Saturday

Sadie Lou

Sadie Lou got to come play with us while her parents had a "stay-cation".  She was excited and so stinkin cute. She didn't care that her parents were leaving because she really likes playing at our house.  She's a fun and happy little girl.  She is starting to say things now and speaks clearly.  She is really good at saying "thank you".  I lift her up, or help her out of a seat, or give her a treat and she responds with "thank you"....it's so cute.  Having her stay with us was a lot of fun.  She was ready for bed at 6:30 pm on Friday.  I know because I asked her and she shook her head yes and got her blanket and headed for the quiet room.  I put her down and didn't hear a peek from her until the next morning when I started to worry about her and I went to check on her. (7:45 am)  She turned her cute little head and just smiled.  Oh my she is a sweetie!

She makes us laugh too.  She has such a fun personality.  She feeds herself like a pro and when she is finished the bib comes off and the plate goes on her head.  She's pretty clean while she eats but when she's done you'd better be ready. ☺

Braxton  and Kelsi went to the Temple, spent time with friends, went shopping and just enjoyed each other.  I'm glad they had some time together.  I'm glad we live close and that the grands like coming over and are so good and enjoyable. This time of life is super fun.  (that's how I have felt most of my life..even though there have been harder times than others)

Friday

Lunch with my cute Grands and Book Club

It was grandparents day at the elementary school today and my cute grands invited me to have lunch with them.  They were so excited and so was I. I got to enjoy cute little Macie this morning before going to lunch.  I love Friday mornings with Macie....she's so cute.  The kids took their lunch and so I did too.  It's faster that way.  We just walked into the gym and found a spot and enjoyed each other.  I loved hearing Parker tell me about the hunt from last night.  Mya told me about her fun night with her mom and Macie too.  After we ate the kids took me to the Book Fair.  Oh my word you could hardly walk around.  Parker kept coming and getting me to show me some cool books.  I preferred the hall where it wasn't so crowded.  Parker did his best to get me to buy him a book.  He smiled his cutest smile and even put his hands together in a pleading way.  I kissed his cute face and reminded him of all the books I have at my house.  I let the kids have one when they all sleep over as a reward (bribe) for going to sleep good.  I promised that when all my books were gone I would buy more.  I love books and if I didn't have so many already that my grands are welcome to take I would have gladly bought more.

My grands were happy with a pencil and a few pencil grips that they got to buy from little machines in the school.  Mya actually had money that she was sharing with Parker.  I told her I did have change and they could spend mine too.  They really didn't care but took it anyway.  The line in the book fair was so long anyway or I'm sure I would have let their cute little smiles sway me.
After lunch I went to Shanna's for book club.  Shanna loves to entertain but today it was killing her back.  I felt bad for her.  Shanna goes all out and today the lunch was made from recipes she got from a book series by Josi Kilpack. She made Salmon potato soup, bread, spinach salad and key lime pie.  It was all delicious.  You might be wondering how I could eat again but the truth is I only took carrots and celery to school to eat with my grands.  I'm not sure they would have even noticed if I wouldn't have taken anything but  I did just in case.

Our time together at book club always goes so fast.  I needed to leave and be home by 3:00 since Sadie was coming to stay the night with us.  I thought that would allow us plenty of time but I think we could have went on for another hour or more.  Suzie left first which was nice so I didn't have to be the first to go.  I enjoy these ladies and the things we share.  I enjoy our friendships.  We discussed some good books and I was able to share a few of mine but for some reason I didn't come home with any.  Hopefully next month something will sound more interesting to me.

Thursday

Fun Night

My boys all got together in our field and shot pheasants.  I believe they bought them from a neighbor.  I'm not sure how it all works but I do know these guys had a great time.  Parker announced that Jared was the best shot.  Jared got the most birds with the least amount of shots.  Larry was out with the boys and him and Parker were the "pointers".  They held their arms out straight when they saw a pheasant.  Larry had told me all about this night and I asked Parker later when I saw him and his story was exactly like Larry's.  It was funny to see them both point.   It makes me happy that my boys were all there together.  These moments don't happen often unless someone needs help.  They were all together when Kevin and Julie were laying sod a week or so ago and that too made this momma very happy.  I love my cute boys.  The babies they were in charge of hung out with Kimleighel while they had their fun.  Kimleighel ended up watching...Zaden, Behr, Sadie, Bynlie and Briggs.  Trichelle was working on her home to get it ready to sell. (the one on Chimes View Drive)  She came back early so Kimleighel wouldn't have so many kids by herself.  Kimi does a great job though and the daddy's were just outside.
I went to Special Needs Mutual and it was a fun night.  We wore PJ's and talked about Prayer, Journals and Scriptures. We got a new Young Men's President and so all our Young Men leaders are new.  I'm sure our new President might have felt a little over dressed in his suit and tie while us women wore our jammies. ☺  Virginia planned a nice evening. She had the girls all make cute journal jars and we talked about a few people from the scriptures and then we watched the First Vision while we had yummy treats that the leaders brought.  We usually have close to 25 girls that come and it's really fun.  It was a wonderful activity.  I love spending time with these Special Women.

