Thursday

Thanksgiving!

One Wednesday I was invited to have a Thanksgiving Dinner with Kamryn at her preschool.  Kamryn wasn't having a very good day and had to have a few time outs before we even had our lunch.  I think she was tired and hungry and finally she came back happy and pleasant.  She sat between her two grandma's and we had a nice lunch.  Kam's preschool does a lot of nice things like this that includes family.  I am thankful for Kamryn and her other family.  I love them all very much!  Kevin and Julie are great parents....I am proud of them both!
On Thanksgiving we got to go up to Darinda's this year.  It was extra special because Shari and her family flew in for Thanksgiving.  I love having the family all together and enjoying each other.  I love family time!
My family enjoys being around the other relatives too.  I always wanted my kids to know their Aunts and Uncles and Cousins....I think it's important and nice to have the closeness of extended family.

The Ropelato Family is a great family.  I have always felt loved and accepted by everyone of them since first meeting them.  The are my family and I am proud to be apart of them!

I love seeing my nieces and nephews with their own little families.  I can't help but go back in time with my thoughts and remember fun times with them when they were little.  Life is fun and I am thankful for memories as well as the present.

The year Darinda hosts the Thanksgiving Dinner is the year most of the family comes.  On my year most of the married kids go to the other family.  So Jerry and Darinda's house is full in many ways on this day.

I took a lot of pictures because pictures help me to remember.  I love looking back at them and enjoy the moment again.  My heart smiles, my soul lights up!  I am so Thankful!

Justin and Kevin's families went to their other families this year so I can have them on the year that I host.  It works out.  We miss them but I am thankful for their other families and don't mind sharing with them.

It was a little nippy outside but the little ones didn't seem to mind. They played outside anyway without their shoes.  The jumped ...... everyone jumped.  The little ones on the tramp and the older ones high jumped.  It was a lot of fun watching everyone and laughing.  I even jumped once.

There weren't many girls born into the Ropelato families.  That is changing now though....my nephews are getting girls....in fact more girls that boys in the next generation.  Scott also has only girls and maybe it's because they are the age of the next generation. ;)  I have always felt close to everyone in this family.

The younger kids all have a great time together.  Zaden was loving the babies this year.  He wanted to hold them and Garret let him.....Zoee didn't want to be still long enough.
The day is filled with food and visiting.  Some watched a movie while others played outside but we were all together enjoying each other.  No one is in a hurry to leave even though Jerry and Darinda and a few others were headed to St. George after.  I don't think they got out of town as early as they had hoped.

I am thankful for families.  My brother, Terry called just as we got to Jerry and Darinda's and Bennett had texted me the day before wishing me and my family a Happy Thanksgiving.  We stopped by my sisters on the way home and were able to visit with her family and my parents for  awhile.  Thanksgiving as turned into my favorite holiday.  Again, I am very Thankful for being so blessed.

Tuesday

Grandma Bernice

This is the Grandma Lowe that most of my kids knew and will remember.  She married Grandpa Lowe and became a Grandma and Great Grandma to my kids and grands.  Bernice was a great lady.  She loved her family and included us in that love when our families were united.  Bernice was kind and sweet.  She always had something for the kids when we went to visit.....a treat or a little toy.  She was healthy for most of her time on this earth too.  I couldn't imagine her sick or ever dying.  Just a few months ago I saw her at a baby shower and she looked so good.  I'm glad she didn't suffer with her health.  The day she passed away Gramps, Me and Kevin were headed to the hospital to see her because we had got word that her time had come and she wouldn't be with us much longer.  We didn't even make it to the hospital when we got the call saying she had passed away that morning.  I felt bad but knew instantly that she was aware of our efforts and love for her!

I feel grateful to have had two wonderful Grandma Lowe's in my life.  What beautiful women both are and what an example they have been to me.
