Today my mom turned 78 and I think she looks great! She's such an ambitious lady and works hard every day. Susan and I took her to lunch at the Greenery. Mom was really wanting a "hedda gobbler" we all ordered the same thing. It was fun visiting and spending time together. I took my mom a Lemon Meringue Pie since I just learned that was her favorite. I also found a cute shirt for her that she seemed to like. I had quit buying her clothes because she would give them away. In fact, she gave a lot of things I gave her away which made buying a gift for her kind of hard. I would buy her books and write in them or get her a CD or treat. I have given her jewelry too and honestly have never seen her wear any of it. Oh well....I love my mom and once I give her a gift it is hers to do with what she wants.
I told my mom about finding a dime in Wendover and thinking of daddy right away. (I found another dime in my coat pocket that same day) My mom smiled and told me that my dad loved playing the dime machines. Another little thing I learned about my dad that I didn't know. It's funny you think you know someone yet realize there is always so much more you could know. I wonder if I had known that while we were in Wendover if I wouldn't have played it in the dime machine? hmmm...I'm not sure! I thought about saving it and taking it to Las Vegas with me but instead I put it in my bank for chocolate. My dad also loved chocolate.
Enough about my dad since this is my mom's day! My mom is wonderful and does a lot of good. She goes to the Elementary and volunteers there and has for many years. She helps others and is talented and crafty...still! She still makes Handcrafted Cards for others. She crochets blankets for her great grands and others. She organizes all her stuff .... she has a lot of stuff...but it is organized. She is a great lady that has worked hard to be where she is. My mom has so much faith and a Wonderful Testimony of our Savior and Heavenly Father. I give her credit for teaching me the direction I should go in my life. I know that we helped make her day a bit more special. My brother, Bennett just got to my moms and is going to work in SLC for a few months. I am thrilled that my mom will have company. I am thrilled that Bennett is here. I ♥ My Entire Family!
Monday
The Rest of the Week

On Wednesday I got up and went to a Visiting Teaching Tune Up our Relief Society was having. I really thought I'd better go because I am really loving who I go visiting teaching to, who I go with, and who comes to me. I wanted to make that clear that all is good with me. The Presidency went to a lot of work. They had a treat table that looked so cute, and some fun handouts. They went the extra mile for sure. I love Relief Society and the sisterhood we share.
I went home and made cookies since I had some ripe banana's waiting for me. I shared a lot of these cookies. I like making a lot so I am able to share. (I took some to Kathy, Carla, JoAnn, Wendy, Carmen, Crystal, and Gloria)
The first Wednesday of the Month is the Night our family goes to the Temple together. We just go with those that can make it. On Wednesday is was only Jaydan that joined Larry and I. I was glad that he was able to come this time and since none of us had to hurry home we decided to stop for a little treat afterwards. Sub Zero Ice Cream was still open and so we went there. It was "cool"watching them freeze the ice cream right in front of us and it was also very good. I am so Thankful the Ogden Temple is opened again....I love it!
Thursday I went bowling and something popped in my wrist and then moved to my elbow. It was really weird. I kept bowling and even though it hurt I was still able to bowl. I was over the activity for SNAP this week and I feel good with how it turned out. I did a little lesson on love and kindness. I had the gal's all participate by reading a quote about kindness. After the lesson we moved some tables in so everyone could sit and make a card to give to someone. We also made some funny little rings using a pipe cleaner and chocolate kiss. The cards turned out really cute and the gals really seemed to enjoy making them. I was so glad that Kathy had helped me with them...they all turned out very cute and original.
Friday I went bowling again and my arm still hurt a little. I was nervous because of my arm and my first frame I only knocked down 3 pins total. I think I might have made the ladies I was bowling with a little nervous too. I could tell my arm would be fine and the rest of the time I bowled okay. I know that was a relief to the team I was subbing for.
