Mya's Baptism

Everyone's prayers for Mya to be better for her baptism were answered.  She has been so excited to get baptized and didn't want to post pone if for being sick.  I was so glad that everything went as planned.  I love baptisms!  I always feel the spirit and it started right off for me today.  We got there about 20 minutes early and as people were coming in and filling up that Relief Society room I could feel the spirit so strong and my eyes leaked a little from it.

When the program started I struggled to hold back my tears.  I was thinking how grateful I was to be giving the closing prayer because I was a mess.  It didn't matter that I was the closing prayer.  I still cried and had a hard time getting my words out.

Mya is a spiritual giant!  She already has such a strong testimony of prayer and priesthood blessings.  She knows right from wrong and  doesn't like seeing immodest clothing on anyone.  She is just so pure and sweet!  Oh how I love Mya.....Oh how everyone loves Mya!  The primary president joked about having Parkers baptism at the Aquatic Center so there would be room for everyone.

I know that Mya understands her choice and decision to be Baptized!  She is a sweetheart and really does try to follow Jesus.  Mya is such a great example to us all!

Babying Sadie Baby

A year ago Braxton asked me if I would watch Sadie Lou this week.  She hadn't even been born yet but I told him and Kelsi I would gladly take Sadie while they went to Kauai. It's fun having my grands while their parents strengthen their relationships. I marked off the whole week for Sadie and it's a good thing.  Sunday Sadie and Jordy got to know each other better.  They are so cute together and I think they are going to be great friends.
Sadie goes to Day Care Mon-Wed out here by me and so on Monday I took her and dropped her off and then I went and ran some errands.  I went to the store, went to the doctor to make an appointment...I was really hoping they would just draw my blood so I could get my thyroid medicine.  Natalie called and asked me to go to Costco with her and so I left what I was doing and hurried to get a pedicure first.  It's been months and my feet needed some pampering. We went and picked up Mya's baptism announcements and I really enjoyed visiting with her.  I have the best daughter in "luvs" and enjoy each of them so much.  When I picked up Sadie they said that she didn't feel to good today.  She felt a little warm but I had still planned on taking her back in the morning while I went to the doctor.  I didn't take her back though at all.  Our sweet baby kept getting warmer and I knew I would be keeping her home with me.  I thought she had a little cold.
When I visited with the Doctor we chatted a little first.  He asked who I brought with me and I explained what Sadie's symptoms were and what I was doing for her.  I asked what I should do if her little cough got worse.  I felt like I got some good answers and was grateful that she went with me.  Sadie was happy even though she was feverish.  She was still eating pretty good and I wasn't worried too much.  I was getting some good snuggles and she went down easily.  I was really enjoying my little grand.
I wasn't planning on telling mommy and daddy that Sadie wasn't feeling good because I didn't want to worry them.  However, these days people like to face time and watch each other talk.  There was no hiding Sadie Lou's sick eyes.  She wasn't very happy or talkative the times they called.  It was obvious she didn't feel good.  Sadie did perk up though when Kimi and Jared where around.  She loves her Aunt and Uncle and they adore her.  It made me happy to see her cute smile and darling little tongue that she likes poking out the side of her mouth.
On Wednesday I thought she might be feeling a little better because she didn't seem to feel as hot. I knew she was still feeling a bit yucky because she wasn't herself. When I was changing her that day I noticed that her top tooth was visible.  I text her parents to see if it had been there before because I was pretty sure it hadn't been.  I was right.  Braxton said they knew it was coming but it hadn't popped through to their knowledge.  I was thankful to know that maybe that is why little Sadie wasn't up to par.  I really expected Thursday to be better than Wednesday but I was so wrong.  She was very feverish when she woke up and I could never get her temp to come down.  I was worried that she would get dehydrated because she wasn't wanting anything to eat or drink.  It was so sad seeing her like this.  I decided that I didn't want to end up in the Hospital with her and so I forced her bottles on her.  That's a hard thing to do.  Those little ones are strong and can clamp their little mouths down pretty good.  I used my finger to open it far enough to get the nipple in and then she would take it.  I only made her take 2 ounces at a time and figured that was good enough.  I did that throughout the day.  She was so snuggly with no energy but didn't cry.  She never really cried except when I gave her medicine or made her drink.  She's such a cutie.
Jordyn is at a cute age  and when they got home the other night she wanted to come to gramma's house and so Kevin and her came over.  I love that she wants to come play at our house.  She is also such a cutie.

