Conference

I love Conference Weekend!  I am thrilled that Kimleighel was excited to listen to all the sessions with me.  She was so anxious to hear the words of our leaders.  So fun seeing our kids grow up and turning out good in spite of our errors.  I loved all the talks and felt like there were a few that mentioned being truly converted....having our faith challenged so that we know for sure why we are doing what we do and why.  I know that wasn't any of the topics but heard it a few times.  I think that we all need to be truly converted at some point or challenged so we absolutely know we have made the right choice in being members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Mine happened a few years ago and I'm glad it did. I also noticed a lot was said about the Temple...it's the place to be! I love listening to all the speakers and feeling the spirit and being prompted of what I need to do to better my life.

I love that my boys go to the Priesthood Session together and that some of my grands and their mommy's come to visit me during that time.  Natalie and her kids came this year and we played a few games and Natalie and I visited.  I love visiting with my girls.  Friday night I had that pleasure with Kelsi.  I learn a lot from these cute young mothers and they enrich my life and strengthen my testimony.

It's a tradition that we go to LaFerrovia with the entire family after the Priesthood session on Saturday.  I call in our order and so we don't have to wait and it helps the restaurant since they get a few big groups.  We missed Ivy and Zaden since they were enjoying their daddy's.

I always enjoy seeing my kids and grands visit and enjoy each other.  The grands usually end up under the table playing.  Kamryn brought her pizza making toys and they gathered there after they ate.  Some ice water had got spilled on Larry's lap when Jordyn was handed to him across the table and before long I felt cold on my leg and noticed that the grands were putting ice on me.  I was holding Behr and didn't notice right away.  The grands thought that was so funny....I did too!
(I love and sustain these men)
I loved listening to our cute Prophet, President Monson first thing this Sunday morning.  I was 3 when he was called to be an apostle and I have many memories of him speaking to us at conferences.  I have always loved listening to him.  He's a great man and wonderful speaker.  He talked about Choices today.  Every choice we make should lead us closer to our Heavenly Father. He truly is a Prophet of God.

Elder Holland finished the conference expressing his love for all of us along with the other disciples.  He is a powerful speaker and his talk was the perfect one to end this conference. "Keep loving, keep trying, keep trusting, keep believing, keep going.  Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow and forever."

We are so blessed to have a Prophet and Apostles guiding and directing us.  I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I'm a better person because of it!

Friday

Celebrating Barbie

Today I took Barbie to lunch for her birthday which was yesterday.  We went to So Delicious in Roy for Sushi. It really was so delicious.  We got a Monster and Mango Roll to share.  Yummmy!  I loved the salad dressing too....oh my word....so delicious! ☺

I love this girl!  I've known barbie for over 18 years but the last few years we have become friends!  I admire Barbie and all she does.  Barbie is such a family oriented gal.  Her best friends are her cute family and sisters.  She is always doing something with and for them.  I'm glad that her girls and family spoiled her for her birthday because she surely deserves it.

After lunch we checked out the New Roy Library and when I went to take a picture of Barbie I noticed Tammy G in the background.  I went over to Tammy and sat down next to her and when she hadn't noticed I rolled my chair right by hers and bumped my shoulder into hers.  I am really glad she didn't scream when she jumped and turned to look to see who bumped her and there my face was so close to hers. ☺ haha it was funny!  I knew I might see Tammy at the Library because she has a few "offices" and this new library is one of them.

When Barbie was called to be my counselor in SNAP she was so nervous and afraid she wouldn't be able to really like it. But, Barbie is a natural and loved those people from the very first night.  She didn't hold back and she knows them all so well and is such a wonderful leader.  I'm so glad Heavenly Father chose her to work with me.  In this calling the different Stakes choose someone for each position in the Special Needs Mutual Program.  I was thrilled beyond measure when I heard Barbie was called to serve with me.  Barbie's a keeper!  I'm so thankful for this friend of mine!

