Saturday

Saturday

I did it....I got rid of most of my rubber stamps.  I had a hard time actually deciding to get rid of them but once I decided I didn't look back.  Trichelle was having a yard sale and so I loaded up my many containers and shelves and off I went.  I looked at the stamps and have many good memories of using them.  I just didn't want to continue to store them just in case I wanted to use them again.  Since I was dejunking I grabbed a few of my cute blocks and let them go as well.  I actually filled my car with stuff and it felt so good.  I went up later and sat with Trichelle.

People amaze me!  Most just want everything for free. (here let us put this all out and just come take what you want) Trichelle had the cutest dressers that she had painted and was selling for only $50 and someone had the nerve to ask her if she would take $5...ummm no!  They sold fast and would have even if they would have been priced higher.  Another gal asked Trichelle how much for a grocery bag FULLof clothes...cute clothes.  Trichelle said $5 and so the gal went and took from one bag and made it fuller and then asked if she could have the less full bag for $2.  Seriously????  A gal that I knew stopped over and found a bag that I had brought full of wood circles and asked me how much for the bag...I told her $3.  The wood in it was all brand new and probably cost me around $30.  She thought $3 was too much and told me so and wanted me to come up with another price.  I told her she could decide....since she thought I was ripping her off...I chose to let her rip me off instead.  She decided that she only wanted to pay $3 total for the bag of wood, 3 metal stars on stands, and two painted sunflowers.  I thought it was so weird and funny.  If we didn't want to make money we would have just gave it all to the DI.  (I didn't want to make any money though and told Trichelle everything that sold of mine was for her.  Heck...they took everything left over to the DI and it saved me a trip.)
A few stamps sold but the best part was that a lady came at the very end of the yard sale and mentioned that she worked at the Roy Senior Center.  We asked if they would like to have my collection of rubber stamps to use for their craft days and she thought that they would be delighted.  I was so happy that my stamps were going to a good place and that they would be enjoyed and used.  The lady even told me that if I ever needed to use a stamp that I knew where they were and could go use them.  (I know I will never want to use them again..but thought that was nice)  It felt good to load up her car and send her off with all those stamps.  It just felt wonderful to get rid of another car load of stuff I don't need.
When Larry got home we took the boat out to Willard to make sure it still works.  I had plans but Larry really needed me to help him and so I felt that I'd better help him.  Ivy and Zaden wanted to go with us and so they did.  Jared is always a good helper and likes being with us.  Willard is really low this year...like in the marina it's only 4 feet deep...the rest of the bay is around 12-20.  Not good boating waters but for what we needed it was fine.  Larry know the low spots and so he was able to open the boat up and go fast.  Zaden loved going fast....me.....not so much.  (only because of the low waters)  We stopped and the kids put their feet in the water and Jared decided to jump off the tower.  His life jacket didn't even look completely wet...he was out of that cold water so fast.  We all laughed out loud at him and his expressions.  Larry mentioned that was it for Willard Bay this year.  We will be headed to Bear Lake a few times this summer instead.  That's the good thing about the water being down at Willard....otherwise we don't take the time to drive to Bear Lake.  Willard is just so close and convenient.
We got home in time for me to run up to Teresa's Birthday Surprise. (at least the end of it)  I didn't want to miss her party because Birthdays are a Big Deal.  I was glad that her daughter had remembered me and invited me and I knew that if it was me being surprised I would like people to show up.  Teresa was surprised and happy to see me.  I gave her a jar of M&M's with a cute saying...
It was a fun day.

Breakfast ~ Post the last photo on your phone.
(Parker graduated from Preschool last night)
Lunch ~ What did you eat for your meals yesterday
(and snacks)? I ate a granola bar for breakfast and
it made me sick...I'm not use to eating healthy early
in the morning.  I ate at bowling and we had little
sandwiches (cucumber, egg salad, and chicken)
and a pretzel and strawberry jello dessert.  I made
spaghetti for dinner. I snacked on a piece of
raisin/cinnamon bread and a few chocolate nuggets.
Dinner ~ Name something that made you laugh out

loud this week? I know I laughed out loud earlier
in the week but can't remember right off.  Last
night I laughed out loud a few times at Parkers
graduation.  Each child was interviewed and
their answers were sweet and funny.  I adore little
children.
Midnight Snack ~ Name at least five things on today's
TO DO list.  1. pick up Ivy from her dads and take her