Thursday was Sadie's worse day.  She was fevered all day even with me giving her medicine to bring it down. She slept a lot and snuggled a lot too. She woke up with stinky breath and so I googled why?  There was one comment or statement that got me.  Babies could have stinky breath if they are fevered, cutting teeth and are dehydrated.  Well I was pretty sure she was feverish because of teeth but I hadn't thought about her being dehydrated.  That's why I forced her to drink at least 2 ounces every few hours.  I felt so bad for little Sadie because she had no energy or smiles.  We got through it though and Friday when she woke up she didn't have a fever and her smiles were back.  WooHoo!
She is pretty much back to herself.  She's eating better, smiling and crawling all over and is happy.  We are all happy that she is feeling better.  I enjoyed our snuggles and kissing on her while she didn't feel good and that is the good part of having a sick baby but having a happy baby is the best!  I'm glad she is feeling good in time for mommy and daddy to get home!  What a cutie pie!

Book Club

Shanna hosted Book Club at her house today.  I was able to go since Sadie was feeling better and Kimleighel was home to watch her.  I have to say that Shanna is such a hostess.  She goes all out.  She always has different dishes set up and her food is always so yummy.  Shanna likes to cook and is really good at it.  I loved the shrimp dish today....yum!  I didn't think about taking pictures until we were discussing books...then I was sneaky about taking them with my phone.  I actually read a few books since our last meeting.  I read: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Ann Romney's Book, The Tatooed Mormon, A Lion and a Lamb and Cole for Christmas.

I must not be very good at giving book reports because someone really should have borrowed A Lion and a Lamb because it is a great story. It's about Willard Bean and his wife being called to serve a mission in Palmyra after the Saints had been ran out.  They were there for 23 years before they were released.  It's a great story with some good information about rebuilding the Church.  I really liked it.  I think Susan would like it but she had to miss this time.  Actually I think everyone will like it and so I will take it back again.  I did bring one book home and  have another one that I am reading.  I do enjoy reading and because of Book Club I actually take time every now and then to read.

Towards the end of our meeting today we discussed some spiritual things.  I sat there and thought how wonderful it was that I could feel the Spirit at Book Club.  We were all sharing our testimonies in a way with each other.  I just wanted to remember this because I love my friends and the discussions we have.

Tuesday

Boys Day with Grampa

Grandpa Larry invited the grand sons to come play on Tuesday after school.  It's Larry's day off and since Sadie isn't feeling good we decided a day with the grands would be great instead of our date to the Temple.  The boys were so excited.  They really wanted to play the Wii on Sunday but with all the people here for the party we didn't let them and that's when grandpa invited them.

The grands were really excited and surprised when Grandpa said that he would play with them.  They thought that was pretty cool.  Larry didn't take them home until around 7:30.  Actually Trichelle and TJ came and picked up Zaden and the decorations from Natalie's party that Trichelle had gotten.  When Larry took Parker home he was prepared to help give Macie a blessing.  He ended up helping give on to Mya as well since she had come home with a fever.  (they both had hand/foot/mouth)

These two boys get along really well together and love playing together.  I'm so glad they have each other.  They make this gramma's heart smile!