Breakfast ~ If you had to enter a competition for the "Most Uselessly Unique Talent", what would your talent be? I'd say my multi-tasking skills.  I can work hard all day and accomplish very little.  I go into a room for something and get distracted and start doing something else before I remember what I was originally doing.  Often I feel like a chicken with it's head cut off.....(seriously where did that phrase come from?  like anyone knows what a chicken with it's head cut off feels like) ☺

Lunch ~ What do you think is the best feeling in the world? Holding a new born baby in my arms!  It's physical as well as spiritual! (the "s" thing did come to my mind ☺)

Dinner ~ Can you comfortably eat in a restaurant by yourself? I would not be able to do that ... not even fast food. Go to a movie?  I have done that before during the day when there was hardly anyone around.  No one knows if you are saving a place for someone and people don't usually pay attention to others when they are at the movie.

Midnight Snack ~ What punctuation mark best describes your personality and why? "!" Exclamation Point !!!  Everything is important to me!!!

Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?) Happiness is an Inside Job! We're All Responsible For Our Own Happiness! Even in the most trying times we have the power in us to still Be Happy!

Thursday

The Best Nanny

Kimleighel is the Best Aunt and Nanny!  Kimi loves these little ones so much and is so good with them.  Every other Thursday she gets to watch Sadie for a few hours too.  I enjoy watching Kimi with her cute nieces and nephews.  Kimi loves babies like I love babies.  I'm happy that she brings them to our house so I can see them before I go bowling.  They are all so cute!

Tuesday

Tuesdays with Larry

I think today might be the last of Larry's half days on Tuesday.  We have enjoyed our  Tuesday afternoons together.  We have gone to the Temple most of those days.  I guess we will start going in the evenings again.  I liked the afternoon sessions....they aren't packed and we had time to go to dinner afterwards.

Today instead of attending the Temple we decided to go the Family History Center in SLC.  Larry really wants to learn how to find names and do what is needed to take those names to the temple.  Debbie and Paul Widdison went us since Debbie is a missionary at the Center two days a week.  She knows her stuff and I think she helped Larry out a lot.  I'm not interested right now in my life.  I know I will love it but right now I have other things I am trying to do....I don't think it's my time quite yet.  Paul laughed at me as I twiddled my thumbs and twirled in my chair. (I wasn't really that bad...but I wasn't paying attention after the first hour)  I was there to support Larry and so I sat there while he learned.  I thought about going to another computer and looking up some names but didn't.  Instead I pulled out my phone and played a few games. ☺

Larry's head was hurting with all the things he had been shown.  He was ready to leave and go get some dinner.  We stopped at Sizzler since it's fast and yummy.  I enjoyed our conversations with the Widdisons.  Paul mentioned something about the temple that made me stop and think.  He said that when we take a name through that person is required to be there so they will know what they are asked to accept or not.  He thinks some of those "angels" might be bored and that's why its hard for us to stay awake sometimes as well.  I like believing they are with us.  Sometimes I feel their presence and I know they are happy to have their work done.

I dropped both Larry and Debbie off to get their cars from Widdison Auto and then Larry and I headed to the church for a class on Marriage and Family Relations.  Larry told the Fosters (Kirk and Janet) that if they needed more people for their class we would be happy  to attend.  I guess they needed more people. ☺ Actually tonight they really did.  There were only 3 couples that showed up.  It was a good class and I think we just might enjoy going to it each Tuesday Evening.

Monday

Happy Birthday Tammy G

It's a good thing this girl had a birthday or I'd still be trying to get with her.  I have tried many times over the last month but it's been impossible to get time with Tammy.  I finally made her commit a few weeks ago to let me take her to lunch for her birthday today.  It was such a fun day.

