Mother's Day

Larry's Talk

Mother's Day.....I LOVE it!

I LOVE Mother's Day!  I have always LOVED Mother's Day!  As a child I loved singing to my mom on Mother's Day.  I still love listening to the children sing to the moms.  Mother's Day got better when I became a mom because I love being a mom.  I love having the children that I do.  Each one has taught me so much and have been such a joy.  They have brought out my bad side at times but I will give them the credit for bringing out my good side.  I am who I am because of them.  I am a better person  because I am a mom.

As I get older and my children do too I cherish the moments we all have together.  I love being together.  I am thankful for Larry for wanting to have a big family too.  I am thankful for Larry for being such a great dad to our children. I am thankful to them all for making me a mom!

I am thankful for the kids that we get as bonus's.  My kids have chosen well.   I am thankful for the little grands that are coming to our family.  Mother's Day just keeps getting better. I am so thankful to be so blessed!

Some of the texts I received:
Daniel:  Dawn happy Mother's Day!!! I hope you have a wonderful day. I bet it was special having all the kids finally together.  You are a great mom and I know we will continue to be blessed with your love.  Love you Dawn and Happy Mother's Day.
Keri Gray: Happy Mother's day to such a sweet, loving, and loveable woman.  Your example and love for life truly inspire and motivate me on a day to day basis!  Thank you for letting your light so shine!  Sure do love you. :)
Jaydan: Read this if you're the bestest mom in the whole world....  An official Happy Mother's Day!!! You're a great, great, great living mom and I know you're being like the mothers  of the stripling warriors teaching your children in the ways of God, and for the reason God is prideful for as a "Successful" loved mother of God.  Just remember if God had to pick between the father and the mother he'd pick you.  You gave life to the sweet children and are the teacher for their lives.  According to the family proclamation, God loves you and so do I.  You're a Tony the Tiger grrrrrrrrrrrrreat mom!  Happy Mother's Day!
Debbie Widdison: Happy Mother's day to all my cute lady friends!  Each one of you have played a role in the lives of at least one of my children and I thank your for that and your great example.  Love You!!!
Braxton: Mom, you're the best mom ever. I'm not sure if anyone else in the world could have got me where you have gotten me.Thanks!  Love You!
Martha Monroy:  You are my second mom in this world.  I love you and thanks for being on my side all the time.  Love you forever. :)

Saturday

Marshmallow Popcorn:
Pop 3 bags of Popcorn and remove un-popped kernels.  Put in a really large bowl with a bag of mini marshmallows.
In a pan: Melt 2 cubes of margarine, 1/2 cup karo syrup, and 1/2 cup sugar.  Boil and stir for 3 minutes and pour over popcorn.

Karmel Korn:
Pop 2 bags micro popcorn and get kernels out and put in large bowl.
Heat: 1 cube margarine or butter, 2 cups brown sugar, and 1/2 cup karo syrup.
Use a wooden spoon and stir while mixture boils for 1 minute.  Don't lift spoon from bottom or scrape sides of pan.... supposedly if you do it will go sugary.
Remove from heat and add 1 tsp vanilla. Stir and pour over popcorn.

White Chocolate Chips Popcorn, or any chips (I used Cherry chips today & M&M's)
Melt a bag of chips and pour over 2 bags of popped popcorn.  You can add pretzels, broken up cookies, and candies.  When mixed spread on a cookie sheet to set up.

Crafting Fun

We crafted today on Davaleen's Birthday.  I saw that it was her birthday on Face Book and so I decided I had better take some hat's and horns so we could help her celebrate!  I think it was a great surprise to her and I know it made her day just a little bit better.  I sure do like Davaleen.  She told me that she wasn't sure what to think of me the first time we met but quickly decided to like me.  I am sure glad she did.  Davaleen told me that I inspire her......that sure made me feel good.  It's nice to know I am doing ok and helping others.  I wonder though if others know just how much they inspire and help me....maybe I should tell them!
There was new gal there today and I'm sure we made an impression.  We'll see next month what kind of impression we made whether she shows up or not!  I loved the technique today. We did shaving cream cards.  It was easy and so cool.  I bought re-inkers so I can do it at home.  This would be a great craft for girls camp.  We also made coasters which were cute and easy.  I actually hosted today with very short notice.  I  decided to just serve different kinds of popcorn.  I found really cute Popcorn Bowls at the Dollar Store too to serve it from.  It was easy but I think everyone enjoyed it.  It was a fun day as always getting with the girls and laughing and crafting!
For the shaving cream cards you put white foamy shaving cream in container.  Then you drop ink into it and swirl with stick or spoon.  Then you put glossy card stock (shiny side down) into it.  You wipe the cream off and have a really cool design.  I loved it!  We used purple ink only but could use a few colors at the same time if wanted.

Friday

It Never Gets Old!

Today I was headed out the door to go for a walk just as a van pulled into our driveway.  I couldn't help but smile when I saw it was a Floral Van with Flowers for me!  I get so excited every single time Larry sends me Flowers.  I LOVE it!  It never gets old and I'm always surprised!  I really do believe that I am married to one of the nicest men alive.  Larry has been so good to me over the years.  Even before I got the flowers today  I was thinking of all the wonderful things he has let me have and do.  I have truly been spoiled.  I like to believe that he has truly been spoiled too.  We are a good match and have had a great life so far.  I hope we have many, many more years together.

Craving Sushi.....Really?

For months now I have been craving Sushi!  That's right ..... SUSHI!  Who'd have ever thought?  NOT ME!  I thought it was funny in fact that I have wanted it so bad.  Problem is I don't know of many people that like Sushi enough to go to lunch for it!  I knew Trichelle and her family liked it and so today I took advantage of my time with Trichelle.  We went to the Mother's Day Boutique at the Fair Grounds together.  That is kind of a little tradition of ours.  We try to go every year.  I really enjoy my time with Trichelle.  I don't see her as much these days since she works and goes to school and Zaden goes to daycare.  So I was tickled to spend some time with her.  She was all for going out for Sushi!
There's a new place close to her house that we tried and we both liked it.  They were also fast and that was good since Trichelle needed to go pick up Ivy from school.  It worked out great.  We got our fill that is for sure.  These aren't really the pics I took (I found them on the internet) but they look pretty close.  (mine are on my phone and I haven't figured out how to transfer them....I've done it before but this was easier because I can't remember how I've done it)
We got three rolls and brought at least the amount of one whole roll home.  They are pretty good as left overs.  We ordered the caterpillar roll, a rainbow roll, and a fuji roll.  I liked them all but the fuji with the crab was my favorite.  Zaden went with us and was pretty darn good.  He's a pretty cute little kid! (Like Darn Cute!)  I enjoyed my time with Trichelle......in fact I cherish it!  Thanks Trichelle for going with your mommy!
