I absolutely love going to the Temple. Today Spud was sealed to his sweet heart Wendy and it was so cool! I love feeling the spirit and I always do in the Temple. I love Mallory! Mallory is such a great friend....she's "family" that I made for myself. Kathy is also one of those friends! I love them both! It was a beautiful day!
I also went to a baby Shower for Natasha. Natasha is Gina's daughter and Gina is a friend of mine. I reunited with Gina at a card class and absolutely love her. Gina is fighting cancer and is so positive and happy and beautiful. Natasha came to the card class too and so we all got to know her as well. She's a cute girl. My other crazy, fun friends were there too. Dang we always have a great time together!
After the shower it was back to Bountiful for Spud's reception. Larry couldn't make it to the Temple because he was working and so we needed to go back. Larry loves the Toomer Family as much as I do. (well maybe not as much because I really, really do)

Wammy Mammy
While at the Doctors on Wednesday they scheduled me for my yearly mammogram! Today I went! Today wasn't as bad as the other two I've had. I give credit to the technician. She was older than me and just laughed at my modesty. I kept holding the gown to cover me. She kept telling me to let it go and relax my arms. We giggled.....I was having a hard time relaxing. I was grabbing the machine and hanging on. She was laughing and telling me to let go. It was okay to hold on with one hand....I think I was suppose to at times but not with both. We just kept laughing. I finally tried to just not care and let my "girls" be free......that only lasted a few seconds and I was pulling at the gown again. I thought it was especially funny when she told me to hold my breath. I was holding my breath. I don't know how anyone can breathe when they are being squished like that. I didn't dare move or breathe. I will admit though when she told me NOT to breathe that is exactly when I needed to breathe.....every time! I giggled as I drove home! It's these kind of tests that remind me I am getting old!
I hope I never have a guy give me a mammogram! Last year it was a guy that took me to my room and I was horrified....he was just a receptionist though and I was very relieved!

Midweek Fun
Today was busy and fun. I got up and went to the Doctor for my yearly physical. I feel like a toddler again going in for my well/care check up. I never go to the Doctor and didn't even take my kids in for their yearly exams. I have to go now though since we changed insurances last year and my new Doctor won't give me my prescription for my thyroid without being checked. I am healthy and good in all areas. I guess I'll go back in another year. There are a few things I need to improve on though so I can answer the questions a bit better. #1. I need to exercise regularly and not just occasionally. I go in spurts and really I forget. I need to make exercise a habit! #2. Give up Caffeine. I don't drink it often but might consider giving it up. (I don't that will really change...but maybe) #3. Take my vitamins daily. Again I just forget but do take them most days. (they make me sick so I don't mind forgetting every few days)
It was a nice day for swimming. It's been so hot! Darinda had the pool open and a few of her girls were there so me and my kids headed up. It was nice and nice visiting with Darinda, Becky and Natalie. I also really enjoy watching the kids. They are so cute. Oh and just for the books.....my swimming shorts weren't as loose as they were at the beginning of the summer when I first put them on. :( I'd better drink more water instead of just play in it!We got home and Landon Yearsley and his little family came over. It's been years since he's stopped by and it was great seeing him and meeting his family. I love the Yearsley's and I'm so glad that they take the time to keep in touch. Larry and I went to Jody Harrops viewing....which really isn't fun. The family seemed to be in good spirits. Jody has been sick for so long. I am happy for him!
I finished the night crafting with some ladies from the ward. It is always fun getting together with the ladies! I could really care less about the crafting at this point in my life. (I'd rather buy it done) But the socializing always gets me. Next time I think that's all I will go for. I'd be happy to just watch and talk! The projects turned out so cute though. We have some talented and creative ladies.
Of course we had snacks. Women and snacks just go together. I ate a few of Ashley's delicious sweet rolls. (ha...maybe that's why the swim shorts aren't as loose) I didn't have dinner though so I just counted them as my dinner and dessert.
I sat by Cindy....I love Cindy! Cindy makes me feel good about myself. She likes me in spite of my naughtiness....in fact I think she likes me because of my naughtiness. (I've become rebellious and I'm open about it) I appreciate the people that just love me anyway! I'm thankful for these ladies and so glad they invited me to join them. I like being invited!
It was a fun day and night! Life is just so good if we just look around and make it that way. We do have to help "good" to happen!