After bowling I did a little shopping and then came home to get Jared to take to my mom's. My mom just got carpet in her basement and needed some help getting the furniture back. She only let us move the couch in and then Jared and I wiped down all the walls in that room for her. I also cleaned her tub and sink since she is letting me do that for her. I left Jared with my mom for a minute while I went to give Gloria VanDenakker a Sunshine Bag and some cookies. Gloria has been sick off and on since Christmas and I have been worried about her. I like Gloria and I know that she appreciates and likes me too. We had a good visit but I needed to leave because Larry had made it home from his little trip to Tulsa Oklahoma. (business)
I went back to my mom's to get Jared and to tell my mom good bye. Before we left TJ and Trichelle came over. My mom had called them and asked for some help and so they came to help. I don't know why I opened my mouth at all but I did and right away I regretted the things that came out. I can't stand to see others miss treat my children no matter how old they are and things had been building up inside me and out they came. I was in the wrong and no amount of sorry's could fix or take away the things I said. I could see that I hurt TJ and I know that I did Trichelle as well. I had told TJ that it wouldn't be right at all for him to name their baby after his mom since she wasn't nice to Trichelle...which by the way she really isn't. However....his mom is a good mom to him and has a lot of good qualities and I know she is doing her best. I just wish she could see Trichelle for who she really is. Trichelle is so kind, tender and sensitive and doesn't deserve to have little "digs" thrown at her. It breaks my heart but so does my behavior. I don't want my children to worry about sharing their feelings with me. I can keep confidences and usually do. I am very sorry and regretful that my mouth operated faster than my brain this time. I feel awful and sick inside. I feel like I totally acted the very opposite of who I really am and what I believe. I don't want to be remembered for doing stupid things like this and hopefully have felt enough pain from it to learn a valuable lesson. It is so weird that one act of unkindness could change the entire feeling of doing so much good this week. I guess it's because we are not made to be unkind and are not comfortable with ourselves when we are. I asked for forgiveness and prayed for it too. And at this point the only thing for me to do is begin again. (another painful lesson learned)
Saturday Larry and I spent the entire day together. For Christmas Larry got us tickets to see "America" in concert. He figured it would also count as my Valentine Gift since it is the week before Valentines. America was performing in Wendover and so we left early and went to a show in SLC before driving to Wendover. We went and saw "Unbroken"...a movie based on the true story of Olympian Louis Zampernini. His Plane crashed in WWII and he spent 47 days in a raft with two fellow crewmen before he was caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp. I'm sure what really happened was much worse that could ever be portrayed in a movie. I cried and thought about all the men and women that have fought for our freedoms. I can't imagine all that others have gone through for this country. I am glad that Louis was so strong with such a good heart. He was able to forgive those that mistreated him and was able to praise and honor our Heavenly Father. We are so blessed because of the sacrifice of others.
After the movie we drove that long, nothing to look at road to Wendover where we had a nice Mini Suite waiting for us. Larry was so proud of himself for upgrading to a suite....I was too because it was nice. We enjoyed a nice dinner and then relaxed a little before heading to the Concert Hall. We had good seats but I think all the seats would be good in that place. We were nine rows back where the floor raised and right in the middle. The concert was really enjoyable. I thought I might see someone that we knew and I was right. On the row behind me, April and Shirley from bowling were there with some of their friends. Shirley's hubby just passed away and I was so glad to see her out with April. I gave her a big, long hug....my heart goes out to her. I love the friends I have made from bowling....so many nice ladies. Larry also saw a guy he knew out in the parking lot of the Hotel we were staying at. ☺
It was nice spending the weekend with Larry. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves and reminisce about our youth. America was the first concert Larry ever went to and has always been his favorite band. I got thinking about the concerts I have been to. The first one I remember going to was Billy Joel. I think that might have been the only one I went to before getting married. Since marriage Larry and I have seen Dolly Parton and America (again). I took Trichelle and Justin to see the Dixie Chicks and Trichelle took me to Bruno Mars. I'm not sure if that is all but it might be. We don't go to many concerts but enjoy them when we do!

I Love The Temple
I can see that this year I am drivin to be at the Temple. I want to go every week and feel anxious if I don't get there early in the week. I'm not sure exactly why but I'm loving it. (I do know that I am expecting extra help and so I want to help more as well) Today as I sat through the endowment I thought about the different films they show now. There are three new ones and each one has the exact wording but because the actors are different and have different expressions and pause differently I am able to get more out of the session. Thoughts come to my mind that didn't before. The first time I saw the film that was played today I remember thinking that something bothered me, something that didn't make a difference but totally was a distraction to me. Today I enjoyed the film so much more and wondered why I had been bothered before. Today it didn't seem that bad. (I didn't like the floor in Heaven ☺)
When I went and visited Susan in Washington DC while she was serving a Temple mission we discussed the reason for more than one film. It is so that we will get different things from them as they are portrayed differently. We are able to learn more and quicker. I remember Susan asking me what film I liked better and that was when there were only two. I can honestly say there are things in each of the three films that I really like and a few things I might not like as much as one of the other films. I don't have a favorite. What I do like is the feeling I get every time I go to the Temple. I feel peace, love, understanding and just happy! The Temple is the Place to Be!

