiles.  They were celebrating Julie's (in front) birthday, which was yesterday.  They made my day.  I feel like a giant around these ladies.  They must have all got shorter as well.  These cute cousins are distant cousins and I always forget how exactly we are related.  I'm just glad we are.  I love them all so much and it's fun connecting with them every now and then.
I got to enjoy Behr more when I got home.  When Trichelle came to get him she decided to stay and visit for a while.  I loved visiting with her and having Zaden tell me about his fun outing with his mom. (they went to some motorcycle and go-cart races)  It was a fun day!

Breakfast ~ What was a happy moment this week? When I finished typing everything for Jared's book.  It was kind of overwhelming at first trying to organize my thoughts and everything that was shared with us. It's taken me months and it's a quick read.   It's done as good as I am going to do it! YIPPEE!

Lunch ~ What was a sad moment this week? I can't really think of anything too sad.  I did feel bad for an older gentleman that we saw going into the store on Tuesday.  He was trying to get on his scooter by himself.  Tonya and I went and helped him and got his ramp secured back to his trailer.  Because we stopped to help another gal stopped to see if she could help too.  So kind of a sad thing that didn't end so sad.  Our son needed a blessing this week and it always breaks my heart to see my kids sick or struggling.  It's even harder when I see tears in their eyes.

Dinner ~ What happened that surprised you this week? I got a very exciting text announcing some really great news.
Also, spur of the moment our family was invited to have dinner and play cards with Carla and Roger.

Midnight Snack ~ What happened that didn't surprise you this week? When I got home I had lots of laundry to do even though the kids were suppose to do it before I got home.  Jared saved his on his floor and brought it down the next day.  The dishes didn't get done for a few days.  I reminded my child it was their responsibility this week and even though I wasn't surprised they weren't getting done I was disappointed.

Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?) Never Give Up On Yourself!  I didn't want to write a book because I didn't think I could.  It's not long and it's not perfect.  It's not professional by any means, but it is finished and our family will have it to remember some of the ripples from our experience.

Thursday

A Needed Getaway

Tonya invited me to her cabin so that I would have uninterrupted time to work on the book I am writing about Jared's adventure.  It was a successful get away.  I was able to finish the book.  Now I just need Shari to correct my punctuation and then I will need to put it in a book.  I will still spend a lot of time getting it all complete but I am close.  The funny part is that it can be read out loud in just about an hour.

While I typed, Tonya sewed.  The scenery was peaceful and beautiful.  I sat at the card table and could look out the window into the trees.  The river could be heard slightly in the background.  It was the perfect environment to keep my thoughts focused.  I'm pretty excited to get this book printed.
Tonya was inspired to invite me to her cabin.  I loved spending time with her for a few days.  We worked hard but had plenty of time to visit.  I typed until my fingers didn't feel like I could straighten them.  I feel like a weight has been lifted from me.  I seriously feel lighter!

I'm so grateful for these last few days.  I'm thankful that Tonya has a beautiful place to get away that isn't too far and that I was able to spend some time there.  We didn't have cell service or internet, so no interruptions.  It was perfect!

Monday

Game Day

Today there were just three of us that showed up for game day.  The numbers don't matter because we always have a great time.  Lorrilee taught us a new game. The Game is called Golf.  She was the Lucky Duck today too.  I was the biggest loser but had a great time.

Carla and I went with Kimleighel to see Finding Dory afterwards. It was a cute show.  Fun Day!

Sunday

Father's Day

We had Stake Conference this morning.  It was a great way to start off this Father's Day.  We went to the Tabernacle since we had a general authority.  It was Fabulous.  I really enjoy our conferences.

We had everyone over for dinner.  I sure do like having everyone over.  The kids all brought something to go with the pasta and caprese.  It was all very yummy!  I like the dads in our family.  All are such good guys and fun.  I miss my dad but felt him close.  Yes, Justin is missing a tooth and likes his picture taken without his retainer that has a temporary tooth on it.  He cracks me up and makes me laugh so hard.  He has good self esteem!  I am so thankful for these guys. They all work so hard and enjoy spending time with their families.
I love all the grands they have brought into this world.  They make our life so much better and tons more fun.  I look forward to getting more.
Larry had a great time with the kids and grands.  It was fun watching him interact with them all.  I sure am glad this guy is mine forever.  He is such a fun loving guy.  Larry works hard and has made time to play hard as well.  I think that is why our family is close.  We have done a lot of things together over the years.  I really appreciate all that he does for each of us.
It's fun seeing generations come to be.  Kevin wanted a four generation picture.  Little Briggs is named after his great gramps.  Briggs Mario after Mario Joe.  I love that!
