Friday

a Grand day

This week I have been working on my blog books a lot.  I have also been going to Trichelle's about 3:15 so that Kimleighel can go to work.  I just stay with the kids for about 30-45 minutes until Trichelle gets home.  I enjoy seeing the grands every day but for some reason haven't taken pictures.  I think it's probably because I am using holding the baby.  Zaden made my day the other day when he didn't want me to go.  He said that he just wanted me to sit on the couch and keep talking.  The grands are so sweet.

Today I was planning on watching Mya, Parker and Macie while Natalie went to the Temple with her nephew.  I thought she needed me home at 4:30 but really she needed to be in the Temple at 4:30.  She called while I was at Trichelle's and I told her that she could bring the kids to me but she checked with gramps first and he said they could go to his house.  I think gramps enjoys the little ones. (I know he does) He lets them watch cartoons and eat treats...they like those things.  They were happy and content when I picked them up and we had a good time at my house.  Before they left Kevin and Jordyn came over for awhile.  Macie was getting tired and not happy if Jordyn touched anything that she likes playing with.  They made me laugh. Jordyn's binkie made me laugh...so funny!  It was a Grand day in every way.  (I also went and helped Carla iron some table runners she is making to sell tomorrow at a Boutique)

Breakfast ~ If you could swallow a pill that would stop anything of your choice from ever happening to you again (besides getting sick), what would the pill permanently end? I think aging.  I don't mind getting old...I just don't like looking old.

Lunch ~ What thought or sentiment would you like to have copied and put into one million fortune cookies? You are Beautiful just the way You are!

Dinner ~ What is the greatest distance you have ever driven in a single day?
I'm not really sure but I know that we have drove all day many times in our life.  Larry would always tell me that we would stop after a days drive but we usually didn't because he would just keep going.  We've gone to Phoenix, California and the Church History sites and our distance is always way past what I would prefer.

Midnight Snack ~ What is the coldest you have ever been in your life, and what is the hottest you have ever been? It seems like the coldest times are when I've been sick and can't get warm for anything.  I'm sure I've been cold plenty of times because of the weather too but nothing comes to mind.  The hottest is probably in Phoenix the few times we visited the Coys when they lived there.  We pretty much played in the pools everyday to cool off.  A little FYI...I don't do well in the heat.  I get sick and weak in hot temps.

Recipe of the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life what is it just for the week?) Slow Down and Enjoy the Journey!  This week I haven't had a bunch of things on my calendar and it's been nice in a way. I might even add: Communicate Your Feelings Instead of Letting Them Get Under Your Skin. (my hands have been suffering because I wasn't sharing my feelings...stress finds a way out)

Whooooo Are YOU?

It was my turn to be over our activity night.  I came across this cute idea of having the girls write something nice about each other on the board and taking their picture so that they will always remember the nice things said about them.  I added to the idea and went with a little "owl" theme.  I think it turned out fun.  We had 17 girls tonight and so it took longer than I had planned.  Each gal sat in front of the board and everyone wrote something nice about her then I took her picture.  I could tell this was going to take some time and so I had the girls go up and squeeze in when they could.  It might have gotten a little crazy but we needed to keep it going because of the time.   I had a little owl ornament I wanted them to make too and even though it was super simple and only required gluing of a few things it took a lot of time too.  Needless to say we went a little over (15-20 min) but I decided I wasn't going to worry about it.  More girls showed up tonight and at least 5 of them were new that I had forgot to count. (a few I just met)  Had I known I would have glued the owls together and just let the gals put the 3 circles together...oh well....I didn't know.  I really do enjoy our nights together...these gals are so sweet and kind.