Sunday

Natalie's 30

Today is Natalie's birthday and she is now 30.  Justin said his week was crazy and asked if it would be okay to have some friends over after our family dinner.  I told him that would be great.  He got things organized and everything ready.  He had picked up a cake and some ice cream and brought it down early on Saturday.  He had asked Trichelle and Julie to be over that decorating.  They did a good job and it looked really cute.  Natalie made cheese cake too because that's her favorite.  Natalie came down with Mya and Parker and left Justin and Macie home.  Macie has hand/foot/mouth and didn't want to share it.  I felt bad and was going to volunteer to go stay with Macie but I am tending Sadie for a week while her parents are in Hawaii and I was afraid of picking up the virus and passing it to Sadie.  Larry decided that he would go and that when he got home he'd just shower and change clothes.  He's not as involved with the grands as far as holding them and so I agreed with him.  When he got to Justin's instead of staying he was able to bring Justin home with him.  Justin had asked our sweet Cindee to come watch Macie.  Cindee watched our kids when they were young and has worked for Larry since she was sixteen and our family adores her. I was glad that Justin thought to ask Cindee and she was too.  Cindee is so awesome!
Natalie was surprised and she even wiped a tear away.  I wiped a few tears away as well.  Justin told me that when he asked Natalie what she wanted this year she told him she just wanted to feel appreciated.  WooHoo...Justin had that covered and was relived that he had nailed it.  It was fun having Natalie's sisters and their families come.  I like Natalie's family and being around them.  They are good people.  About the time the sisters left some more friends showed up.  We found out that Justin had text people different times.  He got his address and our address confused in most of the texts too but everyone found us.

It was fun celebrating Natalie.  We are so glad that Natalie is in our family.  She is such a wonderful gal.  When it comes to cooking or baking we turn to Natalie.  She is so good to Justin and their little's and for that I am very happy.  I was right when I suggested for Justin to date her.  Natalie is a keeper!

Saturday

"Play"ing Around...The Nerd

I was nervous about driving to Orem tonight because of all the snow we have been getting.  It ended up being nice when it was time to go and the roads were still clear when we came home.  I went and bought some more Hostess Snowballs and we had a little snowball fight in the car before we left.  That way everyone had a treat for intermission as well.

I'm glad we didn't miss this play.  It was hilarious and the actors were so great.  I really wish I had thought sooner so that Barbie would have said something earlier because it would have been funny for us all to come in Nerd Glasses.  A kid in front of us didn't forget and it was funny!

We went to a little Sandwich Shop before and I was the last one to order and had to choose which table to sit at because their wasn't a table big enough for the six of us.  Barbie, Heather and Natalie were at one and Carol and Cari were at the other.  It really was obvious that I should sit with Carol and Cari since they were sitting side by side like a couple and there were two empty chairs in front of them but I didn't.  I sat in the empty chair by Natalie.  It wasn't long before Cari moved across from Carol. ☺  Before we were completely finished a musician asked Carol and Cari to move because he was going to set up there.  First they get left sitting side by side and then they get booted out...it was funny and I'm glad they have "thick skin"...(those were Carols words.)

From the beginning of the play I thought the "Nerd" sounded familiar.  I realized a  while later that his voice reminded me of Daniel from Special Needs.  His expressions were very similar too.  We had a good time.  I love "Play"ing with these cute ladies!

Gramma.....want to come with us?

I knew Trichelle was coming to take Kimleighel to get their eyebrows done and I was thrilled when Ivy came in and asked me if I wanted to join them!  I jump at every chance I get to be with my kids if circumstances permit me to.  I left what I was doing and went right out.  We didn't do much else but the time it took to drive to the Mall and back was nice to have.  The technique used on the brows was pretty cool.  The technician had string around her fingers and in her mouth.  She moved it around and it takes the unwanted hair out.  It was fascinating to me.  The gal is fast too and the girls eyebrows looked so precise and good.  Trichelle and Kimleighel got their dads genes for brows.  They have to have theirs cleaned up and I have to tattoo mine on.  I think my girls are beautiful.  I loved spending that hour or so with Trichelle and her kids.  I was happy that the grands wanted to stay and play.  We even let them spend the night.  I hope they will always want to come hang out at our house.  I can't help but think...."It's the little things in life that matter!"