We went to Idle Isle in Brigham and I was glad to drive there just so we could talk.  I wasn't sure how much time I was going to get with Tammy but we ended up having the entire day.  We caught up on each others lives.  We made silly video's where our faces were distorted and I laughed so hard my tummy muscles hurt.  We are pretty hilarious at times!  We talked about a lot of spiritual things which I always enjoy.  The time went fast and it was me that needed to get home.  I sure love this fun, crazy, in tune, loving, spiritual friend of mine.  I hope we get to celebrate many more birthdays together.  Tammy adds so much joy to my life!  We both believe in Angels...and she is one of mine for sure!

Sunday

My Favorite Sunday

Easter is and always has been my favorite Sunday of the year!  I remember as a little girl feeling the difference of this day.  I loved getting a new dress, and having an Easter Basket, always with a chocolate bunny, but those things are not what made the difference.  The difference is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I love hearing the story of His resurrection.  I know that He lives!  The Celebration of  Easter is Celebrating The Greatest Miracle Ever!  I love knowing that we will all live again with our families and Heavenly Father.  I love how I feel every Easter Sunday!  I love when we can share our testimonies of Him on Easter....I did that again today.  (I share quite often because Heavenly Father wants me to)

I love all the fun things that go along with Easter.  I love our Family  Easter Traditions!  A few years ago we started sneaking up to the doors of our grands and helping the Easter Bunny out.  We leave bunny prints and a stuffed toy and sometimes another treat.  It's fun and this year Jared and Kimi came along and had a good time too.  Larry thought we should ring the door bell and run.  I think just leaving the items there for Sunday is best but this year we rang the door bells.

Parker peeked out his window when he heard our car. (we were on the North Side of their house)  He saw us sneak everything up to the door.  He even saw us make bunny prints...he watched it all. ☺  I looked at his window because they had just turned the lights out when we got there but I didn't see him.  He jumped out of bed and ran for the door when he heard the door bell ring.  By the time the door was opened we were long gone and Parker was probably telling his family all about what he had seen out his window. haha (I later learned that he wasn't sure if it was us or some red van...we will have to be more careful next year)
I still put treats in the married kids buckets.  In fact, this year the married kids got a kids movie.  I didn't think of getting one for the three that aren't married and so even though they got more treats their buckets looked like they got less.
I got a cute text from Justin this Easter morning with my cute grands and their stuffed animals.  Cutest Smiles Ever!
I love getting pictures of my kids whenever I get the chance.  They allow me to take them on special days like today.  The families change so quickly and I enjoy capturing the memories!
I love our Easter Egg Hunt Tradition.
This year the north lawn was for the babies 2 and under.  The eggs were all over the grass and the little ones had a great time putting them in their buckets.  They all got a lot of eggs.  The sand box was for the older grands and it was so much fun watching them run around.  Up the steps and down the slide.  Through the tires again and again.  They needed a little help reaching a few of the eggs that were on the roof and high on some of the playground equipment.  I love running around after everyone trying to get everyone's pictures.  It makes me laugh and smile all over.  Everyone gets to hunt in the front yard.  I love watching my big kids run around with cute buckets swinging from their hands trying to find the eggs.  Always such a fun day! They search high and low, and all around, and through every bush, and under every clump of grass.  It's fun to watch.  I count how many eggs we hide and we never find them all.  We do make sure all the money is accounted for though.
This is a picture with everyone except me and Kimleighel.  I was taking the picture and Kimi was still at church.
Larry took this picture when Kimleighel got home...so this is our bunch!
I thought we'd try to get a picture of just the grands and this is the best I got.  I chopped Kamryn's head off and Zaden is being a goof, but Sadie hadn't crawled off yet and everyone is there so it is good.  I think these little people are so stinkin cute!  They make my heart smile.
We don't have a traditional dinner.   This year we had chicken roll ups, pink gravy, corn, deviled eggs, orange slices, orange salad, and a green salad.  I love having everyone over for dinner.  I really enjoy listening to everyone talk to each other.  I love seeing my family enjoy each other!

It was a wonderful day from start to finish.  I'm so thankful for the Atonement and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I am so thankful for my marvelous family.  We are truly Blessed!