I handed out a little note telling them about girls camp that isn't until June.  I want to make sure they can all take off work and makes plans to attend.  I also want them to be sure to bring someone to help them if they need it.  I already started buying a few things this week and my brain just keeps thinking of things to do for our fun week at Heber Valley. I'm excited and want it to be wonderful.

Monday

Brows

When it comes to eyebrows I'm naked.  My eyebrows have always been super thin and hardly visible.  I have had them tattooed twice and they fade and are still light and need makeup.  Well I took care of that today. Debbie W and I took a little road trip to Rigby and had our brows done.  I went a little too dark but I know how they fade and so in a year or so they will probably be perfect. ☺  There is a new procedure being done called microblading and that's what I did. I was suppose to be numb but....but....I wasn't and it kind of hurt.  It felt like I was being tweezed and a bunch of hairs were being pulled out at the same time.  I sneezed a few times and the gal said I was her first to do that.  After the first time across my brows I was numbed again and it was much easier the second and third time over.  The final look is shocking to me.  I can't help but think of Red from Angry birds.  I think the gal did a great job but I chose the wrong color...I really should have went lighter first.  Plus I am use to having thinner and lighter brows.  So I will still be putting make up on my brows (to lighten) but when I don't wear make up I will still have brows....lots of brows. I don't regret doing this but it will take some time to get use to. haha...I'm so vain!
***I went back up with Trichelle on Wednesday.  I loved visiting with her and Debbie both days.  Trichelle and Debbie's brows didn't change much and weren't as shocking as mine...and I'm still not sorry I did it.  Trichelle has nice brows and just wanted to fill them in and so hers were the easiest by far.  I love that we were able to get in on Natalie's deal...it was worth the drive.

Sunday

Fun Time of Year

There's something wonderful about the weather getting cooler, the leaves changing colors and Holidays.  October is the start of all of that.  I love Fall and all the fun traditions that we have during this time.  As the weather cools down soups taste better.  Tonight we had a soup night dinner.  I made three different soups (I use packages) and served them from cute buckets.  We had different flavors of pop with floating eyes that the kids thought was cool, crescents, veggies and donuts.  It was simple but fun and hopefully memorable.

The whole family came and enjoyed each other.  That's my favorite thing ever.  I love sitting around visiting and sharing stories and simply feeling content with us all together.  The cousins play and are making fun memories and building their friendships.  Oh how it makes my heart happy.  I love soaking it all in.

Friday

Celebrating Kevin and Julie's Birthdays

Finally we were able to take Kevin and Julie out for their birthdays.  Sometimes it's hard to coordinate times.  These two are very busy and usually have things planned.  I do like that about them though.  I like that they plan lots of things to do together and with their kids.  I enjoy visiting with my kids one on one like this.  It's fun just to listen to them talk about the things happening in their lives.

We went to Outback Steak House and it was delicious. Julie and I had Prime Rib Dip Sandwiches and the guys had the Prime Rib.  We shared a Bloomin Blossom and as much as I don't enjoy onions I really like these.  I love these two and all that they have accomplished.  They have a nice, big house and even got the yard in.  They travel and go places and always have something on the burner.  They work hard so that they can play.  I admire the zest they have for life.  They are very involved parents and do a lot with their kids.  I think that's important.  It was fun spending a few hours with them.

When we took them home I had to go inside and see the twins.  Jared had just put them down in their beds and so they were awake and fussing a little.  I looked at Briggs and started talking to him and he quit fussing right away and gave me a huge grin.  Brynlie did the same thing for Julie.  Oh my word these babies are such a delight.  They are growing and doing so well.  They are pure cuteness.

Relaxing in Kuaui

Larry and I arrived in Kauai just moments before Alan and Sue.  Our timing this time was superb. We had such a nice vacation we seriously did not want to come home.  When we all arrived and got our car we went to L&L for some dinner and then to the store and condo.  We were all excited to be together to visit and relax.  I wasn't sure Alan was going to be able to just chill but he did a good job at it.  We did things every day but spent plenty of time just chillin.