Movie Day at Carla's
Once a month we are trying to have a movie day at Carla's just so we can have another girls day together. It's also wear your pj's if you want to be comfy. I wore my comfy sweatshirt since I don't own pj's...only night gowns. I think I will be looking for some pj's to go to the party in.
I got there at 11:00 since that's when we said it started. Robin came about 11:30 and Kathy showed up around 12:00. We watched The Help since Carla had never seen it. It was fun hanging with my friends. Patti came later so that she could pay for Disneyland since we also made today the day we had to commit and pay for the tickets. We had one gal that was planning on coming back out...that's why we needed a commitment date. (I know she was really planning on it and wanted to but things just aren't going to work out for her) Now our Hotel will work out and we won't need to get another room and we can also drive Carla's car. We had things planned out though if more would have been able to join us. When you plan something like this you need to be flexible....there's that being flexible again! Everyone has had the opportunity to join us and now we can make decisions based on the exact number. (almost exact...we are still waiting on one that has a good reason for not knowing. Even still though we are able to make a plan and one more won't change it....we will just split everything with one more) I'm looking forward to Disneyland....such a Magical Place!
The day was fun and when I left I went and picked up Trichelle's kids so they could come and play for a while. Ivy sent me a paper airplane on Sunday asking when she could spend the night again. I don't know the answer to that but told her that she could come over after school...of course Zaden was invited too. I love that my grands enjoy coming over. I really love having them here. Kimleighel surprised the grands with a treat when she came home from work. She even brought me a drink and felt bad that she didn't have anything for Jared since she thought he would still be at school. I had a sip of my drink and gave it to Jared. I was impressed that Kimleighel was so thoughtful.
When Trichelle came to get the kids we had a really nice visit. I love visiting with my kids. I was glad Larry got home and was able to join us because he made a really good point about an issue that hadn't crossed mine or Trichelle's minds.
Kimleighel came down later and was all gabber boxy. I was relaxing and reading and Larry was working on a talk on the computer. I told Kimi to talk softer so it wouldn't bother Larry and I guess the noise hadn't bothered him until I said that. Then it bothered him and he quit and was a bit disturbed. We all left the room and everyone was feeling different emotions. I ended up going to Kimi's room and talking to her. She had been sharing her Patriarchal Blessing with me and I felt like that was important. Sometimes I don't give my kids at home the time or attention they need and when I recognize that I'm not I really try hard to give it to them. Heck...I wanted each of these children...I'd better pay attention to them! We had a great discussion and everything turned out wonderful.

Super Day
Today was Fast and Testimony Meeting at Church. We had a few visitors with our Ward today, Elder Fisher (apostle over our Stake) and President Jones. (our Stake President) Larry and I both thought that having them there might intimidate our members from sharing their testimonies. The counselor that was conducting asked us to keep our testimonies to 2-3 so that more would have the opportunity to share. Wow....no one was intimidated but I think everyone felt the Spirit! From the very first testimony shared there were others waiting to share theirs. We had people sitting on the front benches the entire meeting. I wonder why that doesn't happen every month? It should...the meeting is so much better when others share. I did share mine and was the second one up because I just can't help myself or hold back anymore. I love having the Spirit (Holy Ghost) with me and I have learned that I'd better not ignore Him or pick and choose when I listen to Him. My heart gets crazy and I can't swallow and my palms sweat and that is not comfortable at all and so I just go with it and share my testimony month after month. It makes me laugh every time these days. I could care less what others think or say. I know for what ever reason I am to share my testimony with others. It might just be a test of obedience for me....it doesn't matter....I will share.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the True Church. (others are wonderful just not complete) Joseph Smith was courageous and it was through him that it was reorganized. Heavenly Father does know each of us and so does Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. They each love us unconditionally as well. It is through Jesus that we are able to return to our Heavenly Parents. Jesus is are advocate. The Atonement is Real and blesses each and everyone of us. It's for us all and we all need it! We are blessed to have a living Prophet and when we follow the Prophet we will always be right! The Temples and scriptures, and church are to bless us and help us to be happy. God talks to us through the scriptures and the Holy Ghost. The Temple is a wonderful place to receive answers to our prayers. The temple is all about love and families. I am thankful I will be with my cute family forever. I am glad that I will also have the blessing of being sealed to my parents soon. Life is good when we focus on Heavenly Father. The commandments are to protect us and bless us...not restrict us! Heavenly Father wants us back and will direct us if we let Him! Church was Super!
Today is also the Super Bowl...which I could care less about. I don't care for football or sports on Sunday but the kids enjoy it and that is the only reason it is enjoyable to me. Having them together and here is the best.
