Celebrating Jared's Day of Birth

We decided to Celebrate Jared's birth on Friday since Saturday had a few interruptions.  So right after school Larry and I picked Jared up and the fun began.  Jared wanted to go to Red Lobster for his dinner and so we decided to go there first.  Timing was perfect, food and service were great!

I enjoy our special dates with our Birthday kids.  The thing that is nice is that they each enjoy our dates too. Jared loves his family and I bet it would be safe to say that we are his favorite!  He would rather spend time with his family than anyone else.  I love this kid!
After eating Jared had the choice to go golfing or to Toads.  He liked both choices but decided on Toads since it's been forever since he has been there.  We bought 3 hours passes even though we didn't really think we would be there for 3 hours.  We were there for the 3 hours and it was fun.  We rode the go carts first.  I would normally call them race cars but they pretty much control the speed and warn you that there is no bumping.  They tell you that if you are caught bumping you will get a warning and then you will get kicked out.  No problem.......whatever!
Around the first bend or maybe second Larry decides to pass me but in order to do so since we are all going the same speed he needs to cut me off.  I refuse to be cut off and so he "bumps" into me and I bump him back.  It's kind of a chain reaction thing.  Well his car turned side ways and we were both stuck and the guy had to come out and turn Larry around so we could get going.  At that time the kid gave ME a warning! What the heck?  So from that point on we drove around the track like a toddler.  I did go with Jared again later and even passed a kid but warned him not to bump me when I was moving up on him.  If nothing else it made us laugh....."The "old lady" got a warning".
Next we miniature golfed.  There are two outside courses and we did them both.  At one point Jared said something like....it's okay mom if you aren't as good at this, there are others things you are better at than me and dad. LOL :D From that point on I picked up my game and even beat my cute little boy!
There was one hole that made Larry jump.  I thought it was because he was afraid Jared's ball was going to hit a big rock and bounce back at him...but that wasn't it at all....it was because Jared swung the putter and whacked Larry in the head.  I had them reenact it for a picture.  It was hilarious and even made Larry bleed just a little.  I was glad when we got through with the coarses outside...it was hot!
On each of our cards we had $5 that we could play with on the games inside.  Jared got right on it.  He was having so much fun.  I really enjoyed watching him.  I was giving him my $5 to play with too.  Larry joined him in some play.

The last thing we did was miniature golf inside.  Larry's shoes looked really cool and so I figured out how to take a picture with my camera without having the light blink and ruin it.  I am finding out new things about my camera all the time that I really like.
It was such a fun day with our little son, Jared.  He is such a cute and fun kid.  He's so appreciative about everything and asks for nothing.  He even mentioned he never cares what he gets...he likes everything.  Such a easy kid as far as that goes. (as far as grades go....not so easy)
The sky (sunset) was beautiful on the way home.  I noticed and Jared did too.  I got out my camera and took a few pictures from the window as we drove.  I got a few telephone poles first which made us laugh but finally I was able to get a picture.  I love the beauty around us and I'm so glad that my kids notice it too.
Saturday morning when Jared woke up Larry and I sang to him and I gave him a little present.  The kid loves Lego's and so he got a little set and instantly went in and started building.  He had fun with that all day in between helping gramps and running with Larry.

Trichelle took Jared with her family to the Weber State Game while Larry and I went to the Temple with our Ward. (which by the way ended up being a Spanish Speaking Session..hahaha)
They also took him out to eat.  I know it was a great day for Jared.  It was a great day for all of us.  We love our Caboose!!!

*oh ya.....I had 2 young gals today compliment me on my shirt.  One even asked where I got it.  I just wanted to remember this because I think it's kind of funny yet kind of cool.

Thursday

I Do!

I do enjoy getting with my friends and the support we all have for each other.  Tonight it was Lisa Schneiter's sons wedding and so we all met to go together.  The hubby's were voted out....but I don't think any of them cared.  Larry had said he would go but ended up being very busy helping Trichelle.  So he was glad he didn't have to go with me.
It was also Robin's birthday so I bought her a Birthday Girl Tiara and brought everyone candy necklaces, bracelets and rings.  Jodi brought her a cupcake and candle.  Lisa came to us all while we were in line and started up the singing to Robin.  That's when I added the crown.  I know it's nice to be remembered and "Celebrated" on your birthday so I try to help others enjoy their day! (Carla's daughter got married on my birthday...thought that was kind of funny the last two weddings have been on one of our birthdays)
The wedding was at the Schneiter Golf Club and was nice.  Very simple but nice.  The wedding cake was a GIANT cupcake (the kind I have pans for).  This couple didn't go all out on decorations, food or anything and I thought it was really cool.  Good for them!!!
I love this group of ladies!  Again, I am so glad that I was able to sneak into their group and have been accepted by them.  They love me too!
It's mentioned occasionally how I am the oldest and I don't mind at all.  I don't mind cutting the path for all of them. In fact, I am glad I can.  I feel it an honor to be their "guide". teeheehee
Lisa is such a doll....so is her grand baby.  Lisa always seems to be so mellow and is absolutely beautiful and very creative. She's a natural beauty!  Lisa is the one that I associated with in High School and it was because of her I "dared" accept the invite to hang out with these ladies. What a blessing they are in my life!
We always have such a fun and crazy time together!  If you want to add fun to your life...carry a camera! :)

Wednesday

Happy Birthday

Today I received a text from Larry that said: "Happy Birthday...Love You"  Then about an hour later the door bell rang and SURPRISE......I got roses!  The card said Happy Birthday!