Wednesday

Mallory's Birthday Lunch

Well Mallory has caught up with Kathy and I.  Today we celebrated her birthday...same place...same time. (Applebee's at 3:00)  We really did think we got a group shout of us but I guess the gal taking our picture didn't push the button hard enough because it wasn't there when I got home...thus the selfie of me. (I wanted to be in the picture too)  I love these two and I love our little lunch tradition of taking each other out a few times for each of our birthdays.  I love visiting and discussing and supporting each other.  It's just great having such wonderful friends.  We mentioned how fast the last 5 years have went!  We are not mid life but a ways past that.  It seems weird that we have lived longer than we are going to live. (reality is crazy sometimes)  We have shared so much of our lives together and it has been good.  Mal and I use to meet for lunch every Monday while we were young moms...that was life saving for me.  It's been fun growing up together.  We've all learned and experienced so much and we are all quite fabulous. (wink/wink...but true) The change in each of us is so good, and for that reason alone...growing older isn't so bad.  The journey through life is easier with wonderful friends and family.  Friends are very good listeners and they understand and can give really good advice.  I love Mallory and Kathy and I cherish their friendship!

Tuesday

Roses

These were left by my door today!  They are Larry's way of saying, "I Love You" and "I'm Sorry"!  I think they are beautiful and I think Larry is truly the Best!

Monday

My Thought

So Saturday I thought my battery in my car had died.  I had gone to a few of the grands soccer games and then before heading home I took Ivy to Swigs to get a drink and some cookies.  Ivy had won some free coupons for Swigs and so I was more than happy to take her, since I really like a little treat from there every now and then.  I got back in my car to go and turned the switch and absolutely nothing happened.  No click, no noise, just nothing.  I called Larry and since he wasn't able to leave work I called his dad. (times like this I'm so glad we still have gramps...and I miss my dad more)  Anyway, while he was coming I decided to pop the hood so that others would know why I was saving the spot next to me. While I had the hood open I looked at the battery. One of the knobs had a cover and when I lifted it up I noticed that a cable wasn't all the way down over the battery like it probably should be.  When dad got there he noticed that too and said that might just be the problem...it was!  I didn't need jumped...the cable just needed to be pressed down and tightened.

I got thinking.....Life is like the battery sometimes.  We feel empty and dead inside.  We might even question are purpose in life and think that there isn't any.  I was talking with a family member who thought just that.  I couldn't believe this person felt that way since.  They have so much going for them....is good at so many things.....attracts people like a magnet.....is such a hard worker....the envy of many!  I felt sad for this person and thought "their cable needs tightened".  Satan is good at slowly loosening our cables and making us think we are worthless.  The dude is a jerk!  Look around and start counting your blessings when you start feeling this way.  Plan things in your life if you aren't having fun.  You are the one that makes it fun...it really is up to each of us and not others to do that for us.  It's going to happen....your cable is going to jiggle a bit and you are going to notice it.  Don't quit but rather tighten the cable or ask someone to help you tighten it back on.  Being Grateful and Counting our Blessings energizes our own batteries...serving others gives it a good jump too.  Your choice though....it's always up to us individually with the Help of the Lord (never forget to ask Him for help) to keep our batteries full and charged.

Saturday

The Diary of Anne Frank

Tonight I went to the Play with my "Playing" friends.  We went to The Blue Lemon before and the place was packed.  Tonight was Women's Conference and there were a lot of gals eating out before the session.  I didn't feel bad for missing because I don't mind watching it on the computer.  Isaac got to join us tonight because he needed to watch a play for his choir class.  He was the only guy in the restaurant that didn't work there.  He's a good sport and such a fun kid.

The play was interesting and well done.  I think it's time for me to get the book again and read it.  I'm sure I read it in High School but probably didn't pay to close of attention to what I was reading because I couldn't remember much.

Much of the fun is all the talking we do on the way down and back.  At some point tonight Natalie told me that she has been thinking about writing me a Thank You.  I guess one time Natalie mentioned how she doesn't like her picture taken because of her eyes and I told her she had "smiley" eyes and they were cute.  That meant a lot to her and she has felt better about her eyes ever since.  I'm glad I was able to brighten her life a little.  By Natalie telling me that I had it also brightened mine.  The drive home we talked about Ghosts and Angels.  We were home before we knew it and I was feeling good.

I came home to a tent set up in my piano room.  Larry and Jared went and bought a big tent for deer hunting and set it up so they would know it went before they got to where they are going hunt.  I wish I would have taken a picture but I think it was too late to think about it.