Our first day (Friday) we went miniature golfing and couldn't help but remember the very first time we went when the golf course was first built. All the plants were small and now it's a regular botanical garden.  Everything has grown so big and beautiful.  We had a great time.  I started out the best but ended up coming in second to Alan who started out the worst.  I lost to him by one shot. We at pizza at the 76 Station for lunch.  Our kids found that place to eat and so we try to go there at least once while we are there.  Alan cooked a yummy fish dinner and I really wish I would have remembered to get a picture of our dinner because it was probably my favorite of the trip.  We also had broccoli  and fruit.  The plate was beautiful and very yummy.
Saturday we went Zip-lining. The weather was cloudy which kept it nice and not hot.  I really enjoy zip-lining now.  Our group was a fun one.  Our guides were Shari and Adam.  We had Shari last time we went too.  (we might have had Adam as well-he dressed like he was cold and the one we had last time did too)  This time we also had lunch with this group and went to a swim hole that had a little waterfall and place you could jump in.  It was refreshing and nice.  We all enjoyed ourselves.  Shari suggested a few places for us to try eating at.  We went to The Fish Market later and all liked our choices even though there was a cockroach that greeted us at the door.  Larry helped it back out of the door and Alan affirmed that Mr. Cockroach was a sign that the place was good.  haha  I ordered a fish wrap and it was so big I saved half of it and had it for breakfast one morning.  It was Conference weekend and so later that night we watched the Priesthood session.
Sunday we watched both sessions and went for a drive between them.  I loved watching a listening to the waves just below our condo.  It was a great environment.  Larry and I cooked a spaghetti dinner.  We had garlic bread and salad and fruit.  I loved having a big bowl of fruit we could craze on anytime we wanted.  We had pineapple, banana's, mango, papaya, and dragon fruit in our fruit salad.
I liked our relaxing Sunday and listening to conference.  I always enjoy Conference Weekend.  I was happy that our kids still went to the Priesthood Session together and out to dinner even though we were gone...it made me so happy.
Monday we decided to go to Poipu.  We walked on the beach, went to spouting horn, did some shopping and had a wonderful late lunch at Keoki.  Sue spotted a seal while we were there.  I never saw it but thought it was cool that Sue did. I bought 5 Crowns at one of the stores since I forgot to bring ours.  We had a few fun games of it a couple of nights.  It helped us stay awake.  The time change is hard getting use to.
Tuesday we rented some Kayaks and went and played in Hanalei Bay.  The river was high and peaceful.  The ocean was fun to just be in.  Kayaking is one of Larry's favorite things to do and so we usually go while we are in Hawaii.  I really like it too.  A few days we visited our swimming pool and hot tub.  We tried going to Bali Hai's pools one day and were informed that  we can not longer enjoy the pools at the different resorts.  (we use to be able to)  For dinner we went to the other place that Shari had recommended.  It was J O2.  It was a nice place and an expensive one.  I wouldn't want to go there again.  I ate too much and didn't feel real great afterwards.  I know I ate more than I should have because of the cost and paid for it later.
Wednesday was our last day.  We decided to go Kayaking again since we could go free for a few hours.  I have never seen anything prettier.  We were on the water around 8 and the reflection was like a postcard.  The water was like a mirror and it was perfectly beautiful.  We went up the river this time and after returning the kayaks we went down to the ocean to play in it again.  The water we played in didn't seem as salty or sticky because the river flowed into it.  We really had a good time.  We went back and I washed our clothes.  I like bringing everything home clean.  We watched another talk from a Saturday session while we waited.  We got packed and left in time so that we could stop and eat at Duke's.  We really like that place and usually stop there before we leave.  I am really glad that Alan and Sue text us to go to dinner with them in Hawaii.  ☺  The Winters are such great friends and we love traveling with them.  They still had another night and so they dropped us off and we said our good byes.
Larry had really wanted to stay longer and was so close to arranging things so we could but after praying and reading the scriptures, his answer was plain and clear.  I never thought we would stay longer.  Larry had mentioned staying a few extra days before he even booked our flight and had decided against it and so I was pretty sure we wouldn't now.  As much as I would have liked to stay longer I was not disappointed at all. I knew we needed to come home.  The thought of coming back to everything caused me stress but for the days we were gone I really was able to disconnect myself from any worries.  I'm thankful we were able to get away and relax.  I think everyone should make time to do that once in awhile.  I'm grateful for Larry and our kids and for having such wonderful friends.
Larry used a little extra sky miles and flew us home first class.  It was the nicest seats I have ever had and I've been blessed to have flown first class to Israel and to Italy but these seats went into a bed and were the nicest ever. It was so worth spending those extra sky miles on them.  I only wish we could have flown all the way to SLC on this flight.  Fun way to end our vacation.