Tuesday

Bonneville Buds

It's been a year since we have gotten together.  So I'd say it was about time.  I think it's funny that most of the women from this group weren't even close friends yet we all enjoy our friendships now.  Most of my memories of them are from Elementary School and some I only knew their names and faces.  At this point in life it doesn't matter.  Tonight our reason for getting together was Sharon was in town.  I know I haven't seen Sharon since we graduated and it was really great visiting with her.  I didn't eat tonight since Mallory and I had a late lunch together earlier.   When I showed up Kelly asked me if I ever ate at home....my reply was not if I can help it. (teehee)  I would much rather go out to eat with my friends. :)  I did provide dinner for my family though.....that should be known!

9*11*2001

Who could ever forget the Tragedy that happened on this day 11 years ago?  It is a memory engraved in my mind and will be forever.  I remember getting the kids ready for school when Suzie Arave called and asked me if I had seen the news. I hadn't and she told me what had happened.  I went upstairs and turned the news on.  I remember watching the planes crash into the twin towers and going weak and numb.  I couldn't believe this was happening.  I was devastated as was the rest of the world.  I was physically sick to my stomach.  I was sick for all the innocent people involved....and everyone who lost family that day. :(  (still makes me cry)
I watched for awhile and cried a lot.  I knew the day was wasted as far as getting anything accomplished.  I decided it would be best to get out of the house away from the TV.  Since Jared's birthday was coming up I decided to drive to Tremonton  to the John Deere Tractor store and get him a tractor for his birthday.  I think the drive sounded best.
I bought Jared a heavy duty tractor since I knew my older kids would be trying it out.  It was a Happy distraction for such a sad day.
I am forever grateful for everyone who has and continues to fight for our Freedoms.  I am sad for all who lost their lives that day and the days following. (and all the families who lost loved ones)  America is a wonderful place....full of people who care about each other and will do anything to help another person out....even if it means losing their own life.  I am Proud to be an American!!!  This day will always be remembered and lived over in our minds.

A Favorite Quote of Mine

Saturday

The Fair

To start with I want to say that Dave & Wendy couldn't come until Friday Night and so they aren't in any pictures since my camera battery died before they got there.(I know they are probably glad)
For over 15 years Larry and I have been going to the Blackfoot Fair with The Orrocks, Rogers, and Thompson's.  It is so much fun to get away with them.  People ask why the Blackfoot Fair and my reply is: The food, the company and the Indian Relay Races....not necessarily in that order. ;)
Our first stop is always the Bread Barn!  The workers there know us and love us. (we love them too)  The bread is baked right there in their little barn and it is yummy.  The slices are big and the toppings are great!
We always make a few stops to the bread barn.  This year I actually made two stops at the place that sold cheese on a stick.  Yummmm... As far as the horse races go the girls usually just go in for the Indian Relay Races.  This year they were more than exciting!  There were some close races and close calls and even a few collisions.  It's fun to watch though.  While the guys watch the regular races us girls look around.  This year we met a clown.  I laughed when I asked a young gal to take our picture. Mr Clown was surprised that I asked her since it was obvious she could out run me!  I acted offended.
We enjoyed looking around and I even got Kathy and Patti to agree on some pictures.  They got into it bit.  Seriously I think having a camera is another secret to having fun.  I notice as we take pictures everyone loosens up and even looks for kodak moment's. hahaha (probably isn't true for guys and why they are seldom in my pictures)
I bought a water on Saturday and couldn't get it opened.  I noticed Friday night that the skin between my thumbs and finger were sore and I think it was opening the water on Friday.  Anyway I couldn't get this bottle of water open so I asked Patti if she wouldn't mind helping me.  She laughed but she wasn't able to get it open either.  I looked around and found a strong looking guy and asked him.  He opened it effortlessly and I'm pretty sure he thought I was a ........... (could add a number of words here)
When Kathy went to book our Hotel they were full and suggested we go to the new Hotel in Fort Hall.  Oh my heck I am so glad we were able to stay there.  The hotel barely opened in August and everything was new and wonderful.  Everyone was pleased with the hotel.  We had dinner there Friday night with Dave and Wendy and I think we would have all enjoyed spending another night there.  The beds and bedding were so amazing and the food was wonderful too.  We were treated really good too.

It was such a fun time.  However by the end of each day my back is killing me.  I have a crooked back and bleachers remind me of that along with being on my feet all day.  In three different booths at the fair they had some kind of message thing that I took advantage of.  The first stop like that was a vibrating foot message were you get to sit and then the guy showing the product messages your back with another little machine while your feet are being messaged by a vibrating machine.  We also found a lady with messaging pillows.  They were nice and small and you just put them between your back and the chair.  I couldn't help myself and even sat on it.  I got Kathy to also and we both just smiled. :)
The last chair I found on Saturday was a full massage chair.  I stayed in that booth for awhile and it even messaged my feet.  Thank goodness for booths like that.  They saved me and my back.

Another fun year with some very fun friends.  Larry even said it was one of his favorite years.  Thank goodness because he didn't really want to go this year.