Wednesday

Time with Carla

On Sunday I received a text from Carla..."Is your week packed or do you have a day to spend some time with me?  I don't care what we do I'll even come over and help you watch your grandkids ☺ I  just like being around you Dawn."  then another "how about lunch in SLC on Wednesday if you're free?" Carla totally knows how to make me smile!  Of course I have time to spend with people that want to spend time with me.  Wednesday was good.  I just had to take my grands to kids club and wait for the pest control guy to come.  I love our pest control people. (BeeLine Pest Control)  They make an appointment for any time between 9-11 but always show up early.  I have never had to wait for them...they are prompt and always nice.  Our house was treated and the guy was on his way about 9:15.  I did some things around the house and was ready when Carla came to pick me up.

I enjoy visiting with Carla.  She is so open and honest and really good at building me up.  We went to Market Street Grill because her cute daughter, Jessica is the manager there.  It was nice visiting with her for a bit...she is a smart girl.  Jessica took care of our lunch. That was very nice of her and we appreciated it.  Carla doesn't care for seafood and didn't realize they have hamburgers until it was too late.  I thought it was wonderful.  We ordered Key Lime Pie to share and it was divine!

After lunch we went to the Farmington station and Carla had a coupon at Gordman's but ended up getting me a necklace with it.  The girl is so kind and thoughtful. As I write this I wonder why we didn't make it to the Home Good Store?  I remember walking over there but I don't remember going in....hmmmmm?  It was a fun day and I enjoyed our time together.  Carla is such a sweet friend.

Count Your Blessings

There is so much in our life to be thankful for~yet, so often our focus is on our hardship and trials.  By taking time each week to focus on our blessings I know we will notice a positive change in our lives.  Even in our trials there are blessing....we need to look for them.

One blessing I am grateful for today. I'm thankful that we are blessed with so much...too much sometimes.  We have everything we need and more...we are pretty spoiled. (everyone I know is)
An experience I have had that was a blessing to me. Having a few kids that have struggled in school and in life has been a blessing to me.  My experiences have taught me compassion and unconditional love.
One Gospel Principle that is a blessing to me.  Baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost.  I don't actually remember being baptized but I do receiving the Holy Ghost.  I "felt" him immediately!  I remember the covenants I made at baptism and they have helped me during my trials.
Something I have done to bless another. I help my kids by watching their kids...which I also a huge blessing to me.  This summer I am driving Trichelle's little ones to their Kids Club and I know that is a blessing to her.
Who was a blessing to me this week? My friend Carla...she makes me feel special.  Kimi and Jared have also been.  They are out of school and really enjoy my company which makes me happy.

Tuesday

Peace, Peace Be Still

I started taking Ivy and Zaden to their Boys and Girls Club today.  It's a great summer program for the kids and super affordable.  Trichelle needed somewhere for the kids to go and have fun and found this program.  Her kids were able to get in the program in Ogden and so I volunteered to help them get there.  I'm so glad that there are neat programs for the kids.  We had summer recreation when I was growing up which is probably similar to this.  The kids are really enjoying it.  They get breakfast and lunch and have organized activities.  I couldn't watch them one day a week (for a month) for what it costs for a whole month and I know the kids are having more fun being around other kids than they would be if they were at my house every day. We've been letting the kids sleep over so they don't have to come at 5:30 am when their parents leave for work....that is pretty fun too.

I finally got my hair done today...it's needed colored and trimmed for over a month.  The grays use to really bother me but I have so much now that I am getting use to seeing them and don't call right away to get them colored.  I really like the way my hair turned out today.

Larry and I went to the Temple tonight and it was so nice going together.  I prefer going first thing in the morning but enjoyed picking Larry up from work and going together.  I love going to the Temple and the peace I feel there.  I am so thankful for our Temple that is so close.  I love the Temple and I'm so glad I get to go inside and enjoy the experiences from being there.  I have enjoyed taking family names through.  I have one left and it's for my marathon.  The name I have left needs the initiatory and endowment done and so I have saved it so I can do it all in one day.  It's so nice having a bit of Heaven right here on Earth!