I invited the Coy family over for dinner since we always say we need to get together more often. I didn't realize it was even the Super Bowl but didn't really care. I figured the game could be on and those that wanted to watch could and the rest could visit or play. It was a noisy but fun night.
I usually like to stop and watch the commercials and half time but that didn't really happen. I did see most of the half time from the table and actually thought it was pretty family friendly. I googled the commercials the next day and saw a few on the internet. I heard the game was good. At the end the team that had been behind was able to score and win. I do know the teams that played but really don't care to have it recorded here...because...I don't really care.I really enjoyed having the Coys over. I enjoyed watching our grands enjoy each other and I enjoyed visiting with everyone and watching the visiting going on throughout the room. I love seeing our kids and the Coy kids parent their children. They all do such a great job.
Kelsi and Braxton didn't come today because Kelsi has started having contractions and thought staying home would be more comfortable. I guess things are starting to happen for the arrival of Sadie Lou. I'm hoping that Sadie does come before the 15th....I think it would be cool if she was born on my Mom's birthday which is the 9th. Funny things we think while awaiting for the little one's arrival. Any day is perfect!
Our Dolphin Fans showed up today even though the Dolphins were not in the super bowl. Kevin and his family were true to their team!
It really was a Super Day in every way! Hooray! (the only cheer from me)

Let's Talk Travel Meme
Ok let’s talk travel, do you like to travel? Yes...I think traveling is fun to do. I like having a break from the normal life every once in awhile.
Where have you been? Oh my...I have been to Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Israel, Italy, Germany, Hawaii. To the LDS Church History Sites, California, Pennsylvania, Yellowstone. We've got around. ☺
Next place you want to go? hmmmm...Disneyland and Hawaii
What is something you MUST take with you when you travel? My camera..since I started blogging and making books from my blogs I love taking pictures.
How do you like to travel? (mode of transportation) I prefer to get there the quickest way possible which is flying. I'm so glad we get sky miles so that we don't usually have to pay for transportation.
With someone, or alone? I prefer traveling with others...my family and friends always make life more enjoyable. So I prefer not to be alone in my travels.
Do you dance in your car when there are other people with you? that would depend on who. I do when it's my kids or grands. I will bounce with the music any time if I want to though.
If you're quiet what does it mean? That I am thinking or troubled about something. It might also mean that I am knocked out or asleep since I am not usually quiet.
Favorite scent? I love the smell of things baking or cooking, grass, baby powder and lotion, my hubby, chocolate, flowers, rain, gummy bears, camp fires or ditches after being burned.
Favorite store? I guess Walmart since they get more of my money than any other store.
Say you wanted coffee.. what kind is your favorite? No Coffee for me...however I do enjoy the smell of coffee. I prefer Hot Chocolate and like Mint Chocolate or Cherry Chocolate.
Favorite kind of pizza? I like meat pizza....I really like most pizza.
Do you get embarrassed easily? Not as much now because I don't care as much what others think.
Do you mind people asking you personal questions? Not at all. I don't mind sharing my life with others.
You have a tank of gas, $50, and the day off… what do you do? put the $50 in my stash to add to it. As far as what I'd do with my time I'm not sure. I like going to lunch with friends, or getting a pedicure but sometimes I just enjoy staying home and relaxing since that doesn't happen much.
Favorite tv show? I don't watch tv...so no favorites. I use to like America's idol, or dancing with the stars but haven't watch those for years. I would rather read a book than watch tv.
Song you turn the volume up all the way to listen to? The Happy Song or anything with a good beat.
Something you keep in your car? My purse...it's in my glove box most of the time.
Highlight of your day? I love our family time in the mornings when we all meet by my bed and read scriptures together and say a prayer together as a family. Before anyone leaves my room I get a hug and kiss from each member. I love that most!
Something you do everyday that you wish you didn’t have to do? Prepare meals....I don't enjoy cooking dinner because I don't like deciding what to have.
Do you mind if people just show up at your house unannounced? Not at all...any time you want to come over is fine with me.
What do you do when you disagree with someone? I'd probably tell them depending on the circumstance. Sometimes just letting things go is better though. I don't like to stir things up or get too involved in things that don't pertain to me.
Do you enjoy rain? I do enjoy the rain. When it rains I get a comfy feeling and like to stay inside and read a book with a blanket. As a child I loved being soaked by the rain. I would probably still enjoy that but I don't like getting ready more than once a day.
Who’s your favorite person in the whole world? Each member of my family is my favorite! ♥