Out of Comfort Zone
Today I stepped right out of my comfort zone and asked Teresa to lunch. You might not think that is a big deal since I go to lunch with friends all the time. That's true but it's usually with people I know. I only know Teresa from FB but really like her. We both went to the same High School but she's a few years older. So really the only way we know anything about the other is through Face Book. We pulled in the parking lot of Zuppa's about the same time right by each other and recognized each other immediately. There wasn't really much awkwardness. I was still nervous though and so I talked. (I even admitted to being nervous...she just laughed) I talk more when I'm nervous especially if the other person isn't talking. Teresa doesn't talk as much. Teresa is a lovely person and I'm glad that I took a deep breathe and just went with my gut to ask her to lunch. (I really can't believe myself sometimes!)

The Trek I didn't go on!
I usually do whatever Larry wants to do. I cook what he likes even though it isn't always what I like. I really try to please my sweet hubby BUT I didn't want to go to trek and so I didn't. I knew Larry would "guilt" me into going if I didn't leave. So I left. I don't regret it and I'm glad that Larry, Jaydan, Kimi, and Jared were able to experience a wonderful trek together. I was thrilled when I heard that Jared was going to be able to go because I knew he would love it. He did love it ..... in fact they all did. Larry has been very involved in planning trek with Courtnie Merril and Jayden Fulmer for a long time. It was worth all their hard work because trek turned out great. So many pitched in and helped out and it ran smoothly. The experience was good.
Some of the things I learned from my family is that trek was perfect even though it poured buckets of rain on them the first day and was hard. Trek was fun. They played games together and ate good food. They talked about early pioneers who walked the same trails (or at least the same land) They bonded and grew new friendships with everyone who went. They felt the presence of Angels. The veil is very thin and testimonies grew.
My family talked about working together and helping others out. Everyone did that. They were united and all worked together. Even though it was hard they laughed....they laughed a lot!
I learned that the hardest day was the Second day when the women had to pull the wagons up a hill by themselves. Jared told me he cried....Larry and Jaydan also cried. In fact everyone cried. It was hard on the women. Kimi was feeling sick to her stomach and wanted to quit but remembered the pioneers and that helped her to keep going. She felt the spirit come over her and give her peace and helped her feel better. She cried but didn't want the others to see. I think she thought she was the only one but in reality everyone was shedding plenty of tears. It was a humbling time of the trek.
I learned that bodies get worn down and exhausted but are able to keep going. I learned that the Priesthood is very powerful. Emmalee Winter sprained her ankle and was able to still complete trek without any help. I learned that women don't need the men as much as the men need the women and that women are the crowing jewel. (the men said that)
We are all in this together and we can do anything with each others help. People are just good!
I learned that the girls in the Shannondoah Ward can beat the boys in tug a war every time. I learned that Jared is a good sport and didn't care who won but enjoyed playing regardless.
I didn't learn this but know that Bishop Ropelato loves the people in the Shannondoah Ward and would do anything for any of them. He is truly a man of God and lets God guide him and direct him. I admire that a lot! Even though I wasn't there to grow closer to anyone I love them all too! I admire every single person that went on trek. I am thankful to everyone for blessing the members of my family!
I am thankful for a book that I got "Who's Pulling Your Strings". I read just a little while I was gone avoiding trek and helping my niece. I am pleased with myself for Pulling My Own Strings this time. I know me and know that I do not do well in the hot weather. (I get sick) I also know that my back is bent and too much standing at one time hurts it. I am glad that Larry tries to understand and lets me make my own decisions. I have a great family and a great ward family!
I am thankful for the pioneers and their faith in God and for their powerful example. I am thankful that they shared their believes so that I can be were I am today. We are so blessed!
